Anybody know of YouTubers with similar quality videos to Uncle Dane and Funke (yeah I know you're in the thread don't let it go to your head)? I tried watching ArraySeven but his jokes were all repetitive and really obnoxious.
It might just be me, but after +5100 hours of playing TF2 (which I know it's nothing compared to the +10000 hour folk) I still find a lot of enjoyment out of doing and discovering new things in TF2, either as I play it, or while watching an informative video about it. Just when you think there's nothing else to do within the game, you discover a new playstyle that clicks in with you or a new community to check out every once in a while which you can participate in. You might even participate in some tournament that was just announced a day ago to test your skills, all for fun.
In the surface level, TF2 always seems to give finite possibilities, since there's some many loadouts and maps you can play in. However, beyond that, there's always so much stuff you can do: custom maps you can play in, custom MvM missions you can try out, tournaments you can participate in, so forth and so on. TF2's nearly limitless skill ceiling allows you to keep learning new strategies and skills, as well.
I know it's possible to get tired of TF2, I also got burnt out of it at some point which made me play DotA2 for 1600 hours, but I'd argue there's basically limitless content to make videos out of in TF2. My only gripe with TF2 youtubers nowadays (moreso with new ones) is that their styles make it very difficult to digest whatever they're talking about - they either make their style so deliberately "funny" in order to get views, or so shallow that makes it incredibly boring to watch. I kinda miss STAR_ in that sense (before I knew any better) because he had a likeable personality, and his videos had no enforced style: sometimes the video might have funny moments, sometimes some serious ones, or it might be a tutorial video instead, etc. I don't feel like we get TF2 youtubers like that anymore.
I'm not sure if this game needs a STAR_ 2.0. or a Muselk 2.0. or whatever, but back then I used to be subscribed to many TF2 channels, and now I don't have any (except Uncle Dane, but I'm not 100% interested in Engineer as a class). Hell, even just as I was thinking about this, I thought of maybe creating a TF2 channel just for fun to see where it would get me, so I could become the change I wanted to see even if it's competitive and difficult. I always felt like the TF2 community could do with someone like kliksphillip, which has a very easily digestable and funny, yet informative style to his videos.
If we could get a nice, upcoming likeable TF2 youtuber, I feel like that would benefit the game as a whole, showing everything the game has to offer and what not. Maybe the TF2 Team could do a little something themselves and showcase the most popular TF2 videos of the week, for example, the same way they do with popular TF2 streams but maybe that could become exploitable in some way, I'm not sure, but I do feel like we need a new influx of content creators that could benefit both the community and game.

Off the top of my head the people I watch that still make regular content are Mr Paladin, Woolen Sleevelet, Toofty, Casperr, Sir Stranger and B4nny's twitch highlights. Hi GPS and Ace the Ocerna Maker also make regular content but I'm not a huge fan of their content.

LazyPurple actually seems to be doing more videos with extra effort in editing since his return, so I highly recommend subbing to him if you haven't already.

Use the undocumented NOT query. So something like "rocket launcher NOT decorated NOT paint NOT festivized" with the description box checked.
Do you think we'll get a post from jill this year?

You're assuming there's still a TF2 team in 2018.
Aside from the potted plant and the usual localization patches, it seems we've gone back to the usual valve development schedule of Literally Nothing.

I'd imagine after the positive reaction of Jungle Inferno at least a few Valve employees [del]want[/del] went to the tf team.
edit:fixed spelling
The TF2 team released a string of patches in the month after JI, which was only three months ago with Smissmas in between. I think three weeks with no patch is waaaaaaay too soon to start worrying that the TF2 team is suddenly gone.
I only started looking into TF2 YouTubers maybe two months ago (after being mostly disconnected from the community for the past 6 years), and I've found a good few that have some really great content and commentary that have helped my game even after playing for 10 years. I'm always hungry for more content while I'm driving or working. People complain about e-celebs, but having friendly and informative creators acting as the face of the game are the kind of thing that bring in more people to the community and keep the game alive. If any haven't been mentioned in the thread, I'd love to get a PM or something with a list of more I can check out.
I'm late for the Amby discussion, but I guess I'll say that I've always been a pretty knife-centric spy, and I usually use the revolver to clean up people who have low HP while not getting noticed before I go in for stabs. I usually use the revolver, but the amby is great for securing those clean up kills really quickly in one shot. I don't have to worry about spread or whatever because I never gun people down, I just need one burst of damage. I'd agree that overall it's the vastly less useful gun, but the way it was before encouraged really bad spy play. I constantly saw people just dancing back and forth on the front line or crouching up on the bats trying to score headshots, and that's not what spy's about. I'd rather it be a fun skill-based tool I can use when I can't go for the stab or need to clean up.

I've only been playing for 5 years, but for the past few weeks I've been watching demo reviews by b4nny and Mr. Slin, and I'm starting to really, really understand how to play 6s properly, and I can't wait to get back in the game once I have my new computer.

Actually, it teaches you about when to push, where to push from, who to flash in with an uber (into last, generally), where to run if you're being threatened by the possibility of a bomb, where to stand and where not to stand, who to stand behind, who to heal from the very beginning of the game, who to heal going into the midfight, when to move really fast, when to be patient, and many, many things that a player isn't going to realize just jumping into a random tf2center pug.

This has been big for me. I was a medic on a team that mostly stuck to scrims back in 2009 or so, and coming back into lobby play I've been lost with the amount of changes in how the role and the match in general is played. Watching b4nny streams and SLIN demos have been helpful in teaching me rollouts, heal orders, and the new skills I need.
I really appreciate how self-aware SLIN usually is. He usually has zero problems talking about his mistakes and what he could do better in each situation.

Getting a fat fuckin Family Business meatshot on a double jumping Scout that sends them halfway across mid is like having sex.

What's wrong the model? The textures a bit low res but you can see low res bit of items you couldn't see before with inspecting. Also the tf2 wiki lists two contributors for the dalokohs bar, what's either one of them's reputation?

something about Capo's Capper's being a modified fancy fedora model and him defending it that its not/insulting people who point it out.
[sp]Reminder that it has been 3 months, and we still don't have a banner on the OP[/sp]
I honestly can't get into tf2 youtube anymore, unless it's one of those gmod videos or something with some good/great editing (IE: Lazypurple's new stuff). I guess it's just content burnout at this point.

I have no photo editing skills or visual creativity (I'm a musician). If you want one to be there, make one and I'll be happy to add it.
How about a banner that's half jungle and half space, with Heavy's and Pyro's heads meeting in the middle.
Kind of like this

Don't use the dead ringer. It won't count for the 5-kills-one-life portion if you use it.
