Was there any reason for the Gun Mettle Cosmetic Cases to have their own unique keys besides cluttering up the item index? I don't see why they couldn't have used the Gun Mettle Keys.

As I said earlier, I left Team Fortress 2 for good and only returned because a friend and I needed something to play in the evening till Phantom Pain will come out and he'll disappear forever from the face of Earth Since I've the game installed, I've decided to do some solo matches as well While there could be a lot to say about the current state of the game, the one trend that really baffles me and makes me close the game after roughly ten or so minutes every time is the increasing crowd of people who just won't PLAY the game proper, to the point that one must even DEFEND himself for doing things like killing other players or capping the map's objective Modern Team Fortress 2 has them all: - People who join a match only to stay AFK forever - People who join a match only to trade something to someone - People who saw the most recent griefing video on YouTube and will always try to put the newest trick in action and do nothing else - People who join a match only to dance perpetually in the spawn room - People who join a match only to roam the map aimlessly - People who join a match only to try to pull off dances and the kind with the enemy team - People who join a match only to show off their unusual or laodout around The vote system of course doesn't help matters and votes rarely pass for anyone, including clear hackers (it came to a point where, while I was pretty benevolent with votes myself, nowadays I vote yes to every kicking vote ever just to be sure)
just got out of a server with 3 hackers, Just evading kicks and then coming back with bunk accounts I went to find one of their accounts and just look at this shit, the kid is gloating about hacking, like jesus christ.
Was there any reason for the Gun Mettle Cosmetic Cases to have their own unique keys besides cluttering up the item index? Gun Mettle Cosmetic Keys are for the item creators. Regardless, it makes it far easier to track where the money's going to at the time of purchase rather than the type of crate a key gets slammed into.
I really hope that a portion of the proceeds from Gun Mettle Pass and Key sales going to the mappers makes the TF2 mapping scene flourish again. With TF2 mapping being seemingly lucrative now, it might bring some mappers back into activity and give birth to many newer skilled authors in the future. With a few exceptions (especially Crash), it really feels like most of the current Map Workshop is a repository/museum of years-old maps that haven't beed changed/worked on in a long time, and the rest being joke maps and a thousand variations of 2Fort/Orange/trade/minecraft maps. Don't get me wrong, there's definitely a bunch of them worthy of being made official or at least having the potential to be included in future Campaigns, but when most of them don't see any public playtesting on community servers anymore and a lot of them are just old uploads, there's little chance for them improving further/getting tweaked to be official-worthy.
Why the hell would one have valuable shit on an account one hacks with?
Because they know VAC won't do shit
Yeah, I keep tabs on everyone I've ever reported, they haven't been getting banned for the past few months now. Even the ones that did the most blatant shit like constant 360s while running around and aiming straight up, yet still managing to land every single minigun bullet from any range. Starting to get annoyed about that.
Having 17 Heads, charging at a soldier, swinging right at the end of the charge so you get the swing, hearing the hitsound yet no damage and then the soldier gets a crit rocket. I died inside.

Once I was playing as a Soldier with a Battalion's Backup. I was doing quite well and, after I killed some enemies, the Backup was fully charged. Just in the middle of blowing the horn, I got killed by a random critical rocket.

Most of his inventory was wiped and he had to make a second account sadly.
REMOVE VOTE SCRAMBLE
You know what's really frustrating and tiring? When you jump on PASS to casually snipe and somehow you end up as the main stopping and pushing force of the entire team. I kid you not, all by myself I ended up defending our goal zone at least 10 times, I took care of sentries and their engineers and then scored myself 2 times while my bloody team was doing god knows what somewhere else. It's nice to see my name hovering on top of the scoreboard, at least 30-40 points away from the second best but I could use some bloody help sometimes as well. The entire match I was stressed as fuck trying to stay alive because I knew if I went down, enemy would pretty much have a clear path to scoring. 2 hours of pretty much this on every match and I feel like a truck ran me over and I can barely hold my eyes open.

Valve also doesn't do manual bans because it'd be way too much work. Even if they banned just one person, they'd instantly be getting a lot of backlash for "why not ban X?" or "how come you aren't banning Y?"
I find it unsatisfactory to play medic in valve servers. Some of the people I play with are so bad they don't even try to protect me.

They both just go completely against the point of the game mode
You can shoot from everywhere as a Sniper, i ended up regretting playing that class in PASS :v:

And few days ago snipers weren't even a problem since usually everyone either played scout or engie. But now it's back to normal Valve server meta with 3 snipers at least on each team. I am one of those guys now :c

But now it's back to normal Valve server meta with 3 snipers at least on each team. I am one of those guys now :c
I've only played a few rounds of Pass Time so far, and while I do think the core of the gamemode itself sounds fun and has potential with an organized team and/or a group of friends (and isn't fundamentally broken at its foundations like Mannpower), it simply underestimates the level of random disorganization found on Valve servers, and people's tendency to fuck around and try to friendly/glitch everything, all the time, without giving a shit about the actual objectives. Especially on Beta servers, which literally seem to be a playground for trolls, spycrabs, friendlies, griefers, and fans of NISLT and the like trying to replicate glitches that have since been patched out incessantly. There's chock-full of Scouts that will just run in a straight line into Sentry nests you can clearly hear beeping and you know they're there because they killed you before, stupid. No one seems to want to take out Engies defending on the other team. When I go Soldier/Demo and do it, the rest of my team doesn't take advantage of that because all of the damn Scouts just don't move in when a Sentry's actually down and don't move together as a team or, gasp, actually pass the jack around. On the other end, there's tons of defensive Engies that will always rebuild and always come back to the same place, like busy little working ants with a limited brain capacity, no matter how many times you destroy their nest as a lone wolf entirely on anti-sentry duty (only to get killed/chased off by their teammates after and have your teammates not take advantage of the nest's destruction). And why should they change their ways? Even if they're predictable, if there's enough dumb kamikaze Scouts and not enough anti-sentry people on the other team, their come-back-and-build-in-the-same-spot-for-30-minutes tactics will actually work most of the time. Engies just really feel out of place in the mode and essentially slow down the mode into a variation of CTF with broken sniper sightlines and too many suicidal Scouts , I'd really rather see a truly dynamic gamemode where the other 8 classes have some sort of defensive blocking ability, so the defense has to be played by mobile classes as well instead of relying on camping aimbots. Just my first impressions, only recently got around to try the new mode. Decent idea, tried and tested in older shooters that don't have diverse classes, but some of the classes just don't fit in their stock, non-modified form (mainly Engie, Sniper to some degree, especially with such ridiculous sightlines), and it really requires way too much actual cooperation, non-selfishness and keeping track of your teammates from your average Valve server. Shame, really, can't see this being truly enjoyable unless queueing with a group of friends when MM hits (if the mode is even included in MM then).
When you start doing well as a class and as soon as you notice you're doing well, you become awful.
the worst part of snipers is it's impossible to see how they aim at you. so you can't react or adapt accordingly the next time.
the worst part of snipers is it's impossible to see how they aim at you. so you can't react or adapt accordingly the next time.
The issue with snipers is he is the only long range class in a close to mid range game who is just shoehorned in because theres this unwritten rule that every fps has to have a sniper, we cant remove him now since he is its been out for years but ideally I would have released tf2 without sniper and buffed spy to be the main pick class
When a slight second guess in your original decision causes you to miss a kill/cap/etc
at least in the case of the engineer, it's like "fuck your fun i'm going to steal it" whereas with sniper it's more "fuck your fun, my wang is getting larger" at least personally that's my feeling while playing the two classes.

Either it's told me "More players voted no" or "not enough players voted" and yet - it's so fucking obvious they're hacking! Like you, it's starting to really piss me off that they're coming in all brash, and nothing is being done about it. It's getting embarrassing at this point.
