the can's effect is applied at the end of the taunt. the phlog's is applied at the start of it. otherwise, the phlog's damage resistance on taunt would be moot.

The phlog is unbelievably poor design in almost every respect.
I like when idiot puffnstingers think airblasting me during my Phlog taunt will make all the problems go away but instead they give me a whole extra second of crits that i proceed to use on them.
Having to look forward to Upward being next in rotation but then someone with bad map taste votes for Hoodoo and it passes.
So this guy was doing decent as Soldier by abusing the Beggar's half reload and just mashed his M1 to victory. It's sad when that's possible.

Even if this is true, they wouldn't need to "re-code" the weapons, they'd just need to change one, maybe two lines of it. They'd just need to replace any instance of the original rocket being called to a new one.
I mean, sure, it might be more work than replacing a file or two, but I'd hardly expect it to be something super ridiculous, otherwise the Air Strike would use the same boring old rocket model we have for everything else.
On that note, gonna bring back an old classic here:
Walking out of the spawn, only be killed near-instantly by a headshot or crit rocket or something of that ilk... And then being sat with a 17 second respawn timer while you watch your team losing.
Trying to sneak behind the enemy lines cloaked as a Spy, then suddenly a friendly Scout runs up to me out of nowhere and I get headshot.
that you can't use pyrovision or romevision without wearing some god awful item

You can have romevision without wearing the hat, you just need it in your backpack

i can airshot, but i never look up or counter rocket jump when fighting other explosive jumping soldiers or demoman as a soldier.

Also ledge abusing, basically corner abusing, but for scouts against soldiers instead of soldiers vs heavys, fuck i can't do that at all either

So I was stuck on Preset B when I was trying to switch to Preset A. It wasn't changing.
Usually, spamming the button for Preset A works, but instead this happened

get one shotted by a critubersaw 100 feet away from me
respawn and chase down a fleeing medic, 1 shotted by a crit ubersaw 100 feet away from me
leave server, join new one. random critted by a lone minigun heavy.
leave server, join new one. critted by a loch n load demo as i turn a corner.
All within the span of a few minutes, this all led to the eventual outcome of me smashing a glass against the floor and uninstalling tf2. literally both of these things are true.

breaks class roles
deemphasizes teamwork if the heavy uses it to heal himself (admitably not the biggest problem with the weapon, but encouraging more lone wolf play isn't a good thing at all)
makes map control less important, since your team now carries a health pack
makes the medic that much less important
makes other classes weaker, especially pyro
its just silly, its like giving soldier the ability to light people on fire or spy the ability to headshot, the classes were balanced with specific limitations in mind :\

I don't play TF2 at all these days. I tried it few days ago. It ended 5 minutes in with me yelling in the most high-pitched voice I ever made "FUCK THIS" after being fed with crit lead by same minisentry-popping Engie, right after I just dealt with his minisentry and cornered him.
More I try to return to TF2, more disgust I gain for that game.
Fucking phisher nearly got me at invite to comp with Mumble

When you call a vote to change the map or kick a player or something and [B]not a single person votes on it[/B].
Do people seriously think "Yeah, that big brown box blocking my view on the side of the screen looks nice. I think I'll keep it there instead of voting."
All these complaints about random crits (and they are totally justified) made me think that I really should finish my Improved random crits plugin, I had good ideas for it, but laziness combined with nothing working when I test it out made me kinda abandon it [sp](programmer's life is tough :<)[/sp]
