Welp, I'm hunting down a 30 hour Unusual Pickelhaube and a 20 hour Buds. Both haven't played TF2 recently. Both won't accept my friend request. Although the Unusual guy's friend did. I asked him to relay the message on to him. Seemed nice.

"Hey, there. Do you have Bill's Hat?" *He looks for it* "No, I'm afraid not." "wai-" TRADE CANCELLED.

Stormer had found a guy earlier with.. bills I think? Yeah bills, anyway he couldn't get him so he sent him to me.. I got him easy. You can't just trade them over and over and over, you've got to talk to them. I find that most people don't accept trades because they think that they have nothing to trade, so what you have to do is say something along the lines of; "Hey, I was just wanting to start you out with some sweet weapons". There is then a 99% chance of them accepting the trade request this time, so then you ask them if they have any hats, ie a bills hat. They say yes, tell them to put it in the trade, and ask for what favourite class is, throw up some stuff and ask "What would you like for it?" They'll probably pick one or two things and think you are the greatest person in the world.. it is very easy. But before you go scamming you have to make sure you've got a [b]huge[/b] variety of weapons. What I spent nearly all day doing was buying black boxes, sydney sleepers, kunais, half-zatochis, and other popular items, and that helps a lot, and if you've got the metal, paying a scrap each can get you them in no time at all. Scrap banking works too, however you might not get a good variety of good stuff, you'll probably end up with vita-saws and buff banners.

Some guy who spoke gibberish language apparently wanted a hat. He offered some vintage crap surprisingly.. first I was messing around with him, but then I thought I might as well make my pyro a little more of a complete set. I offered him the Private Eye spy hat (non vintage) and he just mindlessly accepted, pretty much any hat offer, and I already got a violet detective's noir. so I went ahead and traded; My private eye spy hat for Vintage Backburner and Vintage Flaregun I already own a vintage homewrecker, so my Pyro is now awesome; Rustic Mexico Hat, Vintage Backburner, Flaregun and Homewrecker :dance: (+ portal/primeval pin) it's funny class but just how awkward reflecting rockets can be lol, not my class but I racked up some kills, at least one kill for each death, topped scores few times too.

I have wasted so much time today failing to get even a SINGLE trade. Now, I find a guy with Earbuds and 9 hours. Woot. No. Wanna know why? Because I timed out of the server before I could trade him. Now I cannot see when he's dead to send him a trade request. And I cannot rejoin. Woohoo. Don't ask for a link.

[QUOTE=deadoctober;29387989]you lost like 30 weapons.[/QUOTE] oh wow I am so concerned about that. i got all the weapons i need anyway. mostly some older vintage weapons which i've had for as long as i can remember, rest of the items that i use are either stock, or renamed stock items. then i got hats in my favored colors for most of my classes anyway, don't look forward to owning any more tbh. what would i do with 30 weapons that i apparently "lost" when i gave a hat that i randomly found, which i don't like at all, to someone for 2 weapons that I was seeking for too, I consider myself "lucky" here. and yeah, ripoff trading megathread i know, but just came to say hello :v: no doubt the trade is a "loss" but by a nonexistent margin.

I've been searching all day and not a nibble, found several buds and bills but most didn't accept my request or said not for sale. I've also run out of weapons and I don't know how to get more as I haven't got drops for like 4 days now.

NubFM, want to trade that perhaps? It's the only one that I like the most out of all soldier hats. the next coolest is soldier's stash, then stock helmet. So, what could you possibly want for that? I don't have a whole lot to offer, but a craploads of newer/older non-vintage weapons, crates, few reclaimeds here and there or so, and a white painted non-v texas 10g being my only extra hat that is up for trade. you could have all of that, for that.
