So I don't really know how to describe this without coming across like a smug douche, but it really sucks when people get upset or don't have fun because of something you do. I was playing some payload matches as pyro just now, and I was feeling pretty good about it. I was doing okay, but it wasn't so much the kills or the score as it was the moment-to-moment gameplay. Say what you like about the backburner, but it is so much fun to sneak around into that perfect position to flank the enemy team. That, combined with some fun escapes, a (very) few nice reflects and near-death battles and I was having a good ol' time. But then, once the round ended I'd see "bg stupid pyro" and such forth, it just put a dampner on my mood. At one point I managed to get behind the BLU team on Barnblitz and successfully took out an Engie and his nest of fully upgraded buildings. Just as I was giving myself a pat on the back for a job well done, I check the chat and see the dude quit out. A part of me feels like that should make the success more sweet but I dunno, it just bums me out to think that I might have ruined that game for him or her. On a more positive note, nobody called me a W+M1-er or anything, so I must be getting pretty good with my shotgun.
lol what kind of fucking baddies complain about the Backburner? The range for getting crits is so small anyone who gets hit by it deserved it, the Pyro outplayed you and ambushed you. Yeah, ambushing, Pyro's supposed niche?
The new update. Finally. Aaaaand the Stickybomb Launcher? No? Come on, Valve, you're fixing one weapon being too shiny and leave another as it is?
The Scattergun has this problem too. I dunno how they overlooked it.
man...I do love this new troll glitch in this new game mode, that an engi with short circuit can destroy the ball outright.... also dont like how they use the moonshot sound for long distance passes
So you guys know that glitch that causes some players to be the wrong color? Well that just happened to the entire fucking enemy team. It looked like a civil war had broken out among the Red team in Borneo.
That would be so much fun if all players were stuck with the same effect.
those days when you carefully plan your sentry deployments and take your time to build your stuff properly to support your team and not just hug all your shit on spawn. then a random spy saps your work and ruins your day with minimal effort.
No new Stranges since February or March, come on Valve I need my fix (Gun Mettle ones don't count)
Strange Iron Bomber and Quickiebomb please.
I find the contracts quite neat and all, but I have slowly realized that they really do make people more likely to complain about "killstealing" which even with stranges have always been a somewhat ridiculous concept in a game like TF2. Trust me, when you need 10 more CP on that god damn engie contract and your sentry has 4 kills you can feel the pain whenever your sentry opens fire on someone, but some teammate of yours finish the target at the last second :v: Valve servers right after a new contract is released are kind of funny too. People change class a lot less than they normally do, and your team composition is at the mercy of the contract system if everyone has a coin.
Is it just me or is the guillotine + sandman a grossly powerful combo? Getting stunned is bad enough, do they really need a free >half my health gone as well?
Is it just me or is the guillotine + sandman a grossly powerful combo? Getting stunned is bad enough, do they really need a free >half my health gone as well?
The guillotine critting on stunned enemies was a mistake that never should have been implemented
Not realising you've been playing a MvM mission with a sniper going silent aim\triggerbot with 22 tours in Two Cities. He even asked during the last wave with 3 tanks "why pyro?" and kept playing Sniper which is sort of useless in that wave, but doesn't matter since a hacker get full advantage.
The joys of CTF... [t]http://i.cubeupload.com/UAzDJG.jpg[/t] Gotta go fast.
The guillotine critting on stunned enemies was a mistake that never should have been implemented
mini-crit at sniper range should also go, since it's impossible to do outside of random spam down a hill.
The guillotine critting on stunned enemies was a mistake that never should have been implemented
Sandman's stun was a mistake that never should have been implemented, either.
The joys of CTF... [t]http://i.cubeupload.com/UAzDJG.jpg[/t] Gotta go fast.
Scout contract day.
Scout contract day.
That'd be funny if half those scouts actually had gun mettle coins
I hate having off days when playing and get salty at literally everything. Every time I die, every time I miss shots, every time I don't get enough kills, you name it. Then there are days where I'm like a God when playing and I don't give a flying fuck what I'm doing and next thing I know when I look at the scoreboard my K/D is something like 60/1, and believe me that has happened before
Ran into this guy on a server http://steamcommunity.com/profiles/76561198206909129 His "cheat" involved him sliding around as a soldier and his conch was healing him faster than a medic letting him tank 100s of damage. Of course the enemy team wouldn't kick him. Some guy on our team said it was a lag switch but I can't really find much information on how they work.

I rather hope this won't become the new LMAO box but since they patched part of that it might catch on more.

Called him a cheater, switched teams, attempted votekick, failed, left server. All you can do.
Every time I play this new game mode (it's honestly good, do not get me wrong) there's some full lime green Scout who acts like he's the only one in the game and whines whenever he doesn't have the ball.

Of course the enemy team wouldn't kick him. Some guy on our team said it was a lag switch but I can't really find much information on how they work.
Lag switches are physical switches in an Ethernet cable, or a software version which temporarily cuts off the internet connection to the server, allowing you to effectively 'pause' the game, move around and 'unpause' it. It was well known in Halo cheating as you could turn on your switch, walk up to someone and melee them, then turn it off again and be elsewhere. The player who was killed would only see you appearing in front of them then disappearing again in seconds. Technical speak: It stops the client sending packets of info to the server. The switch creates a clog in the pipe as it were, and when you turn it off - it spams the server with packets of information (which should have gone in the first place) - making it confused as to where you are, which makes you teleport all over the place but on your screen you're walking normally. That conch guy wasn't lag switching (as the conch would still go down and he'd be more teleporting all over) he was probably using a fork of LMAObox. I've seen aimbot heavies taunting, while also shooting their miniguns so anything is possible. That guy really is full of himself. Offering to sell his "item cheats" to people on an obvious alt account, and being part of a group called "100% cheating :^)". Maybe he should download a hack which cuts his ego down in size before he suffocates from it filling the room.
When I join a CTF/Payload Race server after several minutes of loading and I hear: "Mission ends in 60 seconds"
When I join a CTF/Payload Race server after several minutes of loading and I hear: "Mission ends in 60 seconds"
Or when the map switches right as you finish loading.
Or when it switches as you're loading. [editline]20th August 2015[/editline] And you have a contract on that map.
The server browser really should display the time left on the map.
So, according to Muselk's video, sandman's ball apparently counts as a melee attack, meaning if you hit someone with the ball a mile away the ball will instantly teleport that distance to your hand
in simpler words it has no fall-off yes that has been known for a while
Trying to do a Powerhouse contract (Wins for bonus points) on Valve's servers. A map like this really does wonderfully display the shortcomings of the playerbase and QP's shitty idea of dumping all sorts of skill levels and attitudes into one server (I wish to god we get tiered Valve pubs for different ranks/skill levels with the MM update or later). I can't count how many games in a row now my team has taken middle, but when it came to actually pushing for last, they either couldn't resist trying to do it with 6+ Snipers, Spies and bad Engies not building forward teleporters, or they just plain ol' sucked and couldn't get past a couple of Sentries in predictable places even with Medic support (= me). Inevitably, after 30+ minutes of desperately trying alone as a power class, or being one of like 3 guys on our team to actually display any intent on winning the round, we start to get pushed back by the other team that gets a couple of Medic combos with power classes as new folks join their team. And then they proceed to roll my sorry-ass team in 5 minutes, demonstrating first-hand the crushing power of having enough Medics and the right pockets to protect them. To add insult to injury, their Engies often display the ability to actually place down forward teleports and level 3 nests at the first opportunity when they finally retake middle - while the 2-3 Engies on our team manage to ''defend'' last or our base's insides even when we're clearly holding middle and trying to push for enemy last. And they never get a useful teleport up, making walking to the enemy base take ages. The map almost always requires super intense concentrations of firepower (Soldiers, Heavies, Demos) and Medics to smash through a turtling defense - especially that fucking launch room, which is just one large choke that only has two narrow, predictable entrances leading into it. If the other team has a bunch of Sentries and heavy classes with a Medic in there, you're gonna need all the Ubers and heavy explosives firepower you can muster. But with too many light classes and half-useless Snipers and Engies content with just camping middle, there's no friggin' way to break through many times. That's my experience of the map on 90% of Valve servers. A mix of the map's tendency to stalemate in the rocket launch room, low average skill, poor class choices (especially from teams trying to take last), lack of Medics, and a lack of balls/attacking mentality on many players' part. It just leads to the kind of stalemates I absolutely despise - getting funneled into a narrow area by the map's layout, with no good flanks, and trying to push through that spam-filled area with a terrible class composition and no Medic (or one that doesn't have enough protection due to the shitton of bad Spies and Snipers). I'm really not that good at the game, but when I've got 60+ points well into the round, while the rest of my team are at 25 or less, and the other team clearly outscore us by a wide margin, and I'm literally one of only 2-3 people trying to break into the other team's last, and WE'RE the ones holding mid and ''attacking'', I just fucking now the other team's gonna roll us eventually when they feel like it and negate my 30+ minutes of trying hard as fuck to secure victory for our team. I kinda understand the folks (especially on contracts) that just teamswitch to a clearly more reasonably constituted team at the first opportunity, but so far I've had too much pride to stack teams, even in the face of contract requirements. But the temptation to just go ''fuck it, you guys are losing the MVP and one of the few guys that've been holding our control of mid and our offense together, now try and stop their Medic combos with just shitty Snipers, mediocre Spies and no Medics'', is very, very high at this point.
