unfortunately, green hair and dark eyeliner alone doesnt translate into the joker, try adding the white face paint.
then again, you're relying into people to get the reference imposed on a character, rather than doing a desing that speaks for itself.

The white paint may be over the border of the Copyright issues.
As well, the reference was somewhat obvious.

This basically just replaces Scout's feet with a pair of fingers, and people have told me that it looks gross (which I guess is a win for me).
And the nails are of course paintable!

no, it wasn't. its not about copyright issues, is that the character has three basic facial features and you removed the second most prominent one(the other one being the smile). if you're going to do an item referencing an existing character and be worried of it being to close to the source, you might as well take said features and add your own twist to them, like that judge dredd soldier someone posted not long ago.

Wanted to get some critiques on this effect before I finalize it. It's for unusual taunts, with the hands being roughly about the same height as the disco ball particle. The hands move up and down while swaying their fingers gently with the strings following.

I like the concept but its missing the spooky theme to me. Maybe make the flames purple and maybe a ghost hand holding it? Kind of like pic related but a ghost hand. I'll use SFM and paint.net and try re-create what I had in mind. I'll post it on here later if it works out.

My first attempt at a concept! Heavy as everyone's favorite wookie, just in time for Scream Fortress. It's up for claiming, and I'm welcome to any criticism and advice. I'm thinking a four cosmetic set, being the Head (Smuggler's Mug), the Arms and feet (Chess Crushers), Bandolier (Air-pilot's Ammo), and backpack w/ robotic medic parts (The Physician's Parts).

edit: if you want originality points, make the fur similar to Cream Spirit
some bigfoot sightings have them as gingers and it adds some team color
