Butting in, that is the same reason why people find the Iron Bomber so underwhelming. It's functionally identical to the Grenade Launcher when you're using it properly, its only difference is when you miss the mark. Rollers don't make a Grenade Launcher, they are the half-assed gold sticker for effort. Which is the reason why the Loose Cannon is the only other launcher that really feels and plays like its own style of play -- it changes how you handle directs. While rollers can offer some utility in zoning an opponent, they are so unreliable that it's hardly something worth considering, especially when stickies are in the equation. In situations where the player has a shield, I can definitely see rollers being more useful as it's their only method of zoning and space control, but even then it's not worth sacrificing 25% of his ammo capacity to keep a specific spot enemy-free for a second and then reload back to the full 4.
Spies that try and trick stab you. It only took once of each trick stab for me to realize what not to do against these spies, and the key thing is to just keep your distance. It's pretty great chasing a spy who is obviously leading me to some stairs try and stair stab me, only to jump backward and see nothing there because I stopped before I got to the bottom of the stairs. Death is immediate but incredibly painful.
Community servers shouldn't be allowed to use the Valve tag.
Nice try QUILTBAG, but even searching for the valve tag will not save you. They still never show up and are always unresponsive.
I absolutely hate how bad the performance in this game is sometimes, even with a great pc.
I hate people who still bitch about the end of the line update. There is almost none of them but i have seen like two and they are really annoying. And besides, valve let people in the community make an update. No other company does that.

No other company does that.
Valve also made the update suck (content wise, potential new map not added and we got a weapon reskin) AND involve a shitty gimmick that requires money to use with no actual reward. It's cool that Valve likes the community but they don't put in their own fair share of effort. They'll give the community a platform but won't add in their own 2 cents unless it will make them money. So it's okay to be a little annoyed at that.
so i just got backstabbed by a spy that i was about 2 feet away from, and i was facing him the whole time while backing away. i know that lag can be pretty bad sometimes, but jesus, he only had 150 ping.
Hightower severs are generally shit. Honestly PLR on quickplay in general attracts the biggest gaggle of idiots you can imagine, which is sad because I honestly like the gamemode.
Specifically, though I kinda like Hightower as a good DM map where plenty of classes can be effective, pretty much every Hightower server (even Valve ones, but especially community run 24/7 ones) seems to be host to this toxic breed of bind- and dank-meme-spouting, trash-talking immature assholes that keep calling each other out on the use of every damn class, weapon or playstyle you can imagine. It's just constant aggressiveness, insulting binds/memes and accusations, enforcing their views on what's an acceptable playstyle and what isn't and trying to get a reaction out of others. Maybe it's just me getting old in my late twenties, but I really feel like walking into a wretched den of immature teen hyenas every time I join a Hightower server. And if some new or inexperienced guy that isn't aware of the map's reputation and the unwritten rule that you shouldn't cap walks into the server and starts pushing the cart? Then the whole pack of them will descend upon the poor guy with the fury of a thousand salty COD brats and insult and annoy them to the point of leaving or just kick them, without even first asking them politely about not capping.
Don't worry, my friend, matchmaking will solve everything!
Did you learn nothing from EOTL?
It's a scumbag move of valve to take 2 cents of everything that costs less than 0,2 euro on the steam marketplace.
I can understand it for 3th party developers who use the Steam Market, but really Valve... you take literately 30% of a item :l... Adds quite up.
I have to confess I can only play CTF anymore. I can't stand facing more than 1 enemy at a time like you do in CP and everything else. I absolutely love fair deathmatch and anytime i'm getting shot by more than one enemy at a time it just kills my fun. excluding mvm. CTF is perfect for that since it's like an adventure and the general battle areas never change and you never know who you're going to face around that corner and people are usually not organized. A Loch n Load Demo that complains about being killed in one shot, by a random crit no less.
A Loch n Load Demo that complains about being killed in one shot, by a random crit no less.
What goes around, comes around.
Having a harder and harder time finding servers without hackers lately.
I don't know how you guys keep finding hackers. I play almost exclusively on Valve Washington servers and found one on Egypt (who, funnily enough, was actually VAC banned in game - so that was nice and I kept playing)
I decided to make an account here on this forum because I got a lot of crap to share. Once, I was playing a pyro on 2fort. I caught an enemy below the stairs leading up to our spawn, drinking a crit-a-cola. So I roasted him before he could utilize the mini-crits. He then proceeded to whine in the chat that I am a hacker. Guess what's his reason? "gaiz doktor traiherd keeld me when me is boinking" I explained to him that he was drinking a crit-a-cola. A teammate (who I presumed was his boyfriend) started a kick on me. It passed. Maybe that's what I'm gonna get for playing on Valve servers.
Dear god
Let me guess. There's more...
A Loch n Load Demo that complains about being killed in one shot, by a random crit no less.
I don't know why people are complaining about loch n load more now than they did before. It can't one shot 4 out of 9 classes anymore.
I don't know why people are complaining about loch n load more now than they did before. It can't one shot 4 out of 9 classes anymore.
With the damage output it grants, it can effectively leave those same 4 classes dead in the water with only 5 hp remaining. God forbid something sneezed in their direction beforehand. While that's not much better than being randomly 1-shot, it still poses those same problems -- just now it's also causing frustration at the opposite end of the spectrum since it has more capacity to maintain its high damage output even on a miss. Pair that with it being easier to connect with and you have a recipe for a migraine.
I don't know why people are complaining about loch n load more now than they did before. It might be that I'm better at avoiding getting hit by grenades now than I was before but I don't know.
Dunno about you, but 1/3 times facing the lnl i get a grenade exploding in my face from a distance id hardly call direct hit.
I'm a lord exor. send help
You changed Hell-met. What happened to the man I used to love?
doesnt really help they gave it the crutch 3rd shot that it didnt need to make up for if you missed the second shot. the first hit already almost kills them, theres no reason for it to have a third shot.
What I dont get is why it doesnt have a 4th shot. From a deisgn standpoint I mean, is one of the barrels just smaller?
What I dont get is why it doesnt have a 4th shot. From a deisgn standpoint I mean, is one of the barrels just smaller?
The real trick here is that you can't put two grenades in one chamber. Once you do that, and it works, you stop applying common sense to weapon workings and just accept that the laws of physics work differently in that place.
In mvm you can load 16 rockets in to the chamber of the air strike, tf2 was never supposed to make any sense.
TF2 was supposed to make sense in its little world when it launched. Everything was highly exaggerated, but everything was grounded in reality. It wasn't until hats became a big thing that things started to go pretty crazy.
Yeah, like that axe covered in barb wire dealing less damage if you were not on fire.
From the classless update: Maybe if Valve reverts this, it will stop the dreaded lenny faces?
