i think the bread bite would be better suited for warrior's spirit tbh
It really bothers me how Heavy's "iconic" melee weapon is now the GRU, since it's getting all the reskins. The "run slightly faster" gloves. They're really nothing special and aren't that iconic, you barely remember them when you don't have them out because they're just kind of boring. Medic has something like the ubersaw; demo has the eyelander, soldier had the equalizer and the now has the market gardener, scout has the sandman, pyro has the axtinguisher. All these have new and interesting mechanics that can change the pace of a game completely and are the original melee unlocks for the class. But the G.R.U.? You don't really use them, you just kind of hold them out. It just goes to show the extent of heavy's unlocks in general, how much effort and creativity goes into them; which is to say not a lot. That and I think they're boring to use and think the KGB should've gotten the reskins instead since they should be more iconic as heavy's first melee unlock. But nope, everything goes to the G.R.U. which is one of 3 good heavy weapons.
Uhhhh The only melees that are "iconic" are mostly melees that are undoubtedly better in every situation. Sandman isn't even the "Iconic" Scout melee anymore, that belongs to either the Atomizer or default Bat. Ubersaw is the only Medic melee worth using always over the default Bonesaw, and even then it's only gotten a festive reskin. Demo's Eyelander helped introduced a completely new subclass and the concept of subclasses, as it along with the Targe promoted focusing on Grenade precision and tanking damage, and Equalizer? Are you serious? That's almost humourous. The only reason people even remember the Equalizer is because it used to be THE go-to Soldier melee, until the whip was introduced and it was split into two different weapons. Pyro's Axtinguisher was for a long time the only melee worth using, until it got nerfed and the Powerjack got buffed. GRU sits in the same boat as the other melees, in that it's better 95% of the time (the only time I, as a pro competitive Heavy, use the Fists of Steel is when we're defending our last point on 5CP or A/D because otherwise the speed lets me support my Demoman and combo at a much faster rate). The TF team isn't giving it the MVP treatment because it's "iconic", they're giving it said treatment because they know it's the most widely used weapon, and they'll make the most profit off of it. The melees aren't "iconic" anyways. You want weapons that are iconic? The only iconic melee is the Demoman's bottle, because it fits his character the most out of his weapons, otherwise the iconic weapons are the Scattergun, the Rocket Launcher, the Flamethrower/Degreaser, the Minigun, the Wrench, the Medi Gun, the Sniper Rifle, and the stock Knife.
I've expressed before how irrelevant Valve has made the heavy before, I won't say it again.
It would be quite imbalanced, and probably make the scotres #1 launcher for initial defense. Imagine a field of crits blooming before Blu spawn as you walk out.
And a wave of ubered airblasting pyros blowing them away. What a sight to behold...
Doesn't really make sense to give the Bread Bite to anything other than the GRU unless they buff something else tbh. Heavy melee attacks just aren't worth it when you could just shoot them with a minigun.
the only reason I felt annoyed we got Bread Bite as Gru is because we already got Festive Gru that year as well, so it felt kind of redundant. Also not gonna lie, a Bread Monster themed sandvich would have been funny imo
the soldier that pushes you off the teleporter
That one at least is fixable. Crouch and rev your minigun, can't get nudged.
i still dont get the cooldown you have to go through when trying to switch from your minigun into your secondary/meelee. its even more stupid when you know you can simply use wheelup/down to bypass it.
i still dont get the cooldown you have to go through when trying to switch from your minigun into your secondary/meelee. its even more stupid when you know you can simply use wheelup/down to bypass it.
Did you know, if you hold the grappling hook as heavy for too long, you can't even switch to your Melee? You HAVE to switch to your primary. (From me using the 'quick weapon switch', and the wheel to change weapons)
It bugs me how mann power literally turns into "what team has the most of the same class" by the end of any game.
That one at least is fixable. Crouch and rev your minigun, can't get nudged.
Use a 'hold' taunt works as well. This includes taunts such as the High Five or Flip. Even if they initiate the taunt, you'll still not move from the teleporter and will teleport through regardless if the taunt animation is playing or you're still doing the hold taunt. Very useful for engineers.
Friendlies who go heavy when you dominate them... 'nuff said...
Not that I respect friendlies or anything, but I don't think you should be annoyed because you annoyed them to rage.
Friendlies who go heavy when you dominate them... 'nuff said...
That annoyes you? :v: Might be just me but that genuienly always makes me happier because I just made that waste of server slot go and actually play the game. That's practically a victory.
Soldiers that run back to get health even though I have an ubercharge on him AND I am healing him.
Friendlies who go heavy when you dominate them... 'nuff said...
Oh no, not Heavy! It's impossible to play around Heavy, the slowest, most easily avoidable class in the game!
Soldiers that run back to get health even though I have an ubercharge on him AND I am healing him.
I've actually had a soldier steal a health kit from me as a medic, and told me "don't worry you'll regen it back"
Oh no, not Heavy! It's impossible to play around Heavy, the slowest, most easily avoidable class in the game!
Heavy is the only class I consistently die to, I hate that shit so much.
Heavy is the only class I consistently die to, I hate that shit so much.
heavy crits + bullets going around corners when I only have 70 ping He makes up for his mobility with 90% chance to get crits and air bending bullets, fucking heavy
That annoyes you? :v: Might be just me but that genuienly always makes me happier because I just made that waste of server slot go and actually play the game. I really hate friendly heavies that throw sandwiches at people that I actually try to fight.
Snip, misread a comment
When people get mad at you for no discernible reason. I'm playing defense on Badwater Basin, and during setup I tell the engy that I'm going to kill myself to give him more metal, which I do. He then calls me a retard and switches teams. I just don't understand.
I really hate friendly heavies that throw sandwiches at people that I actually try to fight.
as someone who does this, very sorry (although i mostly do this if the enemy is being friendly and it's just a gibus scout trying to melee him) on topic, stupid sentry places, especially on the non-linear maps and in the corridor no one takes.
Soldiers that run back to get health even though I have an ubercharge on him AND I am healing him.
Sometimes i will run to healthpacks while i'm healed because the medic is a bit low, but he stares at me in confusion when i stand next to the healthpack yelling YES YES GO GO GO YES GO GO GO
Degreaser and Reserve Shooter combo is infinitely more annoying than Axtinguisher ever was. Stunlock + virtually instant guarenteed shotgun minicrits for the massive penalty of effectively nothing.
Degreaser and Reserve Shooter combo is infinitely more annoying than Axtinguisher ever was. I don't mind the flaregun as a concept, but it pisses me off because as nearly any class a single flare cuts me down to just above half of my health, and if i'm already damaged i always end up in the red. all from a single flare. Don't get me started on if they dedicate themselves to trying to hit me with a second. Pyro is supposed to be the king of closerange fights, so why the hell is he given the ability to make me scramble for a healthpack with a single hit across the map?

Aren't I a dick? lol
