I always laugh so hard when I sap 15 buildings at once and they all go down without me even having to undisguise while engineers rage in the chat rather than reflecting on the situation and realizing that just maybe, if any of them whipped out their primary and clicked twice in my general direction, maybe nothing would have happened. Doesn't happen often that they come to this thread afterwards.
spies that have no self consciousness and don't mind dying 60 times are the most annoying pieces of shit when I try to sap a nest, I always plan according to how I should come out alive. turns out barely anyone does that.

If you're coordinating with your team, a well-timed sap can mean the difference between everything going up in smoke and the defense holding fast against the push. If you get out alive, great. If not, it wasn't for naught. For an objective-focused game, death and dying must take a backseat to the actual goal of the game. Which is why deathmatch won't ever make it into the game officially, death is treated with a handwave all the time. Making it the focus of the game would undermine a lot of what makes TF2's design stand out from the shooters that have come out in the past decade or so. Of course, people who die with futility are annoying as you were saying, but that's not to say that it's a bad habit if they're attempting to coordinate with their team but their team isn't holding up their end of the bargain.
Hightower. It's not a bad map, but it's sucked away 10 days of my life, 10 valuable days. all on hightower on this one server. GIve me a blank piece of paper and I can draw the entire map with locations of healthkits and how much, and that one pyro who thinks it's funny to camp the hightower.

It's relieving when a teamate finished them but it really pisses me off if they catch up to me and all i can think is "why did he want me specifically dead so much? why did nobody kill him?"

After buying a Genuine Brimstone on the market, I've been reminded about the crappy equip regions. Why is it so hard to use them with the Bouffant etc? If only the quickswitch region exploit was working again (the internet one only works until you die/touch the cabinet).

Next step is to get on facepunch and as you are making a post you click on the little picture of a tree. Click on this and it should bring up a insert image here bar. Insert the image url that you copied and it will pop up as the IMG tends to be a bit big for a thread. So replace the [IMG] with [t].

When there's 5 of them in one place, you can't really expect anything of the sort though.
people need to start putting their own life higher on their priority lists dominations just start stacking up over time by themselves, then i get bumrushed by half the enemy team because they wouldnt stop running at heavies and pyros and whatnot
Hey Sniper, stop stealing my metal so I can put up a sentry quicker.
Hey Sniper, stop stealing my metal so I can put up a sentry quicker.
"Hello I am Soldier and I need this large ammo pickup during setup the most to refill the 3 lost rockets on my rocket jumper instead on the Engie setting up his base."
You should go and kill yourself if you do that. So the engi gets metal.
Thats pretty standard practice outside of pubs
maybe I played too much mvm but engi buildings should instantly build to level3 during setup time meds get their free ubercharge so why not
Meds don't really get their free ubercharge though, that's a MvM thing.
30+ sec where you get ubercharge at max rate with no effort or risk is not getting it for free?
Same as you get your buildings free I guess.
Meds don't really get their free ubercharge though, that's a MvM thing.
they do in A/D. as long as you heal one person during the whole time.
Same as you get your buildings free I guess.
didn't we just complain about not being able to do it, like ten posts ago?
For some reason when I play Heavy the Holidat Punch bugs and stucks in the model, not just that but after spinning the minigun for the first time I can't change weapons. Now I can't play Heavy, never. Even if buildings arent level 3 during setup, i think it'd be fair to give them maximum construction rate during setup. Mediguns heal faster, it makes sense buildings should construct faster (you won't have to hit them with your wrench while they're building, for example. only to upgrade them.
Maining Heavy will teach you how to hate. I thought I knew how to hate before I mained Heavy, but that was just a parody of hate, like a child wearing daddy's suit. No, through all the lime scouts spamming binds, the gibus snipers getting Machina body shots, the combo-pyros, the pocket medics that refuse to even acknowledge you, the team that ignores your cries for help, the soldier that pushes you off the teleporter, and the glitches that make you nearly impossible to play effectively, you learn to hate. I am no longer the Heavy that jovially congas during setup, or eats a sandwich with his fellows, I am the grizzled warrior, stepping onto the battlefield, my heart now nothing but a shriveled, black husk, with loathing flowing through my veins, sparing no one, offering no mercy. Heavy will teach you how to hate.
Medic should get ubercharge immediately during set-up so he can have fun congaing and high fiving with his buddies for a minute instead of pointlessly healing for 40 seconds
Medic should get ubercharge immediately during set-up so he can have fun congaing and high fiving with his buddies for a minute instead of pointlessly healing for 40 seconds
The only imbalance I can see with this is the advantage you get from Kritz stickies during set up. Even then, I'm not sure if it'd be that imbalanced.
The only imbalance I can see with this is the advantage you get from Kritz stickies during set up. Even then, I'm not sure if it'd be that imbalanced.
It would. 8 guaranteed Krit stickies and then the ability to pop a second Kritz? Not even talking about the impact on competitive that'd make, it'd just make the first minute of offense trying to come out a door that doesn't have crit stickies on it, or getting blown up. And that's just assuming there's one Demoman and one Medic. If it was bad enough to get disabled in MVM, which is PvE, do you think they'd even consider it for PVP?
you get max ubercharge in setup, but you can't ubercharge until 5 seconds before setup ends there, problem solved.
The only imbalance I can see with this is the advantage you get from Kritz stickies during set up. Even then, I'm not sure if it'd be that imbalanced.
It would be quite imbalanced, and probably make the scotres #1 launcher for initial defense. Imagine a field of crits blooming before Blu spawn as you walk out.
you get max ubercharge in setup, but you can't ubercharge until 5 seconds before setup ends there, problem solved.
Then what's the point of even getting it? You get uber at least 15 seconds before the gates open if you continuously heal anybody normally. A Medic's job isn't to goof off during set-up and conga the entire time, same with the Engineer.
But if there's no real skill or challenge involved in getting uber during set-up time anyway, then making the medics M1 on people during setup is completely arbitrary. If they want to fuck about during set-up, who cares? It's not like there's any actual thought or planning involved in building uber during setup, and if you want to overheal people it's only going to be relevant for like 10 seconds before the round starts anyway.
It really bothers me how Heavy's "iconic" melee weapon is now the GRU, since it's getting all the reskins. The "run slightly faster" gloves. They're really nothing special and aren't that iconic, you barely remember them when you don't have them out because they're just kind of boring. Medic has something like the ubersaw; demo has the eyelander, soldier had the equalizer and the now has the market gardener, scout has the sandman, pyro has the axtinguisher. All these have new and interesting mechanics that can change the pace of a game completely and are the original melee unlocks for the class. But the G.R.U.? You don't really use them, you just kind of hold them out. It just goes to show the extent of heavy's unlocks in general, how much effort and creativity goes into them; which is to say not a lot. That and I think they're boring to use and think the KGB should've gotten the reskins instead since they should be more iconic as heavy's first melee unlock. But nope, everything goes to the G.R.U. which is one of 3 good heavy weapons.
