Stuff that Annoys you in TF2: bind m1 say "( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)" edition
No thanks. Getting hit by a 3 damage pellet from a scattergun across the map is annoying enough.
I am not serious, just saying terrible thought out nerfs with little to know counter play for the class getting nerfed is dumb. Im fine with getting him tweaked to have better counterplay but the people who are happy with the current nerf are either just at a low skill level "no offense intended its just true that better players who know how to fight it tend to not have a problem while some players who are unaware or like to over extend find themselves at the wrong end of a sword crit more. I feel like the same people who complained about tide turner complain about pyro, mainly because both classes succeed when the enemy is unaware." Tide turners 75% charge thing was fine, but the drain is pointless and any player decent enough to breath on you shuts down your charge, I even mged against smg snipers and needle gun medics and they could win most of the time. The current nerf is dumb and either the charge drain needs to be entirely removed or just replaced with a better alternative that requires more than an enemy sneezing on you to stop.

How the paints on this item got ruined because people sperged out at the idea of it being painted lime, even though people who would paint it lime could just use another misc.
Like come on, there's a difference between subtle and barely noticeable.
When I'm doing super great on a random valve server, then 5 people join who have 10000+ kill strange weapons and ugly ugly cosmetics and just start wrecking shit and then I can't play any more because they just splatter my team and spamming trash talk binds. Isn't there some sort of server for you people to go to so us normal players can simply have fun? Do your strange weapons not have enough kills on them yet? Are your egos not inflated enough already?

It's pretty much universal. A group of friends with all strange and unusual items might hop on to a pub and wreck most average players. I don't mind as long as they don't purposely act like assholes trashtalking over the mic and with bind spam. It can be a fun challenge. You'll run into such, shall i say, 'invested' players on rotating map servers with more frequency than on those boring 24/7 pubs, though.
I think pubs would be a lot better if they'd just rotate maps and let people vote on new/custom maps.
This can't possibly fail

Needs Danger Shield or Vaccinator Medic (or why not both) to be truly perfect.

Comp team leader gave everyone the wrong time for todays match and then didn't update the thread with the right time so i missed out on playing the match because i was busy and only took the original (wrong) time into account when making my schedule.
Now I'm sad because playing highlander is some of the only fun i can get out of TF2 nowadays.

At least you're even on a team right now.
Playing Heavy is a pain when nobody needs it, right now I'm pretty much roster riding a gold team, chances are I won't get a main spot this season either.

I'm surprised that more teams aren't begging for a Heavy. Literally the class with the least amount of mains in NA.
I'm annoyed by the fact that my playtime as each class is balanced so I don't have one true main and as a result am not that great at any one class.
If I did join a highlander team I'd say Engie would be the class I'm both good at and is probably in demand. But still. Could be better with him.
I'm not in any team because nobody finds me skilled enough or useful. Also it may be because I have no idea how to find teams :v:
Quite a shame, though. I've heard the comp community is not as unbearable as the general pub community.

You'd think so, especially considering my credentials. I could probably get a sub spot on a Plat team, if any of them actually needed a Heavy.
I sure love it when I have a fresh jarate looking for a group of targets and suddenly I see half the enemy team.
I also love quickly sending the liquid gold flying, destined to land in the middle of the enemy group and to let me see the assists light up the death log.
What I don't love is when a scout appears to have every single particle in his body quantum tunnel from an unknown position just to be observed perfectly assembled again exactly a millimeter in front of my jarate a moment later, catching it before instantly dying once the enemy group sees him.
:suicide:

Check out ETF2L, not sure about their season scheduling but I know they're a pretty good free EU league (as opposed to Euro UGC iron which is nothing but sandbaggers and 12-year-olds)
I have a friend on Steam, a well-meaning kid, but naive.
He was hacked by those "check out my screenshot.exe" bots.
Sad day.

I wouldn't call those phishing tools 'hacking'. They just preyed on naievity. Hacking implies skill, which pasting a program didn't involve.
I have some guy on my friend list who's fallen for those things twice now, he has nearly 3k hours in TF2. I mean, how. Not once, but twice.
How about when the teams are almost perfectly balanced and the rounds are having great back and forth play, like double overtime in KOTH or a near tie in PLR, and then someone calls a scramble because they got killed a few times in a row and it somehow goes through and it ends up with the most stacked and horribly unbalanced teams you can imagine.
I really really really hate random crits. They just suck so badly.
Whacking on a pyro with the eylander and the targe, TF2 goes "he needs crits", and he turns around and kills me instantly.
In a melee fight with another enemy, he gets crit powers and stretches his arms to smack me in the face.
Escape from a lost battle only to be pistoled from across the map by a crit wielding scout.
And Soldiers and maybe demos are the Worst offenders, getting crits every other shot.
And before you say "go on a nocrits server dummy" Well there aren't any in my area that have players.
And something not crit related, but why is the caber's explosiveness linked to clientside melee registration and not server registration? This results in me exploding on an enemy, but they take no damage because the shot didn't register.

this problem ahs been around for too long for valve to have done nothing but remove /some/ links from profiles.
can you stop focusing on ruining the community market and start focusing on people like this valve?
on topic:
not sure if this happens in pc tf2, but console tf2
when the opposing team of the host wins the game and the host rage quits (forcing the entire server to get kicked from the game)

Curious, why do people still play console TF2? PC version is free for all OSes and runs on toasters, and is ten hundred times more updated than console version.
And technically it can happen on PC but I've never been on a server that isn't hosted on an actual server rack.

Honestly, I have no idea. I would say some people might not have internet but without it you can't play xbox tf2, some people might not have Steam but that and TF2 are both free.
It might be just for nostalgia purposes or they might just prefer it. You can't use chat on it so I've never really bothered to ask anyone, but personally I just use it when I'm bored and because most servers I go on PC are really laggy for me.

I occasionally delve into TF2 on my Jailbroken PS3 because I can mod the hell out of it (It's a DEX (Debug) so I can memory edit as it plays) and exploit things like Jellyhopping. PC TF2 is leagues better but console TF2 is like a guilty pleasure for once in a blue moon.
Playing tf2 with a controller just sounds like a nightmare
Things like rocket jumping would barely exist
Playing tf2 with a controller just sounds like a nightmare

I spent part of last night teaching my friend who plays solely with a controller the basics of rocket jumping. It was... an experience. On a humorous note (also slightly annoyingly) for whatever reason whenever he hits attack he also calls for medic. It's kinda funny for a bit, but when he plays heavy it can be rather annoying.

I don't have a wired controller so I have to ask, is there any difference that people feel when playing it on the PC with a controller? (another question on my mind is how would you use things like air blast/ hauling or voice commands?)

Don't you have to pay money for Xbox Live anyway? Seems kind of useless and archaic IMO.
But I guess if it was one of your first games then I can see how it'd give you a nostalgic feeling.

Well don't you have to pay for internet and a computer too? Anyway I was just on and surprisingly most people told me that it was because they didn't like the p2w/le lenny face things in the game. Which, well, I guess I can see their point.
