Stuff that Annoys you in TF2: bind m1 say "( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)" edition

it makes me sad that even if I manage to release my mvm map after years of struggle, it's gonna get ignored because nobody plays custom mvm
The Dead Ringer, but not just the DR itself, but the fact that people think it's is fine and balanced.
Okay, I'll just chase this Spy down the entire map as a non-Pyro because as soon as his cloak wears off, there's something to refill it instantly, and have the Spy fuck up over and over and over and over and there's absolutely nothing I can do about it.
But that's okay I guess, because lol scrub git gud
I think something more annoying than the DR is bad spies that use it and think they are fooling everyone and trash talking over chat even thought I just killed than 5 times in a row with a stupid weapon like the Beggars Bazooka. You know what I take it back is not annoying is just pathetic.
DR is good because it allows a Spy to get through a spam-heavy corridor or otherwise tight fit, and positioning with it is more important as if you decloak at the wrong time everybody will know where you are.

On paper, yeah. In practice, dumb people just use it to survive anything in any situation, without ever actually doing anything other than waste the enemy's time.
What if we just took away the damage resistance entirely, but took away some of the cloak downsides, like the ultraloud decloak?

To be honest, I think the damage is done. No matter what changes you make, dumb people are gonna keep using it, because it's all they know how to do.
That just makes it a stock cloak that you can only use when you get hit.
What if we just took away the damage resistance entirely, but took away some of the cloak downsides, like the ultraloud decloak?
then a soldier just could shoot a second rocket where the spy feigned and get a free kill
9 times out of 10 the main argument against the DR is that you don't like the players who use it. Consider the following: If they had the stock or c&d, they'd still be a shitty person.
So hate them not the weapon.

But then they'd be a dead crappy player. One who would eventually learn to stop being dead.
You're right though, it's really the way most people use it that bugs me. There is such a thing as a good DR Spy, they're just incredibly rare because the invis watch is usually better.
What if we just took away the damage resistance entirely, but took away some of the cloak downsides, like the ultraloud decloak?
but damage resistance is literally the only thing the dead ringer has going for it
if you got rid of that, all it would have is the alleged feature of fooling people into thinking that you've died, which doesn't actually work and has never actually worked on anyone who knows that the dead ringer exists
whether it was intended to or not, the dead ringer now fills the role of letting spies get through spam-choked corridors where flanking isn't an option. that's actually an alright niche to fill, since that's a legitimate problem with the spy class, especially on maps like dustbowl. the real question is, how do you give the spy the ability to get through spam, without also letting him use the ability as a get-out-of-jail-free card? how can you give a spy damage resistance only to people who don't know he exists?

A good Dead Ringer Spy is one that disguises as their own team mate, get shot up, feign death, sneak over behind the enemy's position, disguise as a enemy while cloaked, and then attacks from behind.
The enemy never suspects a DR Spy because they only see a ragdoll of another dead class drop in front of their cross hair, and you just sneak right in.

Remove the ability to refill the cloak meter with metal when you have the Dead Ringer.

No, the ragdoll defaults to a Spy if disguised as a teammate. Same with death cry.
2fort.
Everything about that map is crap and bad. I only keep playing it because the people that I found on servers that have it are amazing.
DR's are way too obvious. My Scattergun loves it.
Am I the only one who usually doesn't have the hit sound play when "killing" a DR spy? Always making it really obvious they feigned.

Not really sure why that annoys you, but yes, hitsounds don't play when you kill a DR Spy.
There's actually a lot of situational things that could prove the spy is using the DR, it's just that most people ignore them because the game is going on around them.
honestly spies using the normal watch aren't that much of a problem, unless they're using completely unpredictable movement, even so they can't feign death or have that little damage resist. The instantaneous cloak of the Dead Ringer also makes it a lot harder for prediction shots.
tldr: when spamming rockets at spies its easy to kill them with stock watch but harder with dead ringding.
Why not making something like an additonal cooldown bar that affects Dead ringer's damage resistance? Like, the time you spend cloaked will rapidly decrease your damage resistance, and even if you then uncloak and get metal to almost instantly regen your dead ringer, the damage resistance will be lower than 90% unless you wait a bit more before using it again?
Basically, nerfing the cloak spamming while not making an horrible downside that will REALLY discourage everyone from using the dead ringer. *cough* like Tide Turner *cough*
Ouch, 500th post.
IDK, maybe its the fact that the economy goes up and down so much that made me want to leave. So I would say that's the only thing I really dislike.
A lot of European Valve servers have had lots of American players, sometimes resulting in half a team having 200+ ping. They just lag all over the place and "kill you behind walls".

Thank valve for that one. Quickplay is fucked to hell, frequently sending US to stockholm and servers with 150+ ping for them. Half the time i have to list quickplay servers and it will have ten 150 ping servers and then a few ~40 ping servers near the bottom of the list.
I never used quickplay, to be honest. The classic server browser is way more fiable besides being crappy at loading the full server list, but at least, when you join a server, you have a good idea of what you can expect on the servers you are joining.
Why not, like, ask the server if they're okay with you playing music over the mic before you do that?
I always do, I always feel around a bit if people are okay with my material.
It really saps my sentry whenever I try to put up a good fight with somebody and then they suddenly shit out a random 1 hit kill crit and thats it, they instantly win no matter their skill because RNG
I could have had a 95% chance to win that fight but nah get out of jail free git rekt random crit
Luxemburg servers are suffering

When I play Mann-Up with my EUROPEAN friends. We seem to always end up in a Luxenburg server. The one time I hate being American :suicide:

Try playing with Koreans. There's no word to describe the staggering lag that occurs.
