If you're from EU I sure wouldn't mind a little extra help doing bonuses for map contracts.
I'm not in the EU region. What would happen if we tried to queue together? Bad search times, strange regions?
I'm not in the EU region. What would happen if we tried to queue together? Bad search times, strange regions?
One person is going to put in a server outside their region and will get high ping times.
I'm not in the EU region. What would happen if we tried to queue together? Bad search times, strange regions?
From experience it seems to just do whatever. I've been thrown into Sydney servers, German servers, Australian servers. It doesn't seem to know what to do with two people of different regions although it seems to prioritise either the host or American regions.
all I need to complete my whole JI campaing is "defend the control point" on Suijin(6/12), Brazil(8/12) and "kill enemies pushing cart" on Badwater (16/20). :dog:
I honesty decided to just give up on some of the bonus objectives. They just seem like annoying busy work at this point and a good contracker isn't worth the headache. [editline]22nd January 2018[/editline] Also what does everyone think will happen to the new weapons when JI ends? Will they be added to the store and drop system or will the pyroland contracts exist after JI? personally I would love for all weapons to move to the contract system and no longer be sold since it would make the game feel like a much more fair F2P game but Valve would probably lose a ton of money and I don't know how it would affect the economy.
I'm having a bad time with the flare gun contract, anyone else have that one?
i picked mine based on what are the ones i use the most. Aaaand the global warning to not even get close to the Amputator one.
long time since the last vnn video
Darn it I need to get these contracts done so I can get the Gold contracker and I am running out of time but for some reason my contracts stopped tracking progress, what am I supposed to do no- [t]https://image.prntscr.com/image/Z9A1dvi_S1C0Bap31whgiA.png[/t] okay then nevermind
Be careful, mine had this glitch and reset back to normal after a while
So do you think Valve will ever update TF2's VR support? Very strange that the only non VR game of theirs that has a VR mode (besides Dota 2) doesn't even support the Vive.
For the love of god, I hope they fix pyro flames. It's not fun to die through the person you're healing in like 1.5 seconds.
Increase cap speeds and defensive respawn times on lasts so that teams are punished for having been pushed all the way back to last. It will also help to quickly end unbalanced steamrolls.
Isn’t that already done (and mentioned in the developers commentary as one of several methods employed to prevent stalemates)? Or is it only applied to non 5CP maps?
The biggest issue for me with pyro at the moment is definitely flame visibility, sometimes I just can't tell where the fuck the pyro is because the flames are completely opaque.
Speaking of concracts, does anyone need help with their contracts? I want to increase my score in the "(Contract Points Contributed To Friends)" category, and I don't have any points there so far.
If someone does want to try this just add me, I guess.
The biggest issue for me with pyro at the moment is definitely flame visibility, sometimes I just can't tell where the fuck the pyro is because the flames are completely opaque.
I'd say it's 50/50 whether that's intentional or not, to "improve" the sense of chaos when a Pyro ambushes a group.
The biggest issue for me with pyro at the moment is definitely flame visibility, sometimes I just can't tell where the fuck the pyro is because the flames are completely opaque.
The biggest issue for me is the game actually freezing every single time a dragons fury ball is being shot at me. I could deal with dying to DF constantly but it's just 100% out of my hands when I die to it. Just poof and I freeze for half a second, poof again when I unfreeze, causing me to freeze again and then I'm dead. My game does a steady 30 on almost all maps and just in general runs fine. But not DF. The normal flames have a similar effect but they're more bearable.
No idea why Valve would add a relatively expensive effect (dynamic lighting) to the DF fireball when perf is still a sore spot.
the light does not show up for others, only the pyro user.
No idea why Valve would add a relatively expensive effect (dynamic lighting) to the DF fireball when perf is still a sore spot.
That's not the problem, Pyrovision doesn't have the freeze, but it still has the dynamic lighting.
That's not the problem, Pyrovision doesn't have the freeze, but it still has the dynamic lighting.
Wow you're right, I thought it didn't have the lighting. Care to shed some light on the issue Jill?
fixes are being rolled out for Meltdown and Spectre, but they will come with a performance penalty, thus far just how much is unknown Meltdown only effects Intel and ARM CPUs, but Spectre hits pretty much everything manufactured in the last few decades, so AMD isn't that much better off and yeah, Ryzen will still do fine in TF2, it just isn't the best for it if you're trying to push maximum frames and aren't streaming/rendering on the side.
from what i've heard, the performance hit from meltdown might be as much at 30%+ in some cases, which would immediately put intel under ryzen. spectre is more like 1-2%, and amd is only vulnerable to a variant of it that can be dealt with with less performance impact. i guess this is why my friend was so insistent on making sure i got a ryzen.
Wow you're right, I thought it didn't have the lighting. Care to shed some light on the issue Jill?
The Dragon's Fury's dynamic light is a temporal, non-networked entity (also known as TempEnt) that is only seen by the client. In other words, it's not a light_dynamic entity (CDynamicLight, your traditional dynamic light) but a TempEnt defined as a "Dynamic Light" (CTEDynamicLight). TempEnts can be set so they're seen by all players, to a certain client, etc., with little to no hassle, but I think Valve made it like that (only seen by the the Dragon's Fury wielder) so they have some visual feedback in case the player happened to miss with the projectiles and wanted to know how close enough he was to hit. Just a guess.
My game does a steady 30 on almost all maps .
Good god, I'm so sorry
I remember when doublecross first came out I could barely get 20 fps on it.
Doubt it means much but SteamDB is listing an update for TF2
long time since the last vnn video
Correction to this video information, vMcJohn is not Jill as he claims (Jill is actually vJill). They are different people on Reddit.
If someone does want to try this just add me, I guess.
I have points in contract score contributed to friends.
i finally got to the last contract, but then tf2 crashed when i had completed the suijin one and all the bonus kills i needed to complete the bonus objetive got deleted. at least all i have to do now is sit on top of the cp and spam stickies.
Normally I wouldn't help randoms farm contracts but anything I can do to prevent anyone going through the fresh hell that is the jetpack contract is worth it
Just bought Unusual Yeti Punch taunt for 12 eur, the taunt itself costs 8.45 eur in store. How fucked are Unusual taunts
