Stuff that Annoys you in TF2: bind m1 say "( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)" edition

I really don't see the appeal of cringe-worthy trash talk weapon renames.
Just encountered a spy with the name/desc combo of "cya kid" / "oh my fucking god you suck so bad kid" on his ambassador. Luckily no one fed the low-effort trolling in any way, which prompted him to butt into other people's conversations with "mge me kid", "want to see my frag video kid?" and "do you even play comp kid?". This guy really loved the word kid.
Which reminds me: the vocal minority of comp players that made the main stereotype about that entire community so bad are legitimately annoying. I can only imagine how cringe-worthy it is to the people who actually play comp TF2 and actually want new blood in the scene to see some guy do his absolute best to scare any potential players away from it permanently :suicide:

Chances are, he's most likely (ironically) a kid himself.

Thank you for realizing this. The "vocal minority" phenomenon is really evident in the competitive scene, where some players let it go to their heads and begin talking down to mostly everyone else (although they're usually at a lower level - I know nothing but nice people in higher divisions)
Despite that, there's also some people so vehemently against competitive and its players that it's stupid

Yeah, one of the conversations the kid guy interrupted was actually someone saying "guys TF2 will become CoD soon" because it's getting matchmaking. I never understood why those dedicated comp players/pubbers had such an issue with eachother anyway, it's not like anyone is forced to play the format(s) they don't like in the first place. I honestly always seemed like an even more pathetic version of the console wars to me :v:

Griefing to win.
I was with some engies on Turbine and we had a kickass sentry bunker going on in RED hallway. BLU just couldn't get past us no matter what.
Then some asshole medic and his steam mate spy on BLU came on in sapping everything, cept the medic was RED so we couldn't do anything about stoping him healing the spy.
Luckily the server crashed before anything worse could happen and I just got off steaming.
You wanna destroy my sentry? Fine. Do it fairly, I will never tolerate Griefing tactics in order to win a game.
Friendlies.
They bitch and complain when you kill them despite everyone else in the server ACTUALLY PLAYING THE DAMN GAME. And when they aren't on the enemy team but my own, they get all defensive when I ask them to actually do something.
Like shit dude, if you wanted to fuck around and not play the core game there are servers specifically for that.
never like friendlies...they take up spots
The fact that whenever me and the other Engineers defending the intel get bored and start goofing around, the other team finally comes in and wrecks all of our shit after 15 minutes of nothing happening

Kill them and taunt every single time, it usually gets them salty enough to actually play the game and stop wasting slots

In the ancient times, during the siege of a fortress, one of the main weapons used by attackers against the defenders was the starvation.
Now it is replaced with the boredom.
i love friendlies actually. its a nice challenge to see how fast you can make them drop their friendly status and start attacking you.
I hate the fact that the strange Southern Hospitality ranks up with wrench kills instead of sentry kills like a normal wrench.
I really hate badly configured servers, especially MvM ones.
There's this one disabling double jumps, or the other having an item whitelist with the Fan O'War and the Crusader's Crossbow banned (who does that, seriously?)... and I'm not counting these with unlisted regenerating credits or ammo.
But my biggest gripe concerns the time limit that makes the server change maps upon the failure of a wave. Why would you do that? Does anyone like losing arbitrarily all the progress made or what?
Damn I'm angry.
I hate the mvm servers with extra player slots. Might as well give you infinite credits because 10 players is ez mode.

I played on 10 players MvM server with advanced Bigrock. We lost.

Not all of them do. The one you're describing is a glitched one of sorts.
Valve released a fix for it, but it doesn't seem to have converted the old ones with just the "wrench kills" alone. You can pick one up with the sentry and wrench kills from the Steam Market for a small price anyhow. Just make sure it's one that includes sentry kills before you buy it if you go that route.
I've been on 10 player MvM servers before that had custom missions tailored to 10 people.

Mine counts sentry kills, it just doesn't contribute to the strange's rank.

Depends on the friendly. Some friendly spies and engineers are pretty funny, especially around newer players who don't know what's going on.

This is the schema entry for the Southern Hospitality.
Kill eater are kill counters, you can see that the initial counter setting was left blank. This is a fallback case for all weapons, they'll resort to counting kills if there is nothing explicitly noted for them to count. This is smart because it'd allow them to easily churn out low-effort content because they're all functionally the same, as such they'll use the same code. The SH not counting sentry kills initially was a combination of an oversight and a little laziness.
They retroactively added a secondary kill counter with a value of 3, which is for sentry kills. From my own knowledge, they didn't flip the two to be consistent with the rest of the wrenches because there simply were already a lot of Strange Southern Hospitality out there, the database entries had information in them. It'd be far easier to append more information than it would be to re-allocate that information and risk screwing things up.

Ever played Broken parts with 10 players and lost?
Damn that mission is hard with the wrong people
if 6 people can beat the map, why couldn't 10? i asume coordinator and knowledge make the difference, but sheer numbers should at least factor in how many robots can be killed.

I've seen players not kill a single robot because they where using the wrong loadout or where too busy respawning countless times. You could have as many of those guys as you like and they'd still kill 0 robots.

My Strange Jag counts Sentry kills too, and actually ranks it up.
BFB.
The gun has literally no actual downsides to it. It requires 99 damage in total to fill up the entire bar, and you lose about 25 with each double jump. You can easily refill it by just landing a few pellets. Clip size doesn't matter jack crap and you can still dish out enough damage to take down a heavy at full health in one clip.
I was on a server, the team that I was on was losing (the other team had some good teamwork), but then after 2 rounds, the teams got scrambled. The players from the skilled team that were brought onto my team started moaning about it. "No one on this team is intelligent, apart from one or two people" "Why did we get scrambled. Like come on, there's no need to call out on us like that.

which is why i own a spec. killstreak bfb.
Pyro's alt weapons bother me.
Almost every single one is about gimmick crits. Which I already think are stupid to begin with.
Why cant there be a pyro primary or secondary that isnt "Preform this insanely easy action for free criticals"
