XSI Mod Tool, it's one of the few free tools that supports .SMD exports properly. But Blender (which I prefer as it is easier) does with plugins, though the plugins are a bit sketchy sometimes.
[editline]12:25AM[/editline]
The Mod Tool is free. The full version is fairly expensive.
[editline]Edited:[/editline]
Fuck you iPhone, I typed .smd, don't put .SMS instead :argh:
I may retry XSI.
After all it's how I finished OPERATION CARDBOARD SHARK.
I'm downloading wiremod for gmod, after I get done with the project I'm making I'll DL XSI and try it out...
I might redownload XSI some day. Blender is giving me grief when trying to export.
I wonder if someone could make the weapons from that fake engineer update.
-Snip, I'm late and didn't read good-
he's making a dynamite model genius
[QUOTE=Mister B;19635767]Got some bad news, folks.[/QUOTE]
If he makes a dynamite model Valve will probably take the hint and make it dynamite...

OH FUCK YES!!!!!!!!
wait...
Reason for site:VALVe:we know are updates suck so why don't you go off and make your own?

I think the reason is more likely to relate their original idea. Bunch of mercenaries fighting for a land with self-made/custom weapons.
Now seeing bunch of Heavies all wielding weapons that look different, yet do the same amount of damage than their default counterparts will look awesome once this thing gets kick started.
Basically they now let the community create custom content to the game with little effort on their part.
No more duplicates that are only good for crafting.
Great idea, if the item quality is kept at high level.
What do you guys think of this as a hat:

Untextured at the moment, but it is getting there...

This is the place to post stuff like this? Right?
Looks too futuristic to be in a game that is set in 1968, I'm afraid. :(

I'd recommend the TF2 Emporium.
Also Valve said to keep to the tf2 year.
Then again the Batter's Helmet is in the wrong time.

Teleports is a wrong time too. But who cares.
It's X-Men-ish. Seriously.
Argument over.

Looks too futuristic, but considering TF2 is in 1968, when there was the space race and the cold war thing, spaceships and a lot of speculation about the future, it seems to fit, kinda. Just try to make it TF2-ish.
Fuck, this means I have to craft my Pyro hat before there is a random chance to get an ugly fan-made piece of shit rather than the Brigade Helmet.

Why do you expect that Valve would accept something like a "ugly fan-made piece of shit"?

You do make a point.
A really idiotic, short-sighted point. But a point none the less.
I really, really want a Fedora so I'd better hurry up now that I have a 50/50 chance and before they add anymore. Then again they might add some amazing Spy hats. Decisions, decisions...

then again you could just smelt a spy hat to increase the chance.
Hope it will not be said when this hapens so one day some random chap gets a new hat and evryone wtfs.

That's what I meant. I want the Fedora especially. So if they add extra Spy hats then the chance of Fedora is reduced.
I like the fact that we can contribute steam group avatars. At least I can put my unused TF2-poses to use.
I might have a go at a hat, so I can learn to model a bit better. But for whom.
All i gotta say is yesss!!
Fixed rockets not being removed if they explode in func_nogrenades zones

You can place "func_nogrenades" zones in your map to achieve what you're asking for. Currently, rockets are not removed in func_nogrenades zones, but we'll fix that for the next TF2 update.

Subject: Ttf2 Mapping trigger request! Anti Grenade/sticky/rocket func_nospam
Hello Robin Walker, I have a good idea, do you remember that trigger in team fortress classic that if you put in spawn every rocket grenade and sticky would vanish right when it touched it and would disallow it to explode. I am requesting this because I and we are tired of the constant demo and sticky spam going on in spawn. So please oh please I don't care how you do it but please include this in the next update!
i sent this to robin :)
yaaay! no more rocket spam in spawn
This makes me want to make a hat just so I can have a hat in-game. :sigh:
Heavy santa hat..Fucking do it

Someone forgot to tell that to dustbowl.
What do you get when you mix a light bulb, a car battery, and technology that'll make your head implode from your simple mindedness?

THE THINKING CAP!
Starting to Texture it now.

"thinking cap" reminds me of that thinking helmet in 'The Hitchhiker's Guide to Galaxy' movie, where he would use lemons in it to make him think.
