I really don't like how the Spycicle works now. Literally could not kill a Spy the entire game because he could go invisible and have immunity to the Pyros on my team. Incredibly frustrating to play against as an Engineer.
That's...how the weapon has always worked, sans it breaking on the launch of this update. Flames still damage and audibly make contact with the Spy, as well. With Pyro's immense buffing and the current ridiculous state of flame particles, there's really no reason any competent Pyro should be having trouble killing Spies.
tbh Im still on the fence whether or not contracts without bonuses would be better as many seemingly find them frustrating or if that would make them boring
The concept of bonuses are fine, but what they actually make you do is either really dumb, or they ask you of too much.

It gives 10 full seconds now. That's honestly a bit ridiculous in a fast paced game like TF2. Maybe I'm just not remembering correctly cause I swore it didn't give a full 10 seconds of immunity on release.

But yeah, I believe that's how the spycicle has always been. The spy gives up his knife for a little while, losing the ability to get picks on people for a chance to get away from Pyro's specifically. The Heavy's Huo Heater also directly counters it as long as the spy can't get over the flames as well to stab the heavy first before his knife melts. ( in a corner, or I believe on a payload works )
-snip, can't read-
Probably an unpopular opinion, since stuns are bad and all that, but I miss the old Sandman stun. It's definitely more balanced now, but it was a pretty fun thing to use. I remember getting the maximum stun time achievement on Degroot Keep by randomly hitting it up into the sky, it landed in the castle courtyard and got some poor guy who had just walked out of spawn :v:
Gunslinger contract seems to not work. I mean the 2 critz bonus.

Now it offers one second of full immunity, with the remaining 9 only preventing ignition. Spy will still take full flame damage, be flickered by said flames, and audibly be hit by them. I've never played against Pyros in Highlander who aren't able to track a Spy-cicle Spy unless that Spy manages to move very unpredictability upon activation, or was simply hit by a stray flame particle while cloaked. The only reason I can think of that this may be changing now is that the brightness and opacity of the current flame particles may be making it more difficult for pub-level Pyros to chase Spies. Even so, with the greatly-heightened DPS and basic knowledge of movement, there's little excuse for a skilled player to fail in this scenario. Otherwise, Spy can easily crouch-jump over the ring of flames and stab him anyways.
Gunslinger contract seems to not work. I mean the 2 critz bonus.
its very finicky and a huge pain in the ass but it does work sometimes, took me like an hour to get end of round crits unfortunately do not seem to count however
there's little excuse for a skilled player to fail in this scenario.
I imagine infallible cloak and ~+50% movespeed is a decent excuse. unless we're not talking about DRicle
hey why isnt there a strange nessie's nine iron yet
I imagine infallible cloak and ~+50% movespeed is a decent excuse. unless we're not talking about DRicle
even DR-cicle is trackable though, I can toss you some HL Pyro demos to demonstrate granted that is a bit more difficult than Invis to track, which is what I was assuming earlier
hey why isnt there a strange nessie's nine iron yet
There's also no strange postal pummeler.
Gunslinger contract seems to not work. I mean the 2 critz bonus.
Play degroot keep and type "+attack" in console so you're constantly swinging and can never interrupt the combo That's how I did it
Huo Long is useless unless Heavy is on stairs or highground. But yes I meant when in elevated situations it can be pretty annoying trying to tackle that heavy for a pick when his flame particles can deny you the pick and... More then likely your get mowed down unless you DR away or what not if he spots it. I should have stated it's situationally better, although I generally stayed away from Huo Heavies even though I knew I was capable of jumping their rings just fine because even one little mishap would lose me my knife lol. Then I eventually just stopped using the Spycicle altogether, not sure why honestly... I just liked using stock knife ( or now Kunai ) just that much more. I need to start using the Big Earner again now too, since the movement speed is rather nice...
so, about the new dds, while I really like having it, it's pretty viable and balanced, but if it's here taking up the old cozy camper role (no afterburn > no flinching) then why was the previous cozy camper nerfed?, it never felt op

Nothing beats having a heavy really close to you shooting you with his minigun and you can still headshot kill him before he kills you lol. DD only really benefits against Pyro's, and you'll still flinch I'd think even against them. Not all all forms of damage won't make you flinch regardless of how charged up you are. Sort of a big difference... I actually use the Cozy Camper more now, but mostly for the regenerating health and the fact I can't rely on secondaries when sniping ( trying to improve my flick head shots ).
even DR-cicle is trackable though, I can toss you some HL Pyro demos to demonstrate granted that is a bit more difficult than Invis to track, which is what I was assuming earlier
not saying it's impossible or I never did it, but if the spy has a working strafe key and a brain it's alot less difficult than it seems. not to mention new airblast no longer pins and now helps targets more often than not. it's just the way you mention "no excuse"... yes scout speed no-afterburn and no-flicking are definitely good excuses.
Nullcore is now detected. Lots of accounts have been banned, including a 2500$ in TF2 items one.
There's also no strange postal pummeler.
or a strange iron curtain, or a strange Scottish Handshake.
Hahahaha, is there a list of accounts banned that I can see for myself?
Gunslinger contract seems to not work. I mean the 2 critz bonus.
It is buggy, you definitely have to have it held down. After some trolldier on hightower (I was there from hightower contract on previous round), bitched me out for playing minisentry engineer on hightower even though I was pretty much just killing him with point blank shotgun, I replied I'm just trying to do the fucking gunslinger contract. Then, someone else on the other team volunteered to help me and we farmed it out after lots of getting mowed down on our way to the farm spot.
Nullcore is now detected. Lots of accounts have been banned, including a 2500$ in TF2 items one.
Hearing that warms my heart. I hope the cheaters lost a lot of money from lock inventories.
Hahahaha, is there a list of accounts banned that I can see for myself?
This list of screenshots is on reddit but it's censored.
Darn, I was hoping to recognize a few uppity competitive players on that list.
The Nullcore Dev's account is VAC'd: http://steamcommunity.com/profiles/76561198360454529 Valve disabled the official NCC group, but this older one is still around: http://steamcommunity.com/groups/WhenYouWantToWin/members Using the VAC ban checker plugin for Chrome, I see lots of red text.
Eh, that list is useless; no one that's attempting to pass themselves off as legitimate would put their names in a group like that.
What if instead of getting a couple new weapons, we instead have the nessies 9-iron and postal pummeler get their own actual original stats since there really is no reason for them to be reskins
Speaking of which, what do you think our next major update will be themed around?
