you shouldn't need to apologize for bodyshots nor should anybody complain about it
probably not the good thread for this but since we're on the subject when sniping, how many of you actually try to move your crosshair upon your target, or do you just point at a spot and wait for people to run into it? It's hard to collect info ingame. I do wonder what's the majority doing though

Twitch shots are difficult to pull off and are inconsistent to register, but are more reliable as a player's twitch aim strengthens. They also are much much easier to pull off at range, where aim is less-frequently jarred and targets are effectively moving more slowly through the Sniper's field of view. Hell, sometimes there's also tracking involved if they want to charge a shot to ensure a kill, although not as common a practice. But I've observed that most of the better snipers will wait for someone to move into their crosshair, while simultaneously moving the crosshair into a place where a player will likely be and then letting the trigger-pull be the seal on the deal. It's something that's tough to describe because it's become second-nature at this point.
Position crosshair roughly over their head, then snap in the direction they're moving and click. For sniping snipers I use the same thing except I scope wherever and then snap to their head. Not sure how it works but it does.
i'm just too impatient to aim for headshots. sometimes i'd try to predict their movement, but it usually ends in a streak of holes in the wall in the back.
The best advice I've been given for playing Sniper is to not worry too much about it. If you get all finicky over headshots and charging, you're going to start overcompensating and missing all the time, so just take the shot when you can.

The only thing I see all the time is hard work because of the fact they jump around like rabbits as if it's Quake, ADS then bang bang, rinse and repeat.

it's fun to quickscope with sydney. the time you need for a jarate effect is surprisingly really short. it's like one second.
You kids need to exercise, back in my day we used computer mice made of lead
back in your day you mean like 2003? you hardly sound like someone older than that.
Retarded god damn shit stains who come in, see a demo, and go sniper, and the even stupider fucks who vote no on kicking him because "he might be a good sniper" with his store rented machina, razorback, and tribalmans shiv. Fucking christ I want to stomp some fucking throats in right now.
You are basically saying that, like Left 4 Dead and Dota 2 before it, Team Fortress 2 is starting to show the fruits of what happens if you allow the community of a videogame to "regulate" itself?

And I don't mean the same group of brainless fucks either, my friend and I left when we saw how fucking retarded they were going to be. You can do an entire tour in 4 hours, HELL, 3 if ya skip bathroom breaks.
do you play on servers where there are no good snipers
That's what bullet resistance ubercharge is for.

The rest of the Infected team all had like 800+ hours each on L4D2.
Shanking the back of heavies and soldiers as a spy like 4 times without backstabbing them. It seriously looks like bullshit when you experience it, but it's even more outrageous when you took the time to record a demo, switch your character to 3rd person, and see the 3rd person backstab animation. The 4, f******, times. There's a serious problem with me.
