It let you have 80 character name But that's about it. Not really economy breaking.
It was actually extremely controversial because someone reported it through email a few months before this guy posted about the bug on reddit and the email guy got no reply or reward. Hey, at least my friend got an 80 character unusual name out of it. Was gonna make an 80 character Medi-Gun name but it was patched an hour before I got my nametag.
Reminds me about that person from here that selfishly reported the equip_region exploit in hopes of getting an unusual. Not only did they not get an unusual, they also got rid of an exploit allowing for some really cool loadouts.
It's VERY likely it was reported long before that person claimed to have done it anyways. Just because someone says they reported it doesnt mean 5 lurkers hadn't already reported it
playing heavy with xbox360 controller for some reason two misguided medics healing me both set on fire take out sandvich hit wrong trigger nom it as they both die to afterburn
Managed to get myself behind enemy lines. So I decide to attack a gunslinger engiee. No health around the area me and him are fighting. Hit him three times with an ubersaw and it did nothing, he hits me twice and I'm dead.
Decide to play some Mannpower because I decided to give it a second chance, I join BLU, play as my handy dandy medic Get spawn trapped with an Engie with Regeneration, Soldier with Haste, Heavy with a Strength and immediately quit the game
The autistic fangirls who shove their heavyxmedic ships down your throat.
It seems getting given your choice of unusual item is the new community weapon. Haven't seen a community weapon being handed out in months but I've seen 3 'Good sport' unusuals instead.
The autistic fangirls who shove their heavyxmedic ships down your throat.
is this a thing now?
A trick stabber tried to stab me in a stair well. He died from fall damage. :v:
Did he? Or did you think he died from fall damage?
autistic
It's 2015, can you not?
It seems getting given your choice of unusual item is the new community weapon. Haven't seen a community weapon being handed out in months but I've seen 3 'Good sport' unusuals instead.
That's because bug reports aren't directly influencing the community, like doing things such as establishing competitive tf2 or making tf2-media like comics the tfteam rather enjoyed (nerfnow), although these applied years ago when they were new, and obviously mean little now since most things people do are just iterations of things people have previously done. For example, i couldn't see them giving youtubers community weapons just for playing the game like thousands of other youtubers do, but if someone were to have an extensive channel on the subject of helping new players and posting media, they might be more eligible because most of their competition consists of teenagers recording themselves talking over the game.

Oh hey, it's free to play!".
I could see some big name like STAR_ getting a community weapon, as even they can help the game in some way; somebody that opens up a STAR_ TF2 video and goes "Wow, I want to play that game! Oh hey, it's free to play!".
Yeah but their reason of upload stems less from community awareness of the game and more for their existing opinions to be shared of the game. Take something like control point or kritzkast, they would discuss the game and potential strategies, but look at someone like star or jerma, tf2 is a fraction of their channel (even if they're most known for it), and most of their tf2 content is just them enjoying the game, not speaking to improve it.
most of their tf2 content is just them enjoying the game, not speaking to improve it.
Technically Star_'s made videos on balance issues in the past which likely contributed to them getting fixed, but other than that I'd have to agree.
What kind of thing is that? (don't mind the stats, I've got so many points by standing on a payload on an empty Badwater server) [t]http://cloud-4.steampowered.com/ugc/43109869773168187/112967D5124A90F1A7A1C1DBD60D050B57F6D60B/[/t]
Poland cannot into server [sp]am crie[/sp] Content: Dominated some guy, started calling me a nigger, server starts laughing at him, dommed guy tries to justify using nigger. Fuck 'outta here
This hacking piece of shit right here: http://steamcommunity.com/id/victor53809/ Gets two 26 kill streaks in a row and head shots half our team within about 3 seconds, with a score 5 times higher than anyone else on the server. But that's not what pisses me off. His team then refuses to kick him. For ten minutes they won't even call a vote and when they finally do it fails. I just don't get it. What exactly is fun about playing on a team where a hacker is getting all the kills and you don't have to do anything? Valve needs a better way to kick/report hackers. With F2P accounts it's so easy for people to make a new account just for fucking around with hacks and ruining a bunch of players' games.
most of their tf2 content is just them enjoying the game, not speaking to improve it.
While most of the time is enjoying, there have been a few times where Star talked about strategies or ways to improve it. Recently Star's been acting slightly [sp]miffed[/sp] about some additions, and while I can't recall any videos when that's happened (other than the Panic Attack one), I know there's been some rants on his videos about his view on current TF2. Also, how do people feel about him here anyways? For some reason I get the feeling that he's not liked here. It might've been posts mentioning him that got bad ratings or something idunno I don't worship him or anything but out of all the game commentators I've seen he's really the most honest and humble of all of them.
Star has a lot of shitty fans, but he's a pretty alright dude by himself. Recently he's been getting more bored of TF2, which I guess is understandable after spending seven years with the game. There's not much that can completely refresh your interest in it. I don't really find him that agreeable, but his personality and demeanor is hard to hate.
[t]http://i.imgur.com/o4oZj5B.jpg?1[/t]
I would actually prefer it if more servers would kick people for too high ping. Nothing is more annoying than getting killed by a sniper shooting where you were 5 minutes ago.

Muselk seems to be the rising star (heh) of the TF2 gameplay youtubers at the moment, and MrPaladin the new(ish) shining star of Spy gameplay (not limited to it though). And nobody can forget NISLT/siN, who still does 2 videos (almost) every day, begging for more demos to pour upon his face.
Just be happy he even got to the 3rd checkpoint, placing down a nest in the process, without getting killed.
We were defending.
Seriously is there any way of fixing this stuff? It's getting really ridiculous.
Seriously is there any way of fixing this stuff? It's getting really ridiculous.
Some of it can be fixed with Console through commands like "record, stop" or however it went. Otherwise no. Gonna have to wait for Valve.
