I wouldn't bother. If the person who buys the hat wants it signed, it's just as easy for them to get it done as it is you. The potential loss of value and number of people willing to buy the hat is far greater than whatever small benefit the signature might bring.

Most people who buy unusuals resell them eventually and selling gifted text is hard, let alone hoping the person in particular cares about the gifted text to pay even the same price as what he would for for a standard unusual version ya feel me
