Everybody keeps mentioning this geolock and yet my TF2 continues to show servers from around the world. Hell, I wish it actually worked so quickplay sever select would stop giving me all servers in Stockholm 70% of the time.
I have the same problem. TF2 consistently tells me that there are no servers in Luxembourg so try a Stockholm one. Oh hang on they don't exist either, here's Washington.
Why do those even exist? Was getting more than one kill in each life considered an achievement in the days of UT?
it's supposed to be triggered within a second or two of another. if the time is up, it rolls back to zero. of course you can't expect this much complexity from most plugins
It amuses me when Overtime comes on, only to prolong the game by a single second before ending the game. Like... why?
It amuses me when Overtime comes on, only to prolong the game by a single second. Like... why?
because the cart recently moved, or the point was mid-capture when the timer ended...?
Is there a reason all of these are empty? and with Quickplay, it always says "error" when trying to join. With the Valve servers that do have players, there's never a response or it does the error thing I mentioned.
There hasn't been a major update since last December. We're already pretty much halfway through 2015. That's a little sad
I dunno. Look at it from another perspective: From 2007 to 2015, we've had continued major updates on a semi-regular schedule, and TF2 is still one of the daily most played games on Steam.
Team Scrambles They don't help balance a team, the players make the team balanced You're doing absolutely nothing
I hate servers that enforce sv_pure 1/2 but then at the same time force me to listen to their crappy Quake Killstreak Sound effects.
It's even worse when the voice is a woman who gets hornier the more you kill people.
Team Scrambles They don't help balance a team, the players make the team balanced You're doing absolutely nothing
They do one thing, and that's resetting the map time :v: At least the valve server ones. At times it feels like that is the primary reason behind most scramble votes.
Regular valve scrambles do fuck-all, yes. SourceMod scrambles are actually somewhat clever and move the top scoring players / most points per second players to the other team as required, ignoring people like medics and engis. But, it's sourcemod, so you have to sacrifice a goat to Satan to find a populated server.
When you get moved to the other team during gameplay, not after death. It's rather disrupting when I'm about to wreck some serious shit and *CREAK* I get moved to the other team.
-wrong thread herp derp-
Autobalance and scrambling newer seems to encourage fair and balanced gameplay among different skill levels. Autobalance merely ensures that both teams are equal in number. Scrambling seems to be based on scores and just switches every other player without looking to see how teams work together. Not to mention that people often leave soon after. Payload and 5CP are heavily biased with respawn times. Even if the attacking team has 2/3 intel captures, progress on a control point, or has their cart pushed most of the way, many times the game will abruptly end because one team "had more points when time ran out" because they won the previous round. According to Valve, Stalemates are the worst possible thing to happen during a match as opposed to balanced gameplay.
What grinds my gears is when there's a demoman on the enemy team with 100 points above the 2nd best player with a hale's own grenade launcher and stickybomb launcher just annihilating everything and has 6 dominations and the team can never collectively take him down. I can't tell what I'm more disappointed about, my team or the fact that he's playing way out of his skill bracket. Although I say that as if TF2 has some sort of skill matchmaking.

Well what were you expecting in the US?
Oh no, it's like that in EU too, believe me
[t]https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/34721652/Screenshots/2015-05-29_00004.jpg[/t] For me it always looks like this when using quickplay, I never have any issues connecting to them. I assume that it has to do with your connection.
At first, Quickplay would report the wrong pings (usually 200+ instead of 80 or so like I usually get for Washington/Virginia servers), now it's devolved into this unusable mess. The thing is though, other people seem to be getting the same problems. Only Valve servers too.
They should just remove quickplay from the game, its killing the community servers that made tf2 so popular in the first place
They should just remove quickplay from the game, its killing the community servers that made tf2 so popular in the first place
Sometimes you want a reliable place to play on without pinion/donanter perks/badmins. That's why valve servers matter.
Sometimes you want a reliable place to play on without pinion/donanter perks/badmins. That's why valve servers matter.
It's not that there's anything wrong with Valve servers; it's that quickplay redirects almost all players to the Valve servers, or the leagues of soulless 24/7 whatever servers like skial. You can rarely play on anything else. edit: actually i guess there is something wrong with valve servers now, what with the whole sv_pure 1 thing, but whatever
Sometimes you want a reliable place to play on without pinion/donanter perks/badmins. That's why valve servers matter.
I'd play on Valve servers all day long if they'd stop with the sv_pure shit. That's personally a dealbreaker. It's actually hampering my enjoyment, since the only consistently populated, not-laggy, not a trade server servers that don't have sv_pure on is one of the 24/7 Goldrush or Dustbowl Skial servers.
Sometimes you want a reliable place to play on without pinion/donanter perks/badmins.
Than spend the entire 6 seconds of effort it takes to use the server browser to pick a decent server, it has a filter.
You'd be surprised at how many heavily modded community servers have "VALVE" in their tags. Among other tags that don't convey anything at all about what's actually in the server.
