• A Team Fortress 2 Server that only allows Stock Weapons

Okay, we are considering launching the server tonight. Anyone ready?
Where's the server located?
This server will never survive. I'd play on your server if you rolled back all the nerfs to weapons though.
Can't wait to play!
Will engineers be able to pick up buildings?
I'm probably in the extreme minority here, but I would love a server that completely strips everyone of all cosmetic items. When a big update comes and the item server is down and it's suddenly 2007 all up in this bitch it brings a tear to my eye. Considering being tired of seeing everyone's gaudy, tasteless paint/item choices on a constant, unavoidable basis being half the reason I stopped playing, that might be enough to make me return to the game, not that anyone cares (if only in short sessions). Maybe you could at least humor me with a vote about it? Or even only activate it only on specific days? That's certainly possibly with an cronjob plug-in. I mean, you can't really get the full Vanilla feel without going completely hat-less, and misc-less if we wanna be honest here. But yeah I'll respect your decision either way, good luck on the server regardless.
(Guys, the IP is 68.232.169.43:27015)
I remeber stock TF2, Sitting down one day seeing this werid thing near my xbox dashboard known as the orange box. I played TF2 first, went on all the maps. I ALLWAYS played on TC_Hydro. Nothing else. But when around the scout update, I brought it on PC. I Could never find that map, never played on it since.
Server is outdated. Can we get like an event or something sometime? I'd like to try this out on a full server.
-snip, wrong thread-
My friend and I are wanting to buy a server that only allows stock weapons. I know that there have been servers like this in the past that have died because of a lack of popularity, so to fix this, I want to see how many people would be interested before I end up buying an empty server. If you would be, feel free to reply and join our Steam group. Any help gaining publicity would be more than appreciated. For more information about the server, here is a video I made:
You can use a windows dedicated server for free "https://wiki.teamfortress.com/wiki/Windows_dedicated_server" (User was banned for this post ("Dumb bump" - Sgt Doom))

Wow. That is some spectacular thread necrophilia.
dammit I do wish this was A thing tho
dammit I do wish this was A thing tho
It's been done on several occasions before, these "Stock only" servers always die out in a month.
If you really wanna play stock-only Team Fortress 2, just play the day the update drops when the game coordinator and the item server are inevitably all down. MyM's release last year made the game all-stock for a lot of people, myself included, and I wound up playing the new maps on community servers with no cosmetics and no unlockable weapons. It was actually a pretty good time, and my FPS was way better for it.
