yep, you are the only one.
"Man the TF2 community is so toxic, these three guys I met on a valve server were so annoying and mean :("
*joins mvm without knowing what to do and expecting it to be just like pvp and refuses to change class because they know they're pr0 at it*
"MVM is so toxic cuz they kicked me without even giving me a chance!"
*enters a tf2center lobby without a microphone and doesn't understand the concept of weapon bans, goes afk cuz mom asked them to take out the trash in the middle of the round*
"Competitive TF2 is so toxic no wonder this game is dying!!"
(these are both things that actually happened to me, at least the first parts)
No, be a nice person and pocket them so they have a good introduction to the game. Also as long as a beginner heavy sticks by the objective and shoots stuff he is useful. Indeed, it is very easy for new players to pick up heavy and do well with him as it is a simple class.
If nothing else, healing him gives him a cushion for not doing as well.
The only downside to this is that it might promote the idea that medic is supposed to pocket the heavy. I've been in several matches pocketing a decent soldier or demo only to have a fairly new heavy either spamming medic even after he's been overhealed or in a few cases they come over chat or mic and demand that me or another medic pocket them.

It doesn't only apply to heavy, but any new player.
Had a weird pub experiance yesterday. I was playing asteroid as a sniper. Just using the bushwaka, jarate, and the huntsmen.
I was just having fun, not going really try hard or anything and i kept on dying a lot but thats not really important.
Anyways, a new player joins the server. He seemed to be kinda new (he wasnt wearing any hats and had "mercenary" on.) He plays for about 5 minutes in silence and then in the chat he asks me to give him my huntsmen. At first i thought he was making fun of how bad i was doing with it; so i just type "lol."
Then he tells me that he will kick me if i dont give it to him. I say "okay go ahead." He calls a vote to kick me but noone votes me off. When it doesnt work he starts spamming in the chat. Begging me to give him the freakin bow.
The huntsmen isnt strange, festive, or anything. Its just a normal freaking huntsmen and this dude is acting like its an unusual or something.
Someone on chat eventually tells him that he has a spare huntsmen that he can give him for free. But the kid just ignores him and keeps begging me in chat. The other dude does eventually get his attention though.
Apparantly; the huntsmen-begger cant trade because his steam account is new. The other dude explains to the begger that he cannot trade, but huntsmen-begger is relentless. He keeps spamming me and the other dude to "stop tricking him." I vote to kick him but he doesnt get enough votes.
Round ends, teams change. He is now on red. I walk on the bridge in the middle of the map and he ambushes me as a scout. I decide to troll him "Now your definitely not getting the huntsmen." He's all like "im sorry, please. I wont do it again." Heheheheh.
Then 2 minutes later he is like "you know what?" Im done just kick me." We tell him just to disconnect but he wont listen. He starts acting depressed. Starts typing things like "i hate my life" "you dont know what is like to be me."
Welp, that goes on until i end up leaving about 15 minutes later.
The end.
I had a similar experience with a 5 year old on voice chat in a server I was on.
Every two fucking seconds this kid got on voice chat and said "Somebody give me a chawgin tawge" This literally went on for like 40 minutes. He eventually starts to yell "SOMEBODY GIVE ME A CHAWGIN TAWGE SOMEBODY GIVE ME A CHAWGIN TAWGE SOMEBODY GIVE ME A CHAWGIN TAWGE" and then we hear his mom come into the room "WHY ARE YOU YELLING" and we hear him say "MOM THESE MEAN BUWWIES WONT GIVE ME A CHAWGIN TAWGE!" and she got on voice chat and said "Why are you bullying my son?" and this one guy said "Mmmm, you sound like a hot milf, send me naked pictures of yourself" and then she immediately disconnected.
That kid never got his "Chawgin tawge"
People who use their mics just to talk shit about their teammates and don't understand that they aren't really helping by being assholes.

"This team can't even push a fucking doorbell I'M OUT"
Or these little kids that you can find in pubs that rage about everytime they are killed, either yelling through the mic or insulting via chat
I wish I was able to presence these weird situations some of you guys were in. Laughed hard at some
I'm still wondering how a coordinated team managed to lose against a uncoordinated team.

Playing as Medic in MvM, deploying the shield to prevent the endless rocket spam that heals the Giant Soldier Bot like 3,000hp per hit from hitting us. Cause he's got like 30k hp, and he's firing three rockets in a very quick burst every other second, which heals a huge chunk per rocket.
And this fucking jerkoff of a heavy will not listen, and constantly walk forward ahead of me despite the ENTIRE TEAM, both chat and mic telling him not to.
This results in me having to advance closer to the Soldier to avoid him being hit, to the point he gets point blank and I have to waste all my Uber canteens so the Bot doesn't heal off us.
Heavy ran out of ammo and turned to fists.
What about the sentry and dispenser that I could have stood in front of with my shield while you get infinite ammo.

4200 HP.
While I guess that Heavy had shit upgrades, that's actually what I usually do as Heavy to take those Soldier down. I just take the first barrage then gun them down right in the face before they can even reload for another salvo.

Little Gordon Ramsays?
Was playing on a skial server a few minutes ago. We were on red and OUR team was attacking. I'm playing engineer trying to set up teleports to places where we could defend the cart and no one helped me.
After having everything blown up by a shitface demoman several times over, I get on the mic and call my "team" out on it by politely telling them "Can you guys try harder to suck less and just work together so we can complete the objective?"
Cue 12 year old on the mic reply with the "extremely witty" response, "Your face sucks".
I think I'm reaching the end of my tolerance level for thees little shits.
If this is what the TF2 community likes, I want no part of it.
Valve will soon stop powering the game's life support via new update whether these pretentious inconsiderate pricks like it or not.

That was one smartass little kid's response to something that sounded like a complaint over the mic. I wouldn't take it too personally nor say this is the result of the TF2 community as a whole.

lol heavies have to get pointblank to them. the giant's killing power is pitiful and the max minigun dps will usually kill them before a reload. trying to melee is just bad playing though.
Why would a team ever need 5 engineers

gotta have dat area denial m80

why win through team work when its easier to cover last in 8 level 3s?

A lot of sentries is a viable option if you place them to cover other sentries blind spots.
But in pubs everyone places the sentries in one spot so i can see why you think that :-v
Why would a team ever need 5 engineers

1 Engineer is smart enough to repair the other 4 Engineer's buildings and knows what he's doing.
The other 4 Engineers are most likely Gibus Engineers who have made a tele exit at spawn, a level 3 facing a wall and are only Engineers because the top scoring person on their team is an Engineer (the 1 good one in fact). They also never repair the other Engie buildings.
I recite this from personal experience which has happened all too often.

You forgot the dispenser, which is blocking the sentries fov.
So I can feed my strange Loch n Load building destructions! :v:
Youre worse than the engineers.
To be perfectly honest if the sentries are spread out enough it won't matter what one demo is using, it won't be enough. Also depends on the map, here's looking at you Barnblitz last.
Well, the Engies I was talking about placed three sentries together, side-by-side.
So, there's no area denial for that.
This fucking shit.

Then shoot through the top, there's a gap for pipes there (unless you're going full caberman).
