I think Upward and Dustbowl's last points should be more difficult to defend For Dustbowl, move the spawn back a bit or maybe put the control point on the bridge - for Upward, make the last room a bit more airy with larger entrances

It's in the same bag as 2fort where the gameplay is forever mediocre and can't be modified without dissing the map's history.

Well five of my fucking Highlander team members simultaneously chatted me while I was offline and explained that they were dropping my team in favor of one in a higher division, saying "I'm not organized enough". Never mind the fact that I was organizing at least a game a day and interrupting my schoolwork to play a fucking video game. Wow.
the best scout counter is actually a 5-heads splendid screen literally have nothing to do but press mouse2, especially in a tight corridor that shield is incredibly underrated and underused.
Try playing against scouts who haven't unbound there A, D or jump keys
the best scout counter is actually a 5-heads splendid screen literally have nothing to do but press mouse2, especially in a tight corridor that shield is incredibly underrated and underused.
I hate it so much, it's on my list of weapons-to-be-scrapped-on-sight-for-other's-sake. It's the original pre-nerf tide turner in terms of undeserved instakill bullshit out of nowhere.
Try playing against scouts who haven't unbound there A, D or jump keys
yeah. they're in the demo's face trying to put 105s like they should. not much they can do.
the best scout counter is actually a 5-heads splendid screen literally have nothing to do but press mouse2, especially in a tight corridor that shield is incredibly underrated and underused.
It went from most used shield to least used thanks to the Chargin' Targe's buff and the Tide Turner's introduction.
Why did they turn the Loch n Load from a sidegrade with a bullshit mechanic to a straght fucking upgrade minus the bullshit mechanic. It's reaching Dead Ringer levels of % of players that use it. Plus the update ruined the fact that it was one of the few weapons where the model matched the stats perfectly. It's quickly becoming really high on my ever growing list of weapons I want removed from the game completely.
Why doesn't the Beggar's fire something like the Air Strike's rockets? It should at least have a damage nerf, it really is especially silly versus engine buildings and heavies in particular.
If they believe DPS was a problem then they would have slowed its fire rate, reduced the amount of rockets held etc. already.
couldn't care less about valve's "beliefs". the newest bfb is pretty much : run at 520 units sec -2 clip if they "believed" that was balanced then they don't know their own game at all the bazooka suffers from a coding flaw where firing speed intersects with reload speed, and they're too dumb to realize it.
The BFB is probably the most obscenely overpowered weapon in the game to be honest, thank God people hardly use it
The BFB is probably the most obscenely overpowered weapon in the game to be honest, thank God people hardly use it
seeing it alot especially on CTF I used it alot when it was on its version. tighter spread was godly and the huge damage penalty made sure nobody would mindlessly use it for as an "easy-mode" resort. of course they ruined it and it's messed up. Same thing with the shortcircuit, the quickfix, the cleaner's carbine, darwin's shield, cozy camper, a dozen others that I don't particularly use.
Why aren't there any balanced sidegrades anymore? It feels like Valve's philosophy is either "horribly bad" or "horribly overpowered" right now, and a weapon is usually either of those until it gets switched into the other category a month or so after its release.
The Loose Cannon (although 2 and a half years old, it's still fairly 'recent' for TF2 standards) would fit into that category, I'd say. Though with the latest Smissmas buffs it might have gone a tiny bit overboard (I doubt full-damage rollers are justified, for example). The Iron Bomber and the Quickie Launcher also aren't terrible, unsalvagable ideas, just need moderate changes/buffs imo. Might not be too creative, and the QBL could become an issue if buffed too far, though, but hey, they're hardly total rubbish or nonsense. Problem is, why is the TF2 team so reluctant about making changes to the many subpar/underused 2014 additions? All of the 'balancing' efforts in recent months seem to go to Mannpower, a mode that a huge portion (I dare say majority) of the playerbase either dislikes to the point of not playing at all, or doesn't even take seriously as far as balance and fairness goes... Fine-tuning the balance of a mode that's an imbalanced mess at its core is impossible, I'd say, and a waste of effort in that department. I can sorta understand them being afraid of the backlash/discouraged by the Short Circuit and BfB controversies of late 2013 and the poorly received 3 balance changes from Love and War, but last Smissmas' generally well received Demo changes (bar the LnL) should motivate them to try again. A lot of the Summer 2013 update's changes were also well-received, it wasn't just all bad, negative reactions. Hell, why not make a blogpost that you'll be trying a series of weapon tweaks every couple of months, so that the playerbase understands many of the changes are temporary/prone to change and any possible mistakes won't be kept in the game for a year or more.
Are people seriously complaining about the Beggars Bazooka? I don't even see too many soldiers using it and is a pretty stupid weapon anyway just like the loch-n-load but not as unfair. All you have to do is get the Soldier using it off-guard and he won't have time to load he rockets to Shoot. Soldier's using that thing load their rockets at turtle speed.

I went into a weird jump server with a classic beginner jump map. I got called several times a noob because I wasn't smart enough to go as a demoman which is "too ez" because "soldier sucks" and "you suck". They didn't make it to the end after 10 minutes, however I did. As soon as I captured the cp at the end of the map "Lol fucking faggot noclip hacker, get gud *lenny face* " :v:

Beggar's Bazooka soldiers generally won't let you catch them off guard, and if you do it's not like they can't shoot single rockets at you (at a slower, but still meaningful pace). It's like saying "Having trouble with LnL Demos? Make them miss their pipes!" or "BFB Scouts a pain in your ass? Just shut them down before they get full boost", sometimes it isn't that easy. I speak on this matter as someone who finds those weapons annoying most times, not uncounterable or insanely overpowered, but it certainly is a chore to kill someone who uses them properly.

A good Beggar's Soldier in their element is an unstoppable torrent of mid-to-close range destruction. Same goes for the Rocket Launcher, the Shotgun, etc. Counters are a way of pulling someone out of their element and slapping them silly. Best thing for Beggar's Soldiers is to out-range them, or either surprise and kill them before they can start shooting, or hide for a moment while they deplete their ammo. Also, I don't get the hate for the Baby Face's Blaster. I do think they should make all jumping deplete its boost, not just double jumps, but it takes a while of being the most fragile class in the game AND really slow before they can get it going, plus, once they are going, they're now superfast but unable to jump and dodge freely. Maybe that's just because I play a lot of Engie, Pyro, and Medic though.

Same with super speedy scouts and stuff. It's annoying is all it is at its core. I'm sure for other people demoknights are annoying and all that. I came to this thread to just throw in my 2 cents on the matter is all. :v:
THE CABER
Are people seriously complaining about the Beggars Bazooka? Soldier's using that thing load their rockets at turtle speed.
the bazooka isn't used that much because the Black Box exists and that most older players prefer instant rocket / straight rocket feedback. the other reason is that most players are unaware of the beggar's mouse1 potency and assume they have to unload multiple rockets to use the gun. bazooka + conch is a pretty standard pubstomp assault combo.
I rarely see "good" Beggars soldiers anymore. They've mostly been replaced with """"good"""" Black Box Soldiers. [editline]6th April 2015[/editline] I hope you guys see I really fucking hate the Black Box and most weapons that consider taking less than 50% off the clip size as an actual nerf. [editline]6th April 2015[/editline] see: Loch, Black Box, old Liberty Launcher, Baby Face, Reserve Shooter, etc.
Funny enough I don't hate the Black Box. It never gave me TOO much trouble when fighting other soldiers.
Losing a rocket is actually a pretty big deal for soldiers so that's not really a valid complaint.
If that's the case then tell me how big of a deal it was for the completely balanced Liberty Launcher pre-summer 2013.
I hate that Steam doesn't log my class playtimes correctly because it doesn't properly log when I fight against bots, which is pretty much all the time because my Internet is so bad. I'm also annoyed that I don't get drops when playing against bots. (And since bots are all I get to fight, I hate that their AI sucks so much because I'd like a little bit more of a challenge when completely destroying the enemy team. I also kinda wish they were assigned random cosmetics and weapons to better simulate playing with real people. :v:)
Perhaps I misued the term "straight upgrade" but come now, there wouldnt be much reason to use bottle over eyelander. pretty much all stock melees become obsolete without rcrits
I don't know why people feel the need that stock melee weapons all have to be viable, they're always the same boring weapon that does 65 damage if you hit someone with it and nothing else across almost every class. If anything we should be giving each class's stock weapon unique stats.
