MvM Discussion Megathread: Do Androids Complain of Overpowered Upgrades?

Does anyone actually play non-two cities anymore? I still enjoy Steel Trap a lot, so I've returned to mostly playing that mvm-wise.
woo big sale
nabbed 2 mann up tickets and 3 surplus tickets and now i'm ready (until this internet is fixed, of course)
Jesus christ the amount of people with 0 tours and no idea what they're doing is awful since valve gave everyone a tour of duty ticket.

Everyone want's the best prizes so they go for the most popular tour, despite them having no MvM experience
the day mvm came out, i got 6 easy tours, then 12 expert tours, 21 mecha tours and now 13 two cities tours. I really wish valve had a sorting system, of matching high tour people with other experienced, granted that would leave the 0 tours to nothing but 0 toured games, and they would never win

Besides the fact that two cities has the most profitability, i've had my fair share of every other tour, so i have to reason to use tickets on them. i might do bootcamp/10 man games on them
Personally I don't use surplus tickets. I thought they would give extra robot parts to everyone (which then I would use them) but all they give is an extra weapon, and if you really wanted to you could just give everyone a weapon and it'd be much cheaper than the 2 dollars (or 99 cents as it is now). It just feels like too much money for too little.

Holy shit men, I actually completed a mission in Operation Two Cities! I never expected that to happen.
Anyone about to do metro malice?

happens with sniper headshot money.
Good grief, it's impossible to do two cities with all the free ToD tickets in circulation. Who wants to mann up? Empire Escalation or Metro Malice.
[editline]22nd December 2013[/editline]
Yeah, there's NO way I'll be able to complete the tour without friends. Maybe I'll try one more time.
Yeah I'm down to do Two City missions with facepunchers only at this point.
All the new tickets and I've seen so many new Mann Up players it's shocking

These portraits... I need them! I was using the mod of the ones in Valve Store, but these are so much sexier...
Can you give me a link, m8?

How rare are professional fabricators and australium weapons? I've done 5 tours without neither and it feels a bit sucky
Australium is somewhat rare, I'd say more so than Diamonds/Golds in other tours.
Professional is rather regular. Getting the one you want though, now that's rare.
What's with a ton of people being elitists suddenly in MvM? There are people kicking others for not playing perfectly or not doing the exact thing they want. Sure I get it if someone isn't willing to be a team player, but you can't kick someone for not playing 100% amazingly. I was playing demo on two cities and had no ammo so I couldn't lay traps for the medics - someone said 'we'll kick demo next round'. Harsh.

Blame Valve for thinking that free ToD tickets would be a good idea, and randoms in general have always been varying from good to out right horrible.

I got an australium on my 26th tour I think, a friend got one on his 16th tour, another got one on his 2nd and another did 48 and didn't get any. Professional kits are much more common though.

In hindsight, a better solution could've been a 'silver ticket' as such. Only one silver ticket user would be allowed per server, meaning the 'randomers' as you say still get their free MvM tour, but each mission isn't clogged up with people who have no idea how to play the game.

I thought it was a wonderful thing because when I want to play with people from Facepunch, all of them want to Mann Up and I never have any tickets. Now, wanting to play Mann Up with randoms right now is not a good idea...

I didn't think it would be that bad, but boy was I wrong.
I joined a Two Cities tour (with basically three tours under my belt), and upon joining a server, I choose Solider but immediately get screamed at by two people (both who were new) to go Pyro. I don't play Pyro much in MvM (typically stick to and am good with Engie/Medic), but I chose Phlog because the wave had a Super Tank and I heard that Phlogs were devastating against tanks.
The two same users continue to type in all caps
"NO SOLDIER GO PYRO"
"NO PHLOG"
"STOCK"
"USE STOCK YOU FUCKING DIPSHIT"
"DIPSHIT FUCK USE STOCK YOU FUCKER"
...but before I can switch, they are all readying up before I could even switch or get decent upgrades.
I tried to focus on the tank while assuming that everyone else would focus on the bots (like they told me they would), but bots kept slipping past them and killing me. Naturally, I got the blame.
"DIPSHIT FUCKING STAY ON THE TANK"
"I TOLD YOU TO STAY ON THE FUCKING TANK YOU FUCKER"
After we failed the match, I chose to use my Strange Rainblower instead of just a stock Flamethrower, and even got nagged at from that (again, from players with no tours who were on their first MvM Mann Up tour). I told them I typically am better as Engie/Medic, but they just nagged at me to stay Pyro.
"RAINBLOWER? SWITCH USE STOCK"
"FUCKER STAY ON THE TANK THIS TIME. I WATCHED YOU TRY TO KILL BOTS FUCKER"
"DON'T WANDER OFF YOU DIPSHIT" ("Wandering Off" meaning I killed bots that passed them while I was on the tank)
I only wish the dialogue was an exaggeration and not direct quotes. I know this sounds petty and all, but good god that was some of the most annoying crap I've had to put up with on Mann Up. Welp, guess I'm waiting to finish my next Mann Up tour for a while.
Just got a notorious troll thinking we can't beat Hamlet with 5 by joining Spectator.
He couldn't be more wrong :v:
He end up helping us out by preventing any other worse pubs from ever joining again. We were going to beat it with 5 people from the start.
