• MvM Discussion Megathread: Do Androids Complain of Overpowered Upgrades?

Just ran Quick-Fix Medic on a Scout/Soldier/Heavy/Engie/Medic/Sniper team on Rottenburg. An absolute blast to play. Quick-Fix needs more love, but it also helps if your team is well suited to compensate for it. In our case, a lack of a Demoman meant I could get away without an extra few crits at the start and instead vouch for two shields merely seconds apart. And compared to the previous game where I was going to be kicked for merely choosing Pyro, everyone on our team was friendly and accepting of new tactics or odd choices. Now if only every server didn't lag to oblivion.

What's the problem now, wolf?
So, uh... I've been playing MvM for a long time, but has anyone ever tried the Holiday Punch on giants? I seriously used that to goof off during a wave I thought we would lose (we didn't) and three Giant Soldiers in the wave stopped doing anything when I hit them with it. They stood there, looked away from me the entire time, and a few seconds later started walking again and firing. I thought it was just an odd coincidence, but then I did it to a giant Demoman the next wave under the bridge in Mannhattan and... again, stood there, did nothing, and then a few seconds later turned around and fired while walking. And with the giant Black Box Soldiers, I hit two with it and they both continued walking but completely stopped firing. These were gatebots so maybe that had something to do with it. How did I never discover this since MvM started? Or is it just a weird coincidence?
[t]http://i.imgur.com/vx3Kzr7.png[/t] why
Overheal decays faster, so he heals more, building uber faster, not much to it.
[t]http://i.imgur.com/vx3Kzr7.png[/t] why
if overheal decays he can continue healing everyone constantly to build constant shields. this is my standard upgrade setup as medic.
Overheal is so great though. How is not having a 750 health HP heavy great. Medic isn't about the ubers in MvM, that's just a bonus. It's about the heals and the shield.

I would have made a video long ago if I felt like sharing this little secret. But it has made me feel fuzzy and special when people keep asking why the bots are "broken" it seems to be so subtle that even valve doesn't even know it works and probably just think it's best left alone. but stunning giants is a massive bonus.
I kinda wish they fixed the Sentry Buster, give it it's own model of something. Stop making it destroy dispensers by walking through them, and fix their death animation. It could be me, but sometimes it doesn't rev up and blow up like normal. It just disappears and shows the explosion but with no damage. Also fix their path finding, and behavior. Let it target a newly built sentry if the old sentry was destroyed, let it also target other buildings if a sentry is not present. Then target the Engineer if buildings are not present, and then the nearest player if the Engineer is not present. Could just be me, but I wish the Sentry Buster would be more of a threat rather than a stupid bomb with legs that has the voice of a stupid drunk bomb with legs.
I kinda wish they fixed the Sentry Buster, give it it's own model of something.
but it already does?
Stop making it destroy dispensers by walking through them
this is needed to stop people from blocking access to their sentry with other buildings. I guess they could make them clip through like with players.
fix their death animation. It could be me, but sometimes it doesn't rev up and blow up like normal. It just disappears and shows the explosion but with no damage.
that's actually a bug I love. manually killing a buster takes considerable effort and this bug is a great reward
Let it target a newly built sentry if the old sentry was destroyed
destroyed by other robots? no. I don't know why you want infinite busters but I sure dont.
let it also target other buildings if a sentry is not present.
Could just be me, but I wish the Sentry Buster would be more of a threat rather than a stupid bomb with legs that has the voice of a stupid drunk bomb with legs.
the regular robots give enough work. do you only play oilspill?
I wish sentry busters would stop going out of their way to smash a dispenser that is close to the edge of a path and just focus on the sentry unless it's actually being bodyblocked by the dispenser
Just its way to say "I know I won't get your sentry so I will take the dispenser down with me!"

Tried it against Chief Blast Soldier and while he was heading up the ramp he got pissed and just stood there staring at me and laughing. After I stopped punching him and he stopped laughing, he then tried to jump behind me. At least the Holiday Punch has some use. Always thought it was useless but I never really gave it a chance. It just makes it really apparent the bots are missing a lot of things. I'm tempted to just try it out in Mann Up against a boss to see people get mad at me without realizing what I'm doing.

I wish they'd fix sentry busters slapping you with their crit caber instead. I'm not even talking about round end.
I wish they'd fix sentry busters slapping you with their crit caber instead. I'm not even talking about round end.
the gate stun? its hilarious
Aparrently even if you're a great engie, spamming the short circuit inbetween waves, despite never being the last to f4, warrants a kick, and your 16 year old goonies you enter the server with will back you up... On wave 5/7 of buttbash.
Aparrently even if you're a great engie, spamming the short circuit inbetween waves, despite never being the last to f4, warrants a kick, and your 16 year old goonies you enter the server with will back you up... On wave 5/7 of buttbash.
To be fair that is the most awful noise spam ever conceived in TF2, and for some reason it's amplified during the setup phase. I take off my headphones whenever an engy does that until the round starts because it gives me a headache so fast.
the gate stun? its hilarious
No, I think it's more of a rarer condition-ignoring bug. That isn't triggered by anything but sometimes happens. Probably the same thing that let's you sometimes take damage with the god cheat enabled, die with 1 health with the buddha cheat enabled, makes sentry busters go below 1 health and die, makes red cash go into negative cash etc.
Figured out the credit-eating glitch If you're an engy and someone takes your teleporter while you're at an upgrade station, any upgrades you've purchased but not applied are permanently lost After every round destroy your teleporter entrance, then when you're ready build it and use it

I buy one upgrade and then remove it, but never receive the credits back from it.
having no ressuply cabinet was a terrible design idea always suicide when switching weapons first
having no ressuply cabinet was a terrible design idea always suicide when switching weapons first
I hope Valve adds those some day to all maps because there is pretty much no good reason for cabinets to be left out.
I hope Valve adds those some day to all maps because there is pretty much no good reason for cabinets to be left out.
They probably removed them because a demo could just spam stickies on the hatch for the entire wave and abuse the locker but that doesn't kill giants or stop tanks. so instead bad teams just get camped and ragequit :v: [thumb]http://www.sourceop.com/hell-met/TF2/mvm/spawncamp.jpg[/thumb]

Problem solved.
Rotburger.
:v:
I hate the matchmaking system. I get connected to servers where I have a 200 ping while there are definitely other servers much closer to where I am. Oh and I love joining a game and there are 3 zero tour pyros and they are oblivious to my polite requests to change class. There should atleast be an option to play with people with similiar tour levels you have.
