• MvM Discussion Megathread: Do Androids Complain of Overpowered Upgrades?

idk sometimes when I'm bored I just max out my grenade launcher and just save my ScoRes for meds. I mean yeah its not as effective as stickies but I'm still doing a good ammount of damage and still have a way to deal with medics.
Why are you always so strict for MvM You really need to lighten up
idk it's that whenever I tell someone "Hey you should upgrade your stickybomb launcher it's a pretty amazing weapon" they go "Wtf lol stickybomb launcher is shit at dealing damage". It's just the absolute ignorance behind it. I'm only strict when i play with randoms i don't care what people do when I play with a group or something. Even then I usually give people a chance to do whatever like go sniper
Played MvM with an Oculus rift today. I decided to go scout because i've played TF2 with the rift before, and soldier/demo are difficult, engie is close to impossible, medic is OK and heavy is boring. Scout was the only remaining choice. I lost 150 cash in the first round, started to feel a headache coming on but powered through it. Then I bought jump upgrades. Holy shit was that a bad idea - I immediately felt 100x more motion sick and had to take it off. I've used the rift a lot, but MvM scout with jump upgrades and movement speed upgrades is sickeningly bad. It's taken 2 hours now for the headaches to go away. moral of the story is to stick to heavy if you're going to play MvM with a rift.

I mean, we don't see people talking about it a lot. [sp]Have you ever tried Demoknight? :v[/sp]

I have to withstand 250+ Ping, being paired with decent teams, have to suffer for my 30 fps max But all of that... Was worth every single sweat, pain and blood Sorry about the size, the [t ] command doesn't work :c

Ham Shank killstreaks are the best!

Black Box plus Concheror is my new favourite way of soldiering. You almost never die due to the enormous healing piled with the Black Box and Concheror's heal-on-hit bonuses and passive healing and the speed boost of the banner is useful in both picking up dosh or encountering alone giants or huge wave of minor bots. On an average mission on Rottemburg, I've of Healing around 10,000 points or so.

1st time Manning Up took me 3.5 hours. What did I got? Nothing. fuck you valve, i can't believe you got away with this shit [editline]12th January 2014[/editline] and refund button's gone when i'm playing there
how many times did you play scout?
It took better than a year of scout-heavy play to hit that one. For reference, I'm barely halfway to the 100k robots killed achievement.

Not having buff banner on at least 1 soldier is just a wasted opportunity.

I have to say, there's a very noticeable divide in opinions between people who usually queue as a group of one or two (who usually go for stricter rules on what's allowed) and those who usually get a full six (who are generally much more open to experimentation). I'm wasn't happy when I had some random using the concheror instead of the banner a few days ago, and I was playing as pyro, who probably most benefits from it.
I like to think there's an undenying truth that 6 excellent players can almost do whatever they want and steamroll everything. the "proposed" meta is suggested in order to compensate failures or poor playing from one or more players the only true necessities are money collection, dispenser and medbot control an unstoppable team of experienced friends made of a gunslinger, directhit, degreaser, tomislav, huntsman and lochnload could probably make those unlocks seem good and have an easier time than 6 strangers randomly put together using the common unlocks

I have 11 expert tours and 9 tours on Mecha Engie and 7 tours on 2 cities. I have 2k hours on TF2. How do I sound "New"? I don't think you have to follow the "meta" (I use that term loosely, the meta for MvM is hardly refined a decent amount because not enough players are willing to experiment) to the absolute point but there are some things that are generally better than others, like mad milk over pistol. I never said the concheror was a bad weapon, I think it's great. I just think buff banner should be ran over it, especially if you already have a medic and a scout with mad milk, at which point it becomes redundent. If you replace the medic with a damage dealing class or another soldier with buff banner, concheror can be a legit pick up.
how many times did you play scout?
Almost always for around 20-40 tours or something
I just think buff banner should be ran over it, especially if you already have a medic and a scout with mad milk, at which point it becomes redundent.
This is exactly why the Concheror is such a godly tool: it lets you become a Scout/Medic hybrid with a very reasonable damage output. You're saving a player's slot.
i don't agree with milk being important enough to warrant a "role" money is.
Milk's primary focus isn't heals, but slow-downs. It works for Scout the best since Scout is fast and can throw and go. If you have a Sniper with Jarate, Mad Milk is pointless unless your team is REALLY bad at managing health and resistances, but you can circumvent it with Concheror, Quick-Fix, and a Health On Kill upgrade or two as needed. I will agree to Health Regen being a dumb upgrade due to how much damage you take at one time usually, but everything else isn't below a Mad Milk.
That makes me wonder, would a soldier going pure tank build be able to replace a scout? He can rocket jump, focus on resistances and have a black box and possibly a concheror or battallion's backup.
Mad milk is the best healing the team has bar none. It almost singlehandedly solves the pyro's main issues. Don't sneeze at it's healing abilities.
we just completed a mann up mission, great team, we were awesome the "you completed the tour" thing doesn't show, and we don't get any fucking loot. i go afterwards and don't find any missing tickets, so all of that 1-2 hours of hard work and stress accomplished NOTHING. what the fuck i then tried to start it up again and I wasn't connected to the matchmaking thing or something, and when i joined a pub i regularly go to, my loadout wasn't there. goddamnit valve, fix your server shit
You know you have shitty luck when a force-a-nature scout launches you into the grinder on Manhattan.
Mad milk is the best healing the team has bar none. It almost singlehandedly solves the pyro's main issues. Don't sneeze at it's healing abilities.
That's health on kill and strafing around a giant. Conch + Beggars + Max speed is the most fun I have ever had in mvm. I am running at max speed, flying through the air like a missile and shooting so many rockets that I simply can not die. It is also "better" for bosses, since the heavy can stare him down with no reason to retreat, if you should have one (you won't always have a medic or scout).
If you ever play Cow Mangler soldier (please don't), don't upgrade clip size since the alt fire is weaker than firing all the extra clip
If you ever play Cow Mangler soldier (please don't), don't upgrade clip size since the alt fire is weaker than firing all the extra clip
How about just don't use the alt-fire?
