One of the contributors to 'chinatown getaway'.
So is it just me, or is Rottenburg a MOTHERFUCKER. Spent the last two hours failing at the first wave over and over.
Deadly Daffoil seems to be the most wanted, since it's gold and all. I have also seen people like the vilanious violet and Manndarin, but I don't know how popular they are.
I haven't seen anyone saying "I sooo want a Emerald sheen", so I'm guessing this is the least wanted (even though it's one of my favorites)
Manndarin is actually truly gold, Daffodil is just brighter and easier to spot, hence people prefer it.
Mostly the bright sheens are popular, like Mean Green, Hot Rod, Deadly Daffodil. It's like Emerald, Violet and Manndarin are their cheap dark counterparts (although Emerald is still quite obvious).
Our heavy raged the shit out of Sir Nukesalot and he flew away and then fell to his death

I just like it when bullshit happens in mvm

Sniper is a legitimate class choice.
Hey i remember playing with you! [sp] i was the soldier [/sp]
You did a fine job that time
Is using with the Loose Cannon remotely viable compared to the usual pipe launcher. I was playing around with it during my last Rottenburg mission and it was a lot of fun but I've got a feeling in the back of my neck that the usual pipe or sticky focus would have been better.

I'd say it's better if you can do good with it, simple as that.
I wouldn't ever go as far as using anything other than stickies in Mann Up, though.

It's not really hard to be good with, especially against bots, it's more that I felt like timing the detonations for the mini crit effect wasn't really worthwhile in comparison to just blasting things with pipes or stickies.
Could just be personal preference though.
Pipes are good for clean up for when you're out of stickies or in emergency situations but that's about it.

Critting a loch-n-load with full damage has better output though in some cases.

That involves a lot of reloading and money that could've gone towards your stickybomb launcher, and that's only every 40 seconds. That and it's only good against giants. Stickybomb launcher has always been one of the highest and most reliable sources of damage in the game, ESPECIALLY for large crowds (Which is what MvM is about). I don't see how that changes in MvM.
You'd need to lay down all 8 stickies for maximum damage though, and that takes a LOT more time than 2 pipes.
In most cases though I'd agree, against tanks and such. But if you want to be on a 1-shot frenzy, LnL is the way to go for the small guys.
I'm pretty sure even 4 stickies is going to do more as much damage than 2 pipes. All it takes is 1-2 stickies to take out your average robot, that + bigger splash means a crowds dead in 4 or 5 stickies.
which do you think offers a better DPS.
Maxed out Grenade Launcher, or Maxed out Loch n Load.
I normally just focus stickies, but sometimes if I feel like changing things up a bit, I just go grenade launcher and ScoRes for meds.

First one surely, as the first reloaded pipe takes a lot longer than the consecutive ones, and you don't need to reload the stock even nearly as often.
[editline]1st January 2014[/editline]
And you also get twice as much damage per magazine instead of a slight increase per pipe like on the LL.

or you could just reload 1 sticky and 1shot stuff regardless
boots + maxed stickies is the standard

here's how the old missions look like with the new table
also why does the surplus column have more than 6 slots

I think it's just so it looks like the same of the two columns. You don't get extra robo parts with vouchers, right?
Or maybe, overspeculation time, they'll update MvM to have up to 10 players! :v:
Disregard Greande Launchers. Acquire Shoes.
Just finished my 5th tour and finally got something good

Is it worth getting the parts for and using?
It is always worth making the kits.
I've found that using pipe demos over Heavies is far more effective, at least in gear grinder anyway.
Specifically on a saturday, I notice an influx of "no sniper" "we dont need a pyro go something else" etc.
I wonder why! (School's out obviously)
I join a server, everyone leaves later in the match. 5 people join on ROUND 4 and go "We don't need a Pyro" in the sassiest fucking way possible expecting me to change after I've dumped all my upgrades into my airblast-block-giant-scouts playstyle.
I pretty much just told them to kick me because fuck that.
Thing that really gets me is that even though they know nothing, they 'know' what to do.
I mean, for god's sake, there are bright blue hovering signs, pointing the way. The robots go that way. Every other member of your team is waiting there.
Do NOT tell me you do not know which goddamn way the robots are going.
I suppose I should look at it this way, though. I've gotten rid of a few of the absolute crap that only played MvM because of the untradeable ticket.
Apparently this mod spawns coin and $ particles to let you see MVM cash through walls.

I don't think that is really all that useful, and it is also buggy as hell for something that might save your team from missing that one bit of money and not getting the bonus. but that is not going to be an issue if your team works together and communicates enough for actually getting that A+ score legitimately.

day 1 : it was love at first sight, as they say. however, there was no possible way they could accept it. we had to flee, flee from the ignorance of my former colleagues.
[thumb]http://www.sourceop.com/hell-met/TF2/story2.jpg[/thumb]
day 4 : my chou-fleur and i are still on the run. we have found no suitable refuge in the badlands for days. we have met a second couple, unfortunate survivors from the blood shed. they smelled bad.
[thumb]http://www.sourceop.com/hell-met/TF2/story3.jpg[/thumb]
day 7 : we decided to set up under a bridge for the time being. after the red pyro chased us down we were forced to ubercharge. its medigun seems to charge ten times as fast as the old equipment hale supplied us with. handy stuff.
day 8 : it's over. it was assigned to support troops, as a result it gently deactivated itself on wave end. i had to leave the body behind, and pretend nothing happened. adieu.

nothing more satisfying than a guitar kill.

Finally Did it! My 2nd Australium, it only took 66 tours in a row after my last one to get it.
I'm beginning to think Valve only rewards you well if you join a random server and fail many times before winning. We tried wave 7/7 5 times on Bavarian before I got this. The Professional one is Kritzkrieg w/ tornado as one of the effects.
Edit: Excuse the crappy graphics, at least it runs it smooth lol.
a professional kritz and a gold sticky?
holy fuck
