It depends on the kid. If they're just playing the game, calling out spies, ect. then it's fine. If they start whinning or begging over voice then it becomes annoying.
This. People who sound like they finished puberty a week ago and are adjusting to being "grown ups" and still thinking they should hate younger kids, and act like internet tough guys telling anyone with a voice higher pitched than their own to shut up or "go back to <popular mainstream game>" are more annoying imo. Sure, if they are just screeching in their microphone it's dumb as hell, but when some guy who sounds 13 says useful stuff and is told to shut up, votekicked and more it's pretty silly if you ask me. And on the topic of the update, it basically cut my frames in half on all maps. Or well, that'd be better than what is really happening, it bounces around within a range of 50+fps which makes everything really choppy. Maybe I have to return to the land of dx8 afterall :suicide:
The Tide Turner doesn't make you lose charge when taking fall damage but with the Baby Face's Blaster you do.
what is this dancing shit
what is this dancing shit
free kills
the last update deliberately hid valve servers from the server browser
That's fucking stupid
The Tide Turner doesn't make you lose charge when taking fall damage but with the Baby Face's Blaster you do.
Looks like they lazily recycled the old tide turner code, oh well getting boost drained isn't nearly as frustrating as getting charge drained, when you got your charge drained you were screwed for 12 seconds, with bfb you just land another shot and you're back in business. I still don't like the charge drain mechanic but it's been pulled back to a tolerable level so I guess I am still pretty happy, I still don't get why charge return is all melee kills now, the entire point was that you were rewarded for actually landing your charges, now even if you botch a charge you can W + sword people and get it back anyway.
Looks like they lazily recycled the old tide turner code
There is literally zero reason to write new code if you already have code that accomplishes what you want it to do. It's not lazy, it's just how coding works.
There is literally zero reason to write new code if you already have code that accomplishes what you want it to do. It's not lazy, it's just how coding works.
Tide Turner's code was changed to ignore damage imposed by the world and self-infliction, there's no reason for the legacy code to stick around. This means that fall damage and self-damage will be counterproductive when used with the new BfB. Scout can inflict self-damage via Boston Basher, there's no reason why this uses legacy code and not just the updated damage-drain code. The only reason is that the Tide Turner was never actually updated, it still uses the old code, they just changed a number and added a flag to ensure it can't be drained by world/self damage. This is sub-optimal coding. Yeah it works, but there are enough holes in it to make it not work when applied elsewhere.
The new weapon pickup system looks really interesting and I like it, but it's so difficult to pick up a weapon without stopping entirely and having to make myself vulnerable to everything. The pickup hitbox, if you want to call it that, should be increased.
Bah, last thing I want is to accidentally switch with some dead guy's weapon when I'm trying to use my actual active slot equip. If they make it any bigger they need to make it gtfo onto its own hotkey.
You know what bothers me? Not scrambling the teams. If I could, I'd scramble them every round. I'm not saying that just because my team sucks or I'm losing, because that's not always the case. I go out of my way to scramble the teams when I'm winning because I like challenge, and I like a variety of scenarios. I'm not looking to just sit here and jack myself off by killing some little kid that just started playing over and over again, because then what's the point? I always vote to scramble. And when my I go to scramble, the answer is unanimously no 90% of the time because our team loves winning. When my team loses and I go to scramble, the answer is unanimously no and on top of that I look weak. I just joined two servers where my team was filled with dead friendlies, and I just joined another server where most of my team looked like everyday names tacked onto student IDs and scouts that walk in a straight line. Earlier today, I joined a server where I was stuck on a team that was the exact opposite. But hey, no one seems to give a shit about playing things differently but me, right? A repeating pattern is apparently more fun then switching things up a bit.
the last update deliberately hid valve servers from the server browser
In case anyone missed it, Valve reverted this change.
Oh, here's one: I started using the flare gun today after spending a long while using the reserve shooter as my secondary, and while it's much more fun and challenging to use the flare gun, it seriously irks me how far apart the success rate between the two weapons are. I can pop out my RS super fast and plug people with tons and tons of shots to kill them, but it's not the same with the flare gun. The upside with the flare gun is that it can be lethal for people who run away, but I have to compensate for a lot more using that weapon. Don't get me wrong - I think the reserve shooter has it's place as part of the ambush mentality, however it doesn't take brains to use that thing as compared to the flare gun. It's something you could pickup relatively quickly, whereas I've been practicing with the flaregun all day today and I'm still not doing too great with it. Regardless, I plan to get good with it. I suck with it currently. And no judgement for anyone using the reserve shooter.
I used to like the vanilla flare gun a lot, and the crits ARE very nice. But I recently switched to the Scorch Shot and I haven't looked back. My main schtick is to have as many people on fire as possible, which the Scorch Shot helps to accomplish massively. The buff it got was also a nice thing.
You know why this game, even though so many people say otherwise, is still not even close to CS:GO? Skins in GO don't suck ass on every single tier in every single collection. Just open the workshop for TF2 skins already, Valve, since it seems like your artists had a brain fart while making those. [editline]5th July 2015[/editline] Also the inspections are booooring. You'd expect Scout to do some quick gun flip or something but nope, here's your regular boring inspection, okay, now fuck off.
I want the soldier to pet his weapon.
I'd imagine that'd be Heavy's inspection actually while inspecting his minigun. It wouldn't be even so bad if there were voicelines to go with it. Maybe jeers for badly worn weapons, MvM regular loot voicelines for okay-ish quality weapons, MvM rare loot voicelines for FN weapons and simiar stuff for different tiers. There's so much one could do with this and it was just kind of lazily waved off, it's so disappointing.
its a way to see your skin without going thirdperson_mayamode, who cares? it serves its purpose
its a way to see your skin without going thirdperson_mayamode, who cares? it serves its purpose
I do but I guess I am just nitpicking on stuff.
-fuck this was way late, didn't see new åpage-
I do but I guess I am just nitpicking on stuff.
Nitpicking something in the nitpicking thread? Noooooo.....Shame on you :P.
So I recently started trying to sell my Vintage Trouble maker's tossle cap, on backpack.tf, never got a single trade, someone always has to drop their version of the hat, which is worth WAYYYY more than mine in for literally 3/4th the price making sure nobody buys anyone elses, then I try going to trade servers to get rid of it with absolutely no luck, then I try steam community market and this: [img_thumb]https://photos-3.dropbox.com/t/2/AAAckrqVOItGWhsoMibNsCHd12W6ABWwcNJMCGVcdOZMMQ/12/285651948/png/32x32/1/_/1/2/Screenshot%202015-07-05%2011.18.22.png/COznmogBIAEgAiADIAQgBSAGIAcoBw/PdtG1BaGtF3vIBtSN9uskMvmiqDZPTzcETIKHdnsv8U?size=1280x960&size_mode=2[/img_thumb] This and my Vintage Killer's Kabuto are a curse on my life.
"TF:GO"
Honestly, it's the most obnoxious shit. I was in a server and some guy kept saying on mic "buying TFGO keys".
Also the inspections are booooring. You'd expect Scout to do some quick gun flip or something but nope, here's your regular boring inspection, okay, now fuck off.
The coolest inspect animation is probably Engineer Pistols. It's basically the same as Scout but he spins it just like his deploy animation.

What a bunch of pathetic losers. Why ruin the fun for everyone?

Not a major thing, but it always bugged me that the Hitman's Heatmaker decapitates players on a headshot kill, but the Bazaar Bargain doesn't.
Going up against players that have loads more experience than you is bullshit IMO
Going up against players that have loads more experience than you is bullshit IMO
Even if you lose a few fights to more experienced players, you can learn something from what they're doing and become more experienced yourself. In the moment it can be frustrating to get dominated and seemingly have no way to fight back (something that I have ample experience with, loving the game but not being very good), but looking at what they're doing can reveal ways to counter them. Even if it doesn't succeed at first, it might eventually.
Honestly, TF2 is not fun unless I'm playing with my family with at least one family member on my team. However, there's no way to stick around on a team with just my family members, so it's absolutely abysmal. Call of Duty at least did something right with letting your group join one specific team and having match making. TF2 does not. I was sincerely hoping for a better system in this update.
