Fairly positive their unbox rate is the same, and if, even lower than Unusuals. Its just that when unboxing, you essentially unbox "twice" now. Then there is the thing that you can see an unusual the entire time and unusual taunts are only temporary.
We didn't have Unusualifiers and case "Bonus" items back when they were expensive. We had a crate for taunts.
Why haven't we gotten absolutely any new unusual effects for weapons? as annoying as unusual weapons sound in concept, I fully admit the effects are fairly contained and well done, I wouldn't mind more effects being explored.
The biggest reason is their unbox rate, not popularity. Prior unusualifiers, unusual taunts were really expensive.
There's a good reason for that. Prior to Unusualifiers you could only get unusual taunts from two taunt crates (both had the same contents but one had the mechanic where you could narrow down what comes out). The taunt crates had no bonus. There was no "% chance for Strange variant" because Strange taunts didn't exist. There was no runner-up prize like paint you could get; you either get an unusual taunt or you get a unique taunt, and if you're unboxing those crates chances are you already have most if not all of them in unique. Unusual taunts - when introduced - were an awful thing to go for. Just before the update that introduced Unusualifiers was announced, I sold a Midnight Whirlwind Fresh Brewed Victory for 45 pure. Now you're lucky to get more than 15. Taunts are in a good place right now; they're only visible on-use and you're unable to attack while they're active. I feel their old price of "allclass taunt with bad effect higher than decent allclass hat with good effect" was positively absurd.

Do you and unusual taunts have a history or something? It seems like you really want to defend them from any nay-saying.

Once the unusual taunt market stabilizes I think it'll be in a good place for everyone. I can see unusual taunts being a nice "starter unusual" before people get hat / weapon unusuals.
we all do. thats the issue with unusual taunts.
I could quicksell them and still get profit, but I don't need the keys right now so I try to wait.
I could quicksell them and still get profit, but I don't need the keys right now so I try to wait.
Yeah, wait till the new cases fuck off, they'll rise in price a little bit.
Who
You. Who else?
You. Who else?
I'm not defending unusual taunts though, what do you mean I bought one for 12 eur 2 days ago, that's why I mentioned that they're pretty much worthless unusual-wise now.
Thanks for the 20 scout contract points contributed ASIC.

From a vague memory the worst of those (Like the fabled Nuts and Bolts Coupe D'iaster) are around 8 keys. I think people are selling some of the lower tier unusual taunts for like 7 keys. Do you think they are going to drop even lower than that?

We could definitely see them go below that, but traders seem very reluctant to allow an unusual to fall below that price. I think ~3-10 key unusual taunts would be a nice starter market for newer players to get involved in. Obviously there would still be some very nice unusual taunts that sell for much more.

Maybe If Valve keeps re-releasing Unusualifiers and cases every couple of months, which is also unlikely. As much as I dislike Unusual taunts, it would kinda suck seeing "Unusual" item going for 3 keys, honestly.
They sell really well on SCM.
Which ones are you selling? The issue with a lot of the lower value ones is that from what I have heard, they don't seem very desirable. The effects aren't to catchy, and people don't really like the taunt. I think that's the case with one I have, Skill Gotten Gains - Deep Fried Desire. My guess is that the highest tier unusuals will usually be the looping ones,. The ones where you can move about (like the broomstick), probably more so than the ones where you don't (like rancho relaxo).

Sold Cyclone RPS for 27 eur yesterday, took me around 7 hours to sell it. Basically, avoid the "cancer" taunts ( Scout taunts, heavy, demo ) But yeah, scm is your best way to sell taunts, everyone on bp.tf will want to quickbuy your taunts.
2018 is Year of the Dog. (2017 was Rooster, or as I like to call it, Year of the Cock.) IIRC, Blizzard did a number of rooster themed skins in Overwatch a year ago. Do you think we could get a few Doggo themed cosmetics for TF2? I'm sure there are a bunch of appropriate submissions on the Workshop? Valve could surely curate a few of them make a new [del]crate[/del] case. Mmmyeah, that's not going to happen.
lunar new year steam sale soon far fetched as fuck but given thats the first time happenin we might see somethin tf2 related afterall connected to it probably not toh
Maybe I'm misunderstanding what you're saying, but there has been a Lunar New Year sale before.

Is there a tool that - by raw theory - tells you the most profitable Crate to unbox? Like something that takes the current market-value of all items in the Crate, takes in the percentages of getting the items and then adds em all together to give a round up percentage of making the money back?
As much as I dislike Unusual taunts, it would kinda suck seeing "Unusual" item going for 3 keys, honestly.
Then you're going to be awful disappointed in the low tier unusual market. With the definition of "low tier" expanding to include more and more effects and hats every day, things are only getting cheaper. The unusual market in general has been decimated by nothing but quicksell buying prices, and lowball bot sales and pricing, with full or pure amounts rarely paid. There's just no demand. They'll be scrap.tf'd down to a couple of keys eventually.
It changes as time goes on, but any recent crate that still has high-value drops are a good bet. The more high-value drops, the better.

All the commands for the new airblast have "cray" in the name, the command to enable old airblast is tf_airblast_cray 0. I wonder what cray means, maybe you need a Cray supercomputer to run TF2 at 4k 144 fps?

i really want to know what causes valve to shift into nothingness after a short "active" period of time
i really want to know what causes valve to shift into nothingness after a short "active" period of time
Rolling their desks towards more profitable projects. Basically their shitty corporate structure.
