Finally got the tour finished and it was the worst loot I've gotten yet from MvM. One killstreak Minigun kit, one Spec KS Ubersaw fabricator. Oh and only 5 crappy robo parts from the mission completion and a shortstop.
This right here is why I stopped playing MvM after 70 and so tours.
These aren't major overhauls, these are tweaks and adjustments within the same core design concept for their respective weapons.
Speaking of major overhauls, What's up with the re-worked Soda Popper? I feel like with it's fast reload and firing speed, it's just inherently better than most of the other scatterguns; the "run around a lot to turn into Kirby" aspect is just icing on the cake at this point. For that matter, The Baby-face's blaster REALLY needs to be looked at again, because it's good points far outweigh the bad. The amount of speed you lose for double-jumping can literally be gotten back on your next shot, meaning it's barely even a hindrance any more; as opposed to the old method of "double-jumps clear ALL boost". Hell, I think it'd be pretty cool if they gave it the old sandman attribute of not being able to double jump at all, and made it so that any jump cleared some boost, making it a weapon you really need to plan out your usage with, but I digress. Anyway, tl;dr: I think some of the scout primaries need some work.
This right here is why I stopped playing MvM after 70 and so tours.
I'm drawn to the more competitive side of MvM but I have no interest in paying to play a gamemode, so I'll stick with the regular boot camp.

Soldiers, and the fact that their rockets do so little damage to themselves.
Soldiers, and the fact that their rockets do so little damage to themselves.
actually it hurts Soldiers quite a lot if the he's not using Gunboats or a item that buffs health like the battalion's. Try Rocket jumping without any of these two and you will have little to no health in no time. And also people that play Soldier a lot always keep good track of their health so they don't end up making shots that will make themselves explode. It got repetitive fast and only the people that REALLY like MvM continue to play it after 90 tours or so. I guess I don't actually like as much as I thought I did.
today we learn maths with source [thumb]http://www.sourceop.com/hell-met/TF2/mvm/hvy.jpg[/thumb]
I sometimes feel like I'm the only TF2 player that never used and is never going to use Degreaser no matter what. Also:
today we learn maths with source [thumb]http://www.sourceop.com/hell-met/TF2/mvm/hvy.jpg[/thumb]
Wait, what?
I sometimes feel like I'm the only TF2 player that never used and is never going to use Degreaser no matter what.
Stock for lyfe.
Degreaser + Scorch/Shotty + Homewrecker for best Engineer friend.
I sometimes feel like I'm the only TF2 player that never used and is never going to use Degreaser no matter what. Also: Wait, what?
The degreaser itself honestly poses no threat on its own for me. Even stock flamethrower will airblast at the same speed and cost. I only get annoyed by reserve shooter pyros and maybe ones who mash you into a corner with airblast and melee you to death before you have time to blink.
ones who mash you into a corner with airblast and melee you to death before you have time to blink.
honestly I've never had trouble doing that with the stock flamethrower

It's just a shittily balanced weapon on a shittily balanced class
Degreaser + Scorch/Shotty + Homewrecker for best Engineer friend.
why would you use degreaser for defense. also the only nerf the degreaser needs is not being able to cause afterburn.
The most powerful thing about the degreaser is that it allows you to use your flamethrower as a secondary weapon because you can always switch to it so fast to protect yourself.
look at all these people not using the phlog
You plebs and your "primary" weapons. If you're not running around only using the Sharpened Volcano Fragment, you're doing it wrong.
why would you use degreaser for defense. also the only nerf the degreaser needs is not being able to cause afterburn.
Dying to degreaser afterburn isn't really that common of an occurence. It's usually the flare gun afterburn that gets you.
You plebs and your "primary" weapons. If you're not running around only using the Sharpened Volcano Fragment, you're doing it wrong.
I'm experienced in using only the Winger to deal damage and it's decently effective once you can land the bullets (a full 5-shot clip is enough to kill a scout), and it annoys me so much when people put the Winger down.
why would you use degreaser for defense. also the only nerf the degreaser needs is not being able to cause afterburn.
The fast weapon swith combined with the homewrecker allows for a quick "Kill/repel Spy then sap" move. The scorch allows to deal normal afterburn damage plus you can spam it too.
Dying to degreaser afterburn isn't really that common of an occurence. It's usually the flare gun afterburn that gets you.
however, degreaser's whole shtick was that you could burn someone then crit with the flare gun or axtinguisher. no afterburn denies this I think degreaser just needs an airblast nerf and it will be fine
make airblast stop enemies instead of pushing them back it'd still he annoying but way less so. in an fps you generally want control over your character's movement, and it's not as easy to tell when stuns are going on like in every MOBA ever. airblast is shit because it pretty much lets another player move you around forever and if you're a projectile class ur fucked m8. if it just killed your momentum instead of giving its momentum to you I'd be fine with that since I'd actually be able to still retain some control, ie actually be able to fight the damn firebug
If the Tide Turner ever gets a new buff/nerf, it needs to make it so that taking damage doesn't drain the entire charge meter while charging. It's just annoying to just get potshotted by a Scorch Shot pyro when you're charging and losing your entire charge because a pyro looked towards you and clicked. Some guy on another thread mentioned that it should get increased knockback while charging, and this could be much better. Depending on where you are hit while charging, and for how much, you would take a certain amount of knockback damage. For example, taking slight fall damage will result in you doing a little bounce upon impacting the ground, or getting sent flying away by a stray Loose Cannon bomb. That would be fun.

It used to add a velocity vector to your current one depending on the direction you the pyro pushed you, but this was broken because if you airblasted downwards you could stop someone moving completely, a technique known as groundstalling. Now airblast pushes you directly up (even if you're above a player) and stuns you for a very short period of time as it does so (really, you can be crit by the cleaver during this) almost completely ignoring your movement up until then. Valve could have easily fixed the airblast problem by projecting negative z velocities from the airblast into the xy plane so that instead of being pushed downwards, players would slide backwards. You could even add a check so that that only happened on the ground (like a reverse reserve shooter) so you could still push players back in the air. I don't understand why they switched to the new system when it's so much less intuitive in terms of source physics. I mean, airblasting a player running from you slows them down rather than pushing them away from you in many cases. Edit: The only buff I'd like to see to the tide turner would be to not let fall damage stop your charge, that would make cool jumps with the weapon still possible whilst making it counterable.
I am really annoyed by the auto reload option on anything that isn't a rocket or grenade launcher, most notably the ambassador.
I am really annoyed by the auto reload option on anything that isn't a rocket or grenade launcher, most notably the ambassador.
I'm fine with auto reload, i'm annoyed with stupid shitty reload animations
I'm fine with auto reload, i'm annoyed with stupid shitty reload animations
This, I used to have a custom animation for all of spies revolvers, but they break with sv _pure now and quickplay killed off my favorite community servers.
[thumb]http://www.sourceop.com/hell-met/TF2/huo.jpg[/thumb] how do I aim down with this thing? i'm giving every single unlock a chance but sometimes it's hard to.
