Engineer seems pretty normal along with spy, and heavy just doesn't talk alot
"normal"
Doesn't help that lately Valve has written Heavy delivering his lines in third person (Heavy is flying! Dying just make Heavy mad! You cannot hide from pink pony Heavy! etc) so he sounds really quite dumb. He used to refer to himself as "I" like normal, why can't that still be a thing
[editline]15th February 2015[/editline]
I'm pretty sure the Russian language doesn't have people referring to themselves in the third person so it doesn't make sense anyway, it's like the Medic saying "Medic is fully charged!"
I've always just [del]pretended for my sanity[/del] assumed that it's just an act. He keeps morale up by playing the part of the big dumb tough guy.
Also, as I said in my post, he's super excitable when he's killing 'bad guys' and kinda gets into it too much.
Pyro could possibly even be an evil genius and pyroland is a representation of how it feels doing its job, as opposed to it actually being crazy.
Plus he brought a company to financial success in the Ring of Fired comic, so it can get a high ranking job pretty easily which bores it pretty easily also.
I kinda agree. Soldier and Scout are both 100% stupid. The rest though...
Pyro and Medic are completely bonkers; however, the Medic at least is a genius.
Sniper has major temper issues and apparently is pretty paranoid, but he's of at least average intelligence, and not too bad beyond the whole throws-piss-at-people,has-no-hygiene-whatsoever thing.
Demoman is actually a nice guy when he's sober, and has to be at least averagely intelligent. When he's drunk (as he is almost all the time), he's an unstable wreck, but a supremely competent one.
Spy is pretty intelligent, but doesn't seem terribly interested in other people's business so we don't see much of that. Mentally stable once you get past him being a sadistic assassin, too.
Heavy and Engie are both very smart, probably the smartest mercs, and also very quiet. Engie might be a little nuts, but Heavy is just excitable sometimes.
Really, the only probably most of them have is being totally oblivious.
Engie is probably the most sane out of all the mercs. While the Heavy is smart, it's obvious he suffered some mental trauma watching his father, a man he must have admired immensely, being dragged away from him to be executed and his family being sent to Siberia to work until they died.
I recall PNatI hinting at his experiences turning into somewhat of a sadist with an incredibly cynical world view.
or maybe he's just a quiet guy who enjoys his work.
Scout's a book dumb character and Pyro is probably mentally insane
For everyone else they have some sort of condition or character trait that's preventing them from being normal, like Sniper being bipolar, Demo being alcoholic, and Medic being batshit crazy.
Since when is Sniper bipolar?
Doesn't help that lately Valve has written Heavy delivering his lines in third person (Heavy is flying! Dying just make Heavy mad! I seem to remember from linguistics that Russian has some limitations when translating to English.
[editline]15th February 2015[/editline]
Nevermind, Russian does use personal pronouns. It does not have definite or indefinite articles, however.
WHO THE HELL TAUNTS WHILE UBERED
I had a guy get this achievement on me once, was genuinely confused wtf he was even doin. The trophy sprite did not show up on the killcam.
I kinda miss the grumpy war vet Soldier.
Soldier has always been an idiot, but I feel like Valve plays it up a wee bit too much.
I just want more insults from spy, probably my favorite part of TF2's writing these days is spy's one liners and it's been ages since we've gotten any general gameplay lines
All I want is class specific domination lines for Heavy.
Pubstompers who have a person on the other team just to do reconnaissance with their skype buddies.
At least go spectator so you aren't wasting a slot on my team, no matter how much of an asshat you want to be.
Can't kick him for cheating either because "I'm not an aimbot, how am I cheating? lol" somehow convinces the entire server.
Edit: Even better, being kicked on the final wave of MvM for seemingly no reason. A+ credit rating, no waves lost, but NOPE YOU'RE NOT GOOD ENOUGH
All I want is class specific domination lines for Heavy.
I'd love some more voice responses for Engineer's "Positive" voice command. All other classes have short laughters whereas Engineer only says "Well don't that beat all?". According to TF2 Wiki, there's a number of Engineer's laughters but they're only heard if you hit him while being in Pyroland.
I dunno I kind of like going WELL DON'T THAT BEAT ALL a million times while crit-wrenching a horde of enemies
Well, don't that beat all.
These kind of people... anger issues much? Yes, I am badfish, fukfish, that soldier, cancer pyro etc
I put this together for fun and reflection

May be hard to read but I play tf2 in a small res and the letters were too small with the original size. People like these ruin everything though.

Just... mute them?
If I wanted to "adapt" to "metagames" I wouldn't be playing TF2. When I play TF2, I do so intending to have relax doing anything I want without people using OP shit to shut me down. Yeah I could go tryhard direct hit soldier but I really wanted to just tauntkill bad snipers today.
If we were talking about rockvees in Zero Hour I'd agree, git gud and quit bitching, it's an old-school competitive game for pros. TF2 isn't necessarily.
Before I begin this little rant let me tell you that I am in no way a competitive/experienced player. I fuck up loads and I tend to mess around when I get bored, but my goodness are some of the players on pub servers brain dead. I can't tell you how hard it is to find a server where upon joining a team I am NOT greeted with 7 snipers, 5 of which are far more interested in staring at walls than playing the game. I mean I get the tutorial for the game is kind of bad and it has been a long time since I played it, but I'm pretty sure it told me to shoot the guys that are of a different color not take in the beautiful sights of fucking map.

Sometimes when I see players doing stupid shit I get mad, but then I sit back and think what the fuck are they doing behind the keyboard.
And usually I picture some Hispanic kid who just found out about this game last Thursday, spent the past week downloading it onto his mom's old 2002 VAIO laptop running Windows XP, and finally connected to a server after hours of waiting.
There's a special place in the 9th layer of hell for Natascha Heavies.
There's a special place in the 9th layer of hell for Natascha Heavies.
I'd rather meet a natascha heavy around the corner than a default/huolong heavy :P
people who are unable to adapt and bitch about every single thing that kills them
aka people who wine about minisentries/sticky traps/good positioned sniper etc
Switching away from a class you have fun using like Pyro or Scout to go Hunstman Sniper or Soldier, or avoiding a certain part of the map entirely, just because one guy on the other team decided to use the gunslinger or is really good at Sniper, is not fun. I play TF2 primarily to have fun. If you're against fun, get the fuck off pubs and play UGC or whatever.
There's a special place in the 9th layer of hell for Natascha Heavies.
Unless you're a Demoknight main Natascha is worse than stock. It's not the best concept for a weapon, but considering how rare I see it used I'd say there's plenty worse.
A rant about dominations.
Being a bad player that I am, dominations are one of the more frustrating parts of tf2. In concept you're fight against a guy, and get manages to get the drop on you, then you manage to get a lucky shot and get revenge. Which is alright.
The issue is, it almost never happens that way. The person/s dominating you are usually behind a wall of teammates and dominate you purely through 5 damage assists, or get nothing but crits and dominate you that way, or the teams are stacked like the empire state building and there's no way you can really fight back.
The worst part is they usually use it to gloat and spread ill will. That and the fact the game pretty much protects the person dominating the other person. (they get crits, your shot doesn't register, you don't get an assist on them even though you did 80 damage to them)
Imo, stuff like random crits and dominations should be removed from tf2. All they do is make a huge dividing line between skilled players and newer players.
or you could just work on getting better at the game instead of resigning yourself to badness and letting meaningless dominations bother you
or you could just work on getting better at the game instead of resigning yourself to badness and letting meaningless dominations bother you
I am, but there's only so much you can do. (Also the fact that tf2 feels the need to constantly remind you that you suck.)
I'm much better than what I previously was, and can top the scoreboard by points alone, but I'm still an awful shot, and some days I can't hit the broadside of a barn.
(tf2's melee system doesn't help)
I get attacked verbally on servers if I mention, due to there being an ongoing discussion, that I don't THINK ( notice its a fucking opinion ) the Gunslinger & Dead Ringer & Enforcer & RTR & Sydney Sleeper & FaN( etc. ) are as annoying as they are made out to be. Then, someone tends to throw statistics at me and try to prove that these things are annoying. I don't care about your tf2 wiki numbers and 560 word essays on the Gunslinger, its my opinion people.
This is one of the reasons that if Steam bugs out again and uninstalls Tf2, I might end up leaving it uninstalled because being shouted for not disliking what others dislike is irritating. Same with when people call me a brony, as if its an insult, because I don't instantly assault someone if they have a MLP steam profile picture / in a MLP group. Do I HAVE to hate what you hate? No, fuck off.
I hate that heal assist count toward a domination. Trust me I already have a lot of people aiming for my head when I am playing medic, should they also be fueled to kill me by the fact that I have a domination over them?

So you're that guy that offers nothing useful to the conversation. The guy who'll go into a tech support thread and claim "I don't have an issue" and act that the issue no longer exists. The guy who'll ignore actual statistics being presented to him and stick to his guns because "it's my opinion." If you're going to jump into a debate, expect to actually debate instead of presenting your opinion and not being prepared to back it up with things beyond "I don't have problems with it. Why can't you all be as perfect as me?"
If you can actually back up your claims, great. You did a horrible job at making that evident, but great. If not, you're incredibly short-sighted. Opinions can be wrong and refusing to update one's views when presented a compelling argument is stubborn.
