how about you just don't let the pyro near you? I mean he's supposed to specialize in close range combat, and most anything outside of that range still shreds pyro all the same
Question: If an update came and it suddenly changed the Thermal Thruster's model into the Furious Flyer's, do you think anyone would mind at all?

For the maker, a Community Sparkle Furious Flyer would be really cool looking. For the rest of us, not having a clusterfuck of badly interacting polygons on our back would be pretty nice, too.

Also, it takes only a few seconds for a pyro to close that distance on most map areas, assuming 100% foot speed. Oh yeah. And pyro has [I]a jetpack[/I] now. You try doing 175 damage in that amount of time with anything other than the sniper. Unless your enemy is stupid and allows you to direct them in the face/walk in a straight line for bullet weapons, that's not likely to happen as easily as it is for the pyro to flail around and hit you.

A little dependent on what class I am though I guess. If Pyro's are abundant on the server I generally just go heavy and mow them all down before they ( more often or not ) can get close enough to really do anything serious... Soldiers and Demo are easy unless they actually know how to airblast, then I just have to play a little smarter and maybe fall back a little to get better possitioning... Scout I just keep my distance and heckle them to death, no need to get anywhere near their effective area.
How on earth is it controversial to say that missed shots shouldn't deal damage? It isn't a question of whether or not you have trouble dealing with it. It's a dumb way for the game to work.

If they make contact with an enemy they aren't missed shots

I never really find it all that threatening even with the bugged fire... But it appears people like Blades is having a lot of difficulty with them... Thought some advice could help...
is it just me or medibeams are harder to connect now?, i try to heal people and sometimes it just connects for a sec but then spams the medibeam sound and then disconnects, it feels harder to attach the beam now.

Taking guaranteed damage for no reason on missed shots and watching my health drain even after the pyro has died, is. Please re-read. None of your advice helps deal with that bug, as it even effects players who do everything right and still because this is TF2 somehow find a pyro in front of them.
Is it safe to assume that the new Contract System allows for easier and more effective development of Contracts? I'm basing this on the fact that they pulled out the Halloween Contract Campaign and made it work in only a week, unless they worked on Scream Fortress beforehand. While the argument can be made that most of the Contracts existed beforehand, this is more about the System itself you unlock stuff etc. If we are rolling with that, we might get another Contract Campaign on Smissmas as they have shown they are OK with multiple contract campaigns running at the same time. Or are they really going to completely redesign to system to... abandon it a day later and try to reinvent the wheel again?

I've gotten so many kills in places I should have died just because I just shake my mouse like a lunatic.[/QUOTE] To add to this, I literally stood outside the spawn of a Pyro being healed, shot some fire at the door, turned 180 degrees and instantly killed them with Backburner crits because right now it doesn't matter if the projectiles are going toward the enemy's back, just if the Pyro's camera is facing roughly the same angle as the target when the particles hit. It's kind of silly.

Not sure what's causing the airblast spam

Doesn't mean you get to be an asshole about it.

Hey guys, has anyone else noticed that whenever you create or join a server, after the server (or being near done loading) is loaded for you, in the console you can see a message saying "Recognize MM server id [numbers]", is that new or old?

Thanks for playing everyone. Big thanks to the lads that stayed for Uturn and essentially did the first playtest of my first map lel - was ok toh the fp community server truly is magical as every 10 minutes someone finds a hat via an item drop
