It's not difficult to get kills when your class has the lowest skill roof in the entire game :v:
I say thanks every time I kill someone and give no shits. It's a sound, not a raping of your family. Do you get mad at taunts too?

I say thanks after a kill...
Only if it leveled up my strange that is :v:
I bought a prof killstreak brass beast team colored flame effect off the market for a few dollars the other day. Now I get mildly irritated when this happens

I usually use Jeer or Nice Job! when I kill someone. I don't like when people use Thanks! for a whole different reason - it shows up in team chat. It's nice when people use it to actually thank someone for help, but when several people start spamming it after kills to get that thumbs up animation, I stop paying attention to it, which I feel really devalues a voice command that could be used to show appreciation and promote teamwork. Not only is Nice job! actually more fitting for soft-taunting people, but it also triggers the thumb up without showing up in the chat, but I guess not everyone knows that.

That's something I totally get, because I tell a ton of people thanks when they do stuff. I'll start using my other commands.

the problem is that some of the voice commands are hard as hell to reach
"thanks" is Z-2, which is incredibly easy to hit, like "spy" and "battle cry"
voice commands like "no" are pretty hard mid-combat because "no" is Z-8 iirc, and reaching all the way to 8 is annoying

Binds! I bound E to Spy!, Battlecry to Shift and Nice Job to V, for example.

It's not the thanks, it's the Pyro themselves
nothing wrong with saying thanks if you got a genuinely funny/impressive kill, I do it a lot as well (it's become muscle memory at this point)
Also isn't the point of taunts to anger/provoke other players? :v:
The worst part about TF2 is I have to capture the flag, defend our flag, destroy sentries, and do everything because either no one responds or tells me to fuck off when I ask about people doing anything. I also have to play all the classes and switch on a dime for people who just connected and refuse to change class. TF2 seriously has the worst etiquette and I eagerly await for the competitive option in the menu.
but turrents cant be destroy!

Never in my life have I seen chatbox spammed with Thanks!
Every time I kill a sniper I use "Nice Shot!"
The ambassador has stupidly annoying knockback - one hit and it slows you down to a crawl instantly.
Binds! I bound E to Spy!, Battlecry to Shift and Nice Job to V, for example.
Why would you use E for anything but MEDIC!
Just thinking about it makes me feel dirty.

I was playing against this guy yesterday who was shooting me non-stop while I was Pyro. He was spamming that shit and getting headshots either on the first shot, or the third shot (after shooting at the max firerate). I couldn't approach him. And if I did and I set him on fire, big whoop. He uses the dead ringer.
People aren't encouraged to be stealthy.

E is my bind for "last disguise". I don't have a "MEDIC!" key bound.
E is my bind for "last disguise". I don't have a "MEDIC!" key bound.
Most Medic's have the auto call for Medic on anyway (myself included). But I give people who actively call for Medic a higher priority over someone else who isn't calling for one. That is, assuming that they're at the same health.
Some config I set up a long while back has long since made it so that voice commands don't show up in my chat box. I have absolutely no idea what the command was.
Try Fighting HHH on custom servers

TF2 is literally the only game that runs like absolute crap on my computer. All weekend I've been trying to get on the TF2Maps server to actually play some decent maps with decent people, but TF2 has decided to love to stop working whenever it downloads a map and have me sit there for hours on end until I give up and play games that actually load. I finally give in and play a Valve server, and think my luck is turning around when it loads in under 2 minutes (because of no map download), but of course it's never that simple; I walk out of spawn, heal a guy to find he's a spy who backstabs someone who in the end turns around and tries to shoot me. I pull my melee, random crit him straight off and literally half a second later there's a kick vote on me after waiting all weekend to play TF2. :v:
Of course you can guess it passed, but in the slowest way to annoy me the absolute most. :suicide:
Why would you use E for anything but MEDIC!

Because I have Medic! on Q, idk why but it just works for me.
so here i am frantically trying to defend the last cap point of hightower, repeatedly airblasting those pushing the cart off the roof.(because apparently no one else can defend the goddamn objective) finally i end up in long respawn hell and enemy team caps the point. suddenly some douchebag on my team says, 'pyro can't airblast his own teammate. fuck you pyro.'
No.
F Uc K you.
the fact that HL2 runs at 60 fps at all times on near-max settings but TF2 often goes under 15 in firefights with a DX9 config with low settings
TF2's graphical quality isn't that much greater than HL2, really the only explanation I can think of is the massive amounts of particle effects and hats and stuff
it would be cool if Valve had an advanced option for the amount of particle effects that can be loaded at one time, forcing the oldest particles still active after that to disappear when new particles enter the game, ala the advanced option for decals. unusual particle effects would probably not count toward this number
i'd probably set it to like 10 or something lol
Skins lag the game so much I swear to god. When I pull out my skinned gun out my FPS halves.
I actually watched a stream of someone playing 6v6 and he could tell when an enemy scout with a skin was near him even if the scout in question was on the other side of a wall, as his fps got all unstable :v:
That was right after the update though, but maybe skins is why the update sent me back to dx8 hell, as some servers gave me awful fps. Maybe those servers just had more skins on them!
Didn't they make skins render at max texture quality regardless of the clientside setting or something equally questionable?
I have Q as the MEDIC! Call and E as the Taunt Button.
Is that a problem?

Yes this is exactly my experience.
Frames go haywire, someone must be using a shitty skin nearby. Learn who he is, always know exactly where he is at all times.
Not such a great advantage when I can't hit the side of a barn due to FPS drops.
Didn't they make skins render at max texture quality regardless of the clientside setting or something equally questionable?
No they look like absolute shit on low settings. I think it's just the fact you have at least 5 2048x2048 textures loaded for a skin and that's before any of the patterns are added.

Speaking of, I might as well post some voice aliases here for people that wanna use them in scripts/binds. Includes the corresponding animations as well.

people who are so god-damned ignorant/bigoted that they will never EVER listen to anything else, this happened to me today with some guy over voice chat saying he was VAC banned in CSGO for no reason, and that he was going to sue valve for $15,000.
Asked him why he was vac banned, "Well, I was running a script that changes your FOV in any steam game, but that was it"
Explained to him how VAC works (I believe it works by detecting unknown and modified .dll and exe files), which was hard to do with him consistently calling me an idiot and a faggot, and telling me to "get up with the times" because I said something about Overwatch not causing VAC bans (Which I'm actually not sure about anymore, if someone can tell me if Overwatch does or doesn't cause VAC bans, that would be great)
still completely convinced that the VAC ban was a false positive (because he put the script in the "materials" folder) and is completely confident he will win in a lawsuit.

I had this and then I started using the No Skins mod from the Emporium. No more problems, plus if you have skins, you can inspect the stock textures and it doesn't affect the stat clock either.

considering the skin is applied shortly on your gun after you spawn (if you watch closely you can see the stock gun), I won't even dare to guess what horrific tech they've created
seriously what the fuck is this?
