Stuff that Annoys you in TF2: bind m1 say "( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)" edition

If you ever come across someone called "Slice of Bryce" while playing MvM just fucking leave. I spent 20 minutes trying to explain to this tool why his upgrades were wrong but apparently if I don't have a guide on SPUF I should just leave. He caused 5 >20 tour players to leave by bullshitting at them, too. People like this really ruin an evening.
We're well into 2015 and people still utilize the words "tryhard" and "rage-<class>", why?
Tryhard is such a ruined word, every person you ask will probably have a slightly different answer. Some people might reserve it for those people who combine above average skill with a really shitty attitude, while others might think anyone who doesn't use the worst possible loadout is a tryhard.
And the entire concept of "rage-<class>" is absurd. If a player is giving your team trouble as whatever class he's playing, it's kind of the smart move to shut them down. I'm not saying everyone who does this falls into this category, but it seems quite common among those people who play scout the most and apparently think they should ALWAYS get to play scout and do well at it, even on a map where scout is going to have a bad time due to chokepoint spam.
remember when people did the whole rage heavy? good times.
I'll switch to whatever class that the player(s) better than me are weak to. I get bitched at for it but whatever. If the top player on an enemy team is a Scout, you bet your ass I'll go gunslinger engie to shut him or her down. If they're a Pyro then I'll switch to Heavy. And so on. It's just countering the player(s) who are a threat to me. Big deal. If I'm being a top notch Heavy and they go Demoman, I'm not going to bitch at them for it because that's how you deal with the problem.

This keeps happening, even in Offline Practise -_-

I think this guide fixed it when I had the same problem.

Does anybody have a sourcemod script that will auto-ban anyone who says certain phrases in text chat? I think it would be great for chat binds.

Wolfyhound uses one on his server. He's mentioned it before but I can't remember the name.

the great thing about tf2 is that, even if you switch to said counter-class, they can still break you in half with ease. you wont get the upper hand in a battle purely because you're playing agaisnt someone with something.
Dominations.
They exist for no purpose other then to be a constant reminder that you suck. Doms also send you into tunnel-vision rage a good amount of the time.

They aren't even really an indication of skill, you can get a domination by doing 3 damage and getting an assist.

Everything wrong in TF2 in one picture?

Things not portrayed in this screenshot:
-Very stacked teams
-This spy was being pocketed by a Medic, who also spammed Lenny Face binds (edit: you can actually see the medic)
-Your usual 3 Spies + 3 Snipers on your team
I can't tell if the unusual wearing, lime painted, meme spamming people are a vocal minority or a majority, but, I don't really care. I care a lot.

Didn't Garry have something on Facepunch once that would ban people if they said 'Sniggering'?
Maybe a better idea would be a script that simply dosen't allow them to say it, like the script that says "no swearing on this server" when you try ot swear.

I would make it so when someone tries to say rekt or lenny faces it turns it into "hi server i am a pathetic memeboy who wants attention"
"Censor"
{
"le lenny face"
{
"chatpattern" "ʖ"
"warn" "Nice meme!"
"replace" "i am le mememaster lolololol"
}
"rekt"
{
"chatpattern" "rekt 'CASELESS'"
"chatpattern" "r3kt 'CASELESS'"
"warn" "Great meme!"
"replace" "memes are le awesome ecksDEEE"
}
"nub"
{
"chatpattern" "n[o0][o0]b 'caseless'"
"warn" "mad bc bad"
"replace" "I can't play so I'll call the enemy a bad player"
}
"bodyshot"
{
"chatpattern" "bodyshot 'caseless'"
"chatpattern" "body shot 'caseless'"
"warn" "mad bc bad"
"replace" "skilled airshot headshot"
}
"smile"
{
"chatpattern" "\:\^\) 'caseless'"
"warn" "Sick meme bro!"
"replace" "le edgy smiley face"
}
"lel"
{
"chatpattern" "lel 'caseless'"
"warn" "Amazing meme!"
"replace" "le lol"
}
"excksdee"
{
"chatpattern" "x[dD]{1,} 'caseless'"
"warn" "No."
"replace" "no"
}
}
Makes them look like even more a complete twat.

the only bad thing i see there is that replays are unfortunately disabled on that server.
people who whine about bodyshots and w+m1 are the worst. If you died to w+m1 you're either really bad or it wasn't actually w+m1.
I can't stand when people call me a W+M1 because I have the backburner as my main weapon and therefore I don't have much choice but to ambush people and move around erratically to dodge enemy fire and wait for another opportunity
Mind you, I enjoy every second of it
It kinda annoys me when I get killed by derpy pyros that just glue their fingers to the M1 and W keys. I always die by afterburn damage because they keep suicide rushing towards me.
I don't complain of course but It's annoying when I'm trying to kill some guy and suddenly 3 pyros just appear out of nowhere and start shaking their mouses like they got some kind of mental problem.
My philosophy on W+M1 is that it only works on bad or consistently unlucky players
Next time you get killed by one, ask yourself why. Most of the time I realize I'm overextending and that I probably shouldn't have been so close,
w+m1 is when a pyro just runs towards you with their flamethrower without any strategy. flanking or ambushing your opponent to kill them with your flamethrower is not w+m1
So geting killed by a pyro who comes bursting around the next corner with their flamethrower armed and ready and starts circling you until they or you die is not W+M1?
Better start hanging out at corners then
There is a distinct difference between W+M1 and A/S/D+M1.
The latter is actually effective, takes time to get a hang of, and wins pyro vs pyro every time.

If he starts circling you it's not W+M1 anymore :v:
It's interesting to me that the Backburner still carries that stigma for a bunch of players, even though it's had airblast and no flat damage increase compared to the stock FT for a very long time now. I know that most ''W+M1'' reactions are just people being salty in general at getting killed by a Pyro, but still...
You'd think most people would primarily dislike forced crit combos via the Degreaser or having their mobility negated by airblasts (especially excessive airblast spam when they could've just burned you to death), yet even when a Backburner Pyro ambushes or flanks from the sides or rear using fire, the supposed gist of the class, it's apparently a comprehensible playstyle.
It's likely some leftover stigma from the times when the weapon had no airblast and had a small dmg bonus, mixed with the fact that half of Pyro haters seem to have an issue with using anything else but the Shotgun to kill people.

Why is this any more of a traumatic experience than, say, walking around a corner into a revved Heavy at close range (=way superior damage and way more HP), walking into a level 3 Sentry that guns you down in less than a second, walking into a Sniper's lane and getting oneshot from a mile away from a guy you couldn't see, a Scout running in and two-shotting you with two Scatter meatshots etc?
I mean, half or more of the classes easily outdamage the flames at close range AND have a much higher effective range to boost, 2 of them have more HP, certain dangers like snipers and Sentries also annihilate you way faster and with less chance of fighting back...
When you're rounding corners, you can expect to run into enemies, and a Pyro just flaming you down is neither the most effective killer nor the most frustrating to die to since you can easily fight back and often outdamage them or at least hurt them back before you die (unlike Snipers and Sentries).
Your post's really fascinating cause I fail to see what makes the situation you described so inherently more frustrating and 'unfun' to find yourself in compared to facing other classes.

Try to explain that to the modern Team Fortress 2 crowd
Dury can witness that I only play Team Fortress 2 when he's around, and even the scarce times I do I find it more and more of a chore than an entertaining experience
"oops, sorry about the skilled airshot headshot"
Why would you need to apologize for killing somebody?
If there is a healthy rivalry going on between me and the other sniper, it's nice to apologize for getting a kill by missing.
false modesty doesnt make you any less dead than him.
It's true that not many people do it for whatever reasons, but it's not a bad habit.
