I belive this could go well as a all-year round, considering it looks pretty normal if you look at it.

Positioning and size looks indeed quite unnatural on some of the classes. When wearing a hat the brim is usually very close to the ears. Right now it looks like it's floating and not very fitting on some of the heads.
Still not as bad as this, though:

Although the whole point of the "1 day only" hats like that is - it's meant to be big and in your face, otherwise it wouldn't be as noticeable.
I get what you mean though. I found that the Houwar sits awkwardly on 'smaller' classes like the Spy or Scout, but sits just fine on the Demoman and/or Pyro (I don't like the large gap around the back of the neck while wearing it on a Scout or Spy, but because the Demo is hunched forward a bit - it touches his shoulders, making it look much better). Suppose some hats just suit certain classes better than others and the Jar hat will most likely be no different.

Its really easy to jump on that horse and say all that stuff but that really isn't the truth. They all make really good items and put a lot of effort into them. Some of your items just don't have that quality to them in my opinion. Don't be put down by the other contributors, I mean I've got around the same number of submissions as you do but three of them were accepted. My first accepted item was my second uploaded contribution. If you make something that is interesting and that people like then your chances of being accepted are higher.

I don't completely agree with it ruining the fact its a hat. But yeah, the floatyness of it does look a tad strange.
I'm currently tweaking it and refitting it on all classes. I'll be updating it later tonight with the fixed space issue :)

One or two items got in the 2014 update that were made for the 2013 one, but a large chunk was from that year. I say it's entirely possible, but unlikely as to showcase stuff made for this year.
Now we're on the subject, I'd feel genuinely sad if this brilliant set wouldn't make it in this year:
