Huh, that's pretty neat, people who never used the Sticky Launcher for traps can now even more effectively use it for offense.
Also I had no idea Smissmas even happened minus Mannpower, I thought that was the ONLY thing that happened.
Except people still use the stock Stickybomb Launcher anyways because it's still better even with the nerfs that did rather little
Strawman argument.
Balance can still be maintained in a casual, for fun atmosphere and fun can co-exist with skill-based, competitive gameplay
Proof that just throwing things in without considering gameplay balanced to make something fun for the "casual" crowd: Random crits as a mechanic, random tripping in Brawl
Alright, but what's the main beef of the mode itself?
Capture the flag, capture point and so on and so forth are distinct game modes that have very different objectives and gameplay required. You can easily tell them from one another, they are unique
Mannpower's main gimmick is to give you a taste of power in the form of collectable power-ups and move around with grapling hooks while playing an usual ctf match (and since the score to win is set to 10, it's easy to predict no one will capture the flag ever and try to induce an endless stalemate. Which are the main reasons ctf sucks as a game mode in Team Fortress 2, at least as far as I'm concerned)

The beef as far as I know is that it isn't balanced in the least bit. It wasn't balanced when it was released, and it's only slowly edging towards being balanced now.
People who use demoman and only use their stickybomb launcher. I honestly hate this.
that's like complaining about soldiers only using their rockets instead of the shotgun :\
Stickybomb Launcher is basically a rocket launcher for the demoman, easy as shit and does a lot of damage
Stickybomb Launcher is basically a rocket launcher for the demoman, easy as shit and does a lot of damage
it's his primary weapon, easy against absolute trashcans, and pretty well balanced compared to the travesty that is heavy/engi
Playing as Spy, running around cloaked, only to suddenly and unavoidably burst into giblets because a critical sticky bomb went off on the same continent.

Except it's basically a hard counter to pyros since he'll usually detonate the bombs before you can reflect them back, if you can reflect them they'll be detonated before they reach the demoman, and you can't walk toward him because he'll just detonate on you, if you walk backwards he won't die

you're making it sound like the pyro has a chance against competent soldiers either
IMO, airblasted stickybombs should be able to hurt the enemy team like how Grenades and Rockets do.
Air blasting stickies barely does anything right now.
Bushwacka+jarate is such an utterly bullshit combo. How often do pyros even come in contact with a Sniper in a way that 20% damage would make any difference at all?

The most hilarious part is that Jarate completely negates fire, so hassling Snipers with flare potshots, the one situation that could actually make the downside useful, doesn't mean anything.

When you votekick some idle players a few times and it never goes through, but then someone votekicks you with "accused of cheating" and it succeeds.

When you join a server, and before you even get to the class selection screen, you hear that familiar sound of a vote window.
i think "Oh, I hope it's not one of these servers where people keep votescrambling or votekicking guys, I don't think I'm gonna enjoy this server"
Immediatly after, the vote success sound "Wow, if they all agree so fast on a vote, then it's not that ba-"
"You have been voted off"
...
what
Fuck heavies. They are the sole and only reason I want to get into 6s rather than highlander.
On an unrelated note, does tf2 run on FreeBSD?

It should?

Does freebsd have the required libs and shit?
The way donations are handled in some servers.
I like servers that give you a name in chat or cosmetic stuff or things like that if you donate.
"Donate and recieve our lovely love! :D"
Those servers I like, it doesnt change anything gameplay wise. What I am NOT okay with are servers that are like this:
"Donate $10 to become a temporary admin for 1 month!"
"Donate for a VIP slot that kicks other players because they are less important than you!"
"Donate for VIP benefits like instant sentry, noclip, and even godmode!"
I hate those servers that display a pay2win style of tf2.
Why do Valve servers like to cut A/D games short for the next map. Someone needs to explain the reasoning behind that. The game will end eventually in a set time so why stop it suddenly halfway through. At least PLR or 5cp can go on endlessly so I can see cutting them short.
My second post on this site.
Check out this funny RubberFruit playlist.

Reserved slots are okay if they're done correctly. Having 24 visible slots, while no extra reserve slots so that it kicks the players if a donor comes on is bad. Having 24 visible slots, with a few extra reserve slots that cannot be occupied by normal players and only donors/admins, that DON'T kick the regular players on is okay IMO.
(slightly biased because I have a reserved slot on my hightower server)
It's better at offensive combat and crowd control than the GL, tbh. Same thing goes for combo weapons such as the degreaser + flaregun/reserve shooter. If it's better at combat, why settle for less?
I do realize that it is the better weapon, but it still pisses me off :suicide:

The worse servers with donators is the night team by far.
I mean,

I KNEW THERE WAS SOMETHING OFF YESTERDAY.
I wish mini sentries had less knockback. It's really over the top considering how small they are and how hard to approach they are already.
[editline]18th March 2015[/editline]
Also the Powerjack. It's a fucking stupidly overpowered weapon. Increased move speed and an enormous health gain on kill? That's absurd. Yeah, so you only have effectively like 145 HP or something around there. So what? That's still incredibly strong.
-snip-
I've had their servers blacklisted for the longest time now but I never knew just how bad they actually were.

Ability to make critical headshots with both revolvers.
All two of them? Wow!
The other stats have newer weapon upgrades too, so why is that one stat stuck in 2009
also doesn't that make the amby a straight downgrade? why not just say "Stock can now headshot" or not be massive dicks and not have a pay to win server system.
Unlimited clip size for sticky bombs.
Increased sticky bombs clip size to 16.
wow this is a fuckig mess
Is it unlimited or 16?! Tell us, Nighteam!
