Yeah this is deffo new. But since when?
whats also interesting, is that queuing system recognizes it as "MvM practice" in the console.

this has been a thing since meet your match at the very least
(and it's fantastic, no more getting matched into 10-slot zero-challenge infinite money servers when you just want to play MvM without a ticket)
Talking about queuing, today I decided to torture myself and keep queuing for Competitive. After lots of matches with either abandoners or spinbot snipers, me, my team and enemy team decided to not give a fuck about 3 abandoners and no XP and we actually stayed in there. It was one of the biggest amounts of fun I had in TF2. After that match, I queued again and got a perfect match! Nice, communicative teammates, formidable foes, and balanced teams. It was really fun, even though we played on Badwater. We managed to win, and I finally got the XP!
Verdict is, that actually competitive is pretty fun, if you give it a chance. A big part of the problem is the community: asshole abandoners and hackers.

Either way, I hope we get a Comp fix update in December.
I don't know, what do you think?
This is perhaps the case, I did have a bit over a million XP pre-Jungle Inferno, and I've gotten at least back up to just around 995k XP of the time of this post. Although, I have only gotten bonus XP (which is just doubling the amount of XP you earn) after leveling up from 150 to tier 2 (currently on tier 3 and it's still only doubled), and the bonus XP labels itself as a prestige bonus, so I don't know if the excess XP everyone on level 150 pre-Jungle Inferno had even exists anymore despite the patch notes stating something otherwise. I'll let you know as soon as I'm sure that I went past my old XP amount whether anything different happens or not.
Also on the topic of the badges, if anyone wishes to see the badges of the other tiers, I have taken screenshots of all of the max level badges (in color that is, so basically level 25, 50, 75, and so on) in all 8 tiers a few days after the Jungle Inferno update launched, and I have them uploaded in this album right here: https://imgur.com/a/fhLi7
I only took screenshots of the original badge design though, I'll retake screenshots of them all in the yeti badge design if anyone wants me to.
all the extra XP you had pre update are taken and stored, then every match you level up normally, you get double XP for that match, and the extra bit you got is deducted from that stored XP you got, so if you had exactly 1 mil XP, you'll keep getting bonus XP till you have 1555000 XP

The bloody Ubersaw doesn't look very good nowadays. They screwed something up with the reflections on it when they added skins for it.

I hope this counts for the standalone version too, if not :suicide:
So, Festivizers. They will undoubtedly be updated to include all new weapons, and the Smissmas case(s) will have Festivizers as bonus drops. This is almost guaranteed - but then again we also thought "but Halloween has always been a MAJOR update so there's no way it'd get downgraded to a minor one this year!" so anything can happen. This is irrelevant to my thoughts though.
The TF Team likes these campaigns as it encourages most users to pay $5.99 as a one-time charge for exclusive rewards. You know what other part of TF2 includes "campaigns" that people have always gladly paid for multiple times over? MvM. I personally have 99 tours logged on my badge and that doesn't even include the other tours (granted they're all less than 10) or the times I've purposely replayed missions that I've already beaten so they wouldn't consume my ticket. I love MvM as a gamemode, and it's oddly one of the few things that, despite not being regularly updated, is apparently tested enough that a big update won't break it for months at a time - unlike the Replay system which has apparently been entirely forgotten.
I'd love if the TF Team were to make a couple new MvM tours that grant tool items akin to Festivizers but grant you the Botkiller heads as the main loot type (along with Australiums as the rare "hi you wanted an SMG?" reward). Botkillifiers?
It'd be a huge undertaking, I'm sure; all weapon classes (like ~20 I think?) plus the different skins for each. Not to mention there's also the other 7 classes besides Heavy and Engineer they could make Botkiller versions of. Oh, I know! Helltower skeleton Botkillers for beating a new mvm_ghost_town tour/mission!..
[t]https://i.imgur.com/OgW10QX.png[/t]
okay maybe not
But really, I think Festivizer-esque Botkiller tools would be the "next" evolution in Valve's continued development into decorated weapons and MvM, especially given that MvM has proven it can withstand the test of time and still continue to bring some income into the game. Adding into the fact that there's already "tiers" of Botkiller weapons (Silver MK. II usually at the bottom, Gold MK. I usually at the top), they could make the different types graded as well just to shoehorn in the "this one is clearly better, you can tell because it has red text" thing.
I just want to dangle a robot head on my fancy weapons. :(
But that implies that there are people in the TF team right now that have the skill to code mvm related content as much as the people who coded mvm back in 2012.

I mean, isn't MvM literally just modified CTF?
The biggest problem with matchmaking right now is that the "unranked mode" has almost nothing to do with the 6v6 mode of competitive, and you can't prepare for one by doing the other. A new player finds matchmaking inherently intimidating because there's literally no way to prepare for it. There is no unranked 6v6 pubs or casual mode, there's just competitive mode and that's it, as far as official support for 6v6 goes. As far as unofficial support goes, there's pugs, which are even more high skill level than matchmaking. Therefore, with no routes available to try 6v6 or practice before being thrown in with the wolves, new players don't even try to play comp.

I'm pretty sure Valve does the same thing with CSGO though, they have unranked which is 10v10 and the equivalent of TF2 casual and then 5v5 ranked which is the equivalent of TF2 comp.
I'm pretty sure Valve wants comp and casual to be similar enough that casual pretty much is practice for comp matchmaking.

If 6v6 becomes the base pub mode, I don't think I'll be playing TF2 anymore.
If 6v6 becomes the base pub mode, I don't think I'll be playing TF2 anymore.
There needs to be at least an option for unranked 6v6 pubs. And we need that new server browser so that community servers can last. Maybe Valve can include a "donate to this server?" message after you leave one, giving you some options.
At least add an option so you can get queued to a 6v6 casual game if the game coordinator can't find a full 12v12, people who don't want to get such games will just untick the box, but will have to wait more to get queued to a full match

Remember when you didn't have to wait at all to get into a 12v12 match? Good times.
How I didn't know this

Wait, does it mean that you can literally licence TF2 characters to appear in your game
What are the legal boundaries of this
Can I make TF2 fanfic RPG and sell it for money

Valve is usually pretty damn open about their IPs

Okay, I guess I missed that part
Reminds me when fuse launched on steam and had stuff like scouts head etc
I'm pretty sure there were some shitty greenlight games that used it because of that
6v6 Payload kinda sucks.
if they made cart pushing in 6v6 twice as fast it wouldn't suck
Finished all the contracts, they are fun. Hope the TF2 Team takes the feedback and improves upon them (If they give us a Junction one, I'm going to eat my own beard)
Oh, and I'm playing in brasilian servers 7 out of 10 times. I'm slowly learning portuguese.

Were these always in the Mann Co. Catalogue?
Here's an idea: Based on your Contracker Rank, you'll get a hat.
Here's hoping the Never Forget one is Australium.
EDIT: I just realised the Never Forget Hat came with additional Poopy Joe lore and that he was a commercial monkey not intended for space; Did they steal a monkey?
