I hate going up against Soldiers with the Black Box and Conch, more so when they have a Medic.
It's like, I should just quit right then and there. The Black Box should do less damage while being healed by a Medic, and give +30HP on a kill, not +15HP on a hit.
The Black Box is always quick to receive all the slack when it's the conch that's the true crutch, getting passive regen with less than zero effort and practically no downsides is disgusting - you should receive less health from all other sources with the thing equipped.

The downside is the lack of a shotgun, which you'll need when dealing with air-blast spamming pyro's, scouts and when your rocket launcher runs out of ammo in the middle of a fire-fight.
Though I will admit together as a combo its very annoying to deal with, more so if the soldier has a medic healing him.
I taunted someone after getting what I thought was an impressive airshot with the LnL and it just devolves from there into the other guy taunting after every kill and assist and posting "ez" in chat whenever he gets a crit. Some people pubs way to seriously. Actually more than that, the general lack of sportsmanship that I keep increasingly encountering annoys me greatly.
Probably because they don't know the reason why you taunted. Directs with the lnl aren't that impressive either. So they maybe thought you were just trying to antagonise them and they responded accordingly. Taunts after kills are not sportsmanlike.

then why bother?
they're called taunts because you're taunting your enemy by doing it

I can barely hit the broadside of a barn with the LnL, much less make consistent hits on double jumping scouts. Anyways it wasn't just me that he started antagonizing, and was generally shitting on even his own team. Anyways there is a difference between an occasional "haha gotcha" and constantly going "lol get reckt scub, uninstall faggot". Unless you know the person and both have no issue with trashing eachother of course.
I play on EU servers, I've 2000 hours in the game, and I still haven't heard someone use the goddamn Voice Chat function, unless they had to speak with someone they already knew.
I got micspammed once, a year ago.

Being an European playing on valve servers I usually hear a lot of children using the voice chat. Usually they will do some roleplaying in their own language and then someone older who just went through puberty with a thick accent will go: "Ey kid, shut the fffffuck up!"
That's my experience, at least. I caught my little bro screaming (10 at the time) into the mic once when he was playing tf2.
Also, I don't use voice chat because people call me a squeaker... They think I'm an 8 year old boy..:v: Other people just don't care about communication, they just wanna have fun.
Can spy just be fucking removed from the game he's only there to be a huge asshole and everyone who plays him seems to be a cocky asshole who doesn't shut the fuck up every time they backstab you and sap your shit.
sorry for being rude and ranting slightly but fuck spies and their bullshit
[editline]19th February 2015[/editline]
i fucking swear it's like
OH YOU GOT BACKSTABBED AND NOW ALL YOUR BUILDINGS HAVE BEEN DESTROYED IN 0.5 SECONDS TOO BAD YOU DIDN'T CHECK EVERY FUCKING PIXEL OF THE ROOM AND ALL OTHER ADJACENT ROOMS BETTER LUCK NEXT TIME

A bit on the nose with the whole buildings thing
You should consider that Engineers are a prime target for Spies and that your number one priority when building is to constantly check your surroundings so you won't get stabbed
But thanks to spies it means that engineers are forced to constantly stay next to their buildings and can't leave them for more than 2 nanoseconds. Plus the fact spies can place sapper after sapper with literally no cooldown is bullshit

Obviously there aren't any pyros on your team.

Part of Engineer's design is that his buildings are vulnerable when left alone. If you leave your Sentry behind even a Scout could take it out
strange awper hands are 65 fucking dollars
seriously community market, fucking seriously
Give it time. once the flood of tradeable and marketable awper hands comes in, they'll probably take a big hit in price.
Give it time. once the flood of tradeable and marketable awper hands comes in, they'll probably take a big hit in price.
Exactly! It was the same for the S.Festive Shotgun. Gifted and the first batch to be released from that idiotic cooldown period sold for £35-£40 on the market or items equivalent.
Once the flood started - £5-£10 for it currently.

I often look at the Conch's regen rate, then look at the Cozy Camper, then back at the Conch, and ponder on how many injustices there really are in the world. I remember when the Conch got the speed buff and I went "wow this weapon is good I'm going to use it a lot more." Then the travesty known as Christmas 2013 came around and it got the regen buff and I was like why.

So basically, we can make a huge profit by just buying 65$ worth of keys and keep using them on the new crate, I'm pretty sure I'm gonna find a Strange awp before I run out of keys, right?

Basically, yeah.
Even all the ones on TF2outpost are untradable and everybody's trying to get around a buds for them for some stupid reason, probably because they're untradable.

Engineers shouldn't have to have a Pybro guarding their nest 24/7. As a class he should be more independent and not have to constantly stand near his buildings. The Rescue Ranger is a step in the right direction but he really needs a way to remotely remove Sappers too.
I'd rather Spies not have infinite sappers.

Sentries are an incredibly powerful force, and Dispensers and Teleporters make a huge difference. If the game was changed in such a way that Engineers didn't have to be responsible for maintaining them then they'd be too difficult to take care of and defending would be even easier, especially on the last point of maps like Upward and Barnblitz
[editline]20th February 2015[/editline]
Unless they're put in a dumb spot or way far away from your team an Engineer shouldn't have to always be directly inside his camp, just close by

I'm not saying that Engineers should be able to wander far away from their nest, but they should be given a bit more freedom with movement. I only ever see Engineers maintaining their buildings or running to them after respawning. They can't move away for fear of Spies, which can easily take out a nest left unguarded for even a few seconds.

Dunno how alone I am with this opinion, but I think only Medic should have passive regen.
Regen isnt too disruptive. Regen only bugs me from things like black box. Fighting is a bitch because they get chunks of health back conch i don't mind because it's a slower set amount that only impacts if the soldier wins the fight, otherwise it rarely saves him
Taunts after kills are not sportsmanlike.
That's the point of why they're in the game in the first place. If someone gets pissy because you taunted them, the taunt is working as intended.
Yes, angering people is always a completely viable strategy, it makes them tunnel vision at you which prevents them from going after the objective. However, I would rather it only be done through taunting, not through binds and chat messages.
Why the fuck isn't there a vote for random crits
Why the fuck isn't there a vote for random crits
because unless you're playing the game at a competitive level, random crits make the game more fun and exciting
there's nothing better than a critical rocket explosion into the middle of an enemy team's push.
most pubs with higher level players are nocrit or have votes for it anyway.

Im fairly certain a good portion of he playerbase doesnt find randumb crits "fun". If anything they are extremely annoying especially when trying to use weapons like the air strike, or buff banner.
