I rarely see "good" Beggars soldiers anymore. They've mostly been replaced with """"good"""" Black Box Soldiers.
[editline]6th April 2015[/editline]
I hope you guys see I really fucking hate the Black Box and most weapons that consider taking less than 50% off the clip size as an actual nerf.
[editline]6th April 2015[/editline]
see: Loch, Black Box, old Liberty Launcher, Baby Face, Reserve Shooter, etc.
Old Liberty Launcher was the bane of my existance, and was a factor among other things that made me stop playing the game for a year
I was pleasantly surprised to find it nerfed when I came back, and immediately disappointed afterwards because everyone started using the black box instead
airstrike is pretty worthless though
gimmick that's best used with another gimmick item
plus massive downsides
not to mention on expert bots just switch to demos, DEMOS EVERYWHERE
but I only play expert bots Highlander
not getting instakilled by snipers is just pure gamble
and spies
pixel perfect butterknife, the moment the hit registers they whip out their gun and start backpedalling
40 + 60 + 50 +40
add in damage spread and you're a dead soldier before the second rocket even lands
not to mention that heavy players can be doubled jumped to death
heavy bots basically have a timer until they lock on to you and you die
I hate that Steam doesn't log my class playtimes correctly because it doesn't properly log when I fight against bots, which is pretty much all the time because my Internet is so bad. I'm also annoyed that I don't get drops when playing against bots.
Just don't use "offline training". Create a local server ("+" button in vanilla main menu) and add bots with tf_bot_add command. This will fix issues both with logging stats and with getting drops.

That's exactly what I do. Still no drops and no class playtime logging.

This is the same story for CS:GO. I generally only play with bots as I find a lot of servers (and players) obnoxious twats.
I know GO was developed by another company, but taken back by VALVe when things 'got out of hand' (somehow. I read it somewhere) but I wouldn't be surprised if this is VALVe's way of getting people "playing with each other" as if every player is helpful and nice to each other (if only).

I imagine this probably is the case because I do get drops whenever I play MVM (the only mode I can play online).
Fuck the Spycicle, and fuck the Dead Ringer
I should not as a Pyro, Spy's goddamn hard counter, have to chase around a dickhead Spy for twenty minutes while he dances around constantly refilling his watch with ammo pickups and unable to track because the Spycicle
Losing a rocket is actually a pretty big deal for soldiers so that's not really a valid complaint.
Three rockets will kill anything except a heavy, unless you're shit, which is hard to be with arguably the easiest class in the game
Now I'm curious if there's a HUD mod that makes it easier to see how much progress is left on a capture.

His spycicle protects him for only 2 seconds. If he makes the mistake of having his knife out without his deadringer, he's fucked. He will eventually fuck up. And if his spycicle has melted, and his deadringer hasn't been activated yet, just hold m1 on him until he dies. Usually works. Or if you know he's using the spycicle, give him a nice shotgun shot to the face. Also airblast him.
They're not that hard to beat.

Some people just can't aim (like me). I fire a rocket at someone's feet, oops didn't predict quite right, only damages 30. Fire another, cool, got the full hundred or so. Fire another, oops, shot right past them, 0 damage. If I miss again, I die. I'm probably already dead.

Just keep airblasting them as soon as they feign. As long as your airblasts make the distinct 'thud' sound he's still there. His fire immunity lasts about the same amount of time it takes to fire two airblasts..

Im not sure if this is still the case, but doesnt the aura around the spycicle show through cloak?
I recall being able to track spies with that.

If this is the case, that would explain how people keep damn well seeing me.
The only thing the air strike is good for is for pissing people off in MGE.

Eureka effect is way better, alt fire to teleport to "your spawn", oh xwait, there's no spawn in this map, let's respawn you to (0,0,0) in the black nothing. And meanwhile, your opponent keeps looking for you but never finds you (until he ragequits and give you some of these "points", uh)

Being a counter does not instantly mean you would have every single advantage.
I don't understand why so many people go "ermagherd op dr.spycicle". Both have a cooldown function and cannot be used until both have full charge / end of cooldown. That leaves a Spy with a revolver and most spies wil break down and forget this weapon exists if placed in the situation. By "chasing a spy for twenty minutes", you're contributing little as well as letting him excel at a job he shouldn't really be doing. By equipping two weapons, he's caused you to leave the fight and your team has just lost a class that can deal large amounts of damage at short range, which is effective when pushing.
Use airblast. Use your secondary. Flank. Trick him. Pretend to give up before returning. If you are unable to kill him after trying all these, it isn't the weapons. It's you. Also the knife has a fifteen second cooldown, which he can't speed up. Seize these opportunities. Use the Powerjack to reach ammo kits first. Lead / push him into a room he won't survive in. He has 125 health for god's sake.
Three rockets will kill anything except a heavy, unless you're shit, which is hard to be with arguably the easiest class in the game
how do u mention heavy in a post and then forget about him in the next sentence?
That leaves a Spy with a revolver and most spies wil break down and forget this weapon exists if placed in the situation.
lol
the majority of spies that are competent enough to use Dr. spycicle are also using the ambassador and will just headshot you as they run away because they're wannabe snipers.
On a related note, being hit by a revolver bullet whilst in midair kills ALL velocity, making it impossible to try and catch up to them while avoiding the bullets.

Most MGE servers don't have Engi as a class, do they? It's Scout/Soldier/Demo/Sniper only

It's either try to pursue him, or throw up your shoulders and say "welp, I guess that it's it. have another free try at backstabbing my team"
What happens when it's an open area, and it's anyone's guess as to where he went? He pops his DR, and you can never track him long enough for his shit to wear off because he can go anywhere. And in an open area, you don't have anything to actually airblast him against.
How much health he has doesn't matter if I can't actually damage him through the Spycicle and the DR, or catch him in a situation where he doesn't have at least one of them. He gets to play as agressively as he wants, and as soon as anyone tries to engage him he can immediately remove any risk from the equation.
I don't get why people think all jump maps are demo maps, since it's not true, some maps are better to do as Soldier
rip jump_tommygruvich :(

I was on the assumption that the Spy-cicle main strenght was fooling pyros around, which would be negated by the knife giving away some kind of aura
When as a Pyro have to deal with ALL the spychecking which is made harder due to my teammates wont call out that there are spies so I get blamed for not having the WHOLE base CONSTANTLY ON FIRE.
I'm currently stuck on a laptop that is pretty shit compared to my computer
I had to remove the TIP skins and other things that help make TF2 more beautiful :suicide:
You know what fucking pisses me off? the air strike. It's fucking stupid. Whenever someone uses it, I can never see the rockets coming at me because they're too small and have like, no real particle that shows them as "HEY I'M A FUCKING ROCKET" so you basically get fucked. /rant
2 Degreaser Pyros were crying on the server just because i was using a crutch.
When did the Airblasting Pyro encountering Liberty Launcher became a crutch? I mean, the thing deals less damage. Making it harder for me to kill them. They could just stop pressing M2 and actually shoot me instead. But as they are "1337 Pr0 Airblasthurrrzz :3" they must try to airblast my rockets that goes %40 PERCENT FASTER than a normal rocket then cry about how i am using a crutch.
My rant ends here.

If they can't airblast the LL rockets, god help them trying to airblast the Direct hit rockets
Truth be told, those airblasting "experts" are all about starting to puff continuously as soon as they see an enemy, depleting all their ammo, get killed in short order and then complain afterwards

I enjoy just jumping a lot, a lot of them airblast every time you jump as the jump+shoot combo is so hilariously common.
