Contracts themselves are riddled with bad issues, but there is absolutely no excuse for Valve making a contract that requires being on 2fort. I give Valve a lot of credit, and I let a lot of stuff slide, but this is such a deliberate unforced error. For shame.
I like the fact that they've allowed us to choose our own path through the contracts and to cometimes pick which class/weapon you want to do contracts for, but they've really messed up with the selection of non-Jungle Inferno maps for which you have to do contracts for, and for introducing a lot of very bullshit and frustrating bonus objectives that go terribly with these specific maps. Or bonus objectives that go against/clash with normal, efficient gameplay, forcing you to attempt inefficient, dumb, suicidal, frustrating stuff. I feel like the old system focused on specific classes and weapons and only the new, event maps w/o bullshit objective bonuses was MUCH less stressful and clashed less with one's normal gameplay.
While it's less than perfect, I kinda think the dragon's fury is better designed than any other flamethower ever has been.

And not only are we missing an Enclosure contract but there's no contract for Borneo, the only other official map that fits the jungle theme. Come on Valve.
While it's less than perfect, I kinda think the dragon's fury is better designed than any other flamethower ever has been.
yeah DF is fine after some more testing. It's easily countered by flamers, DDS and decent movement.
The problem comes when the TF2 Team decides to pick 2Fort, Turbine, Hightower and Dustbowl for contracts with grindy, objective-based bonuses that have high requirements. Maps notorious for rounds dragging on forever due to how difficult they are to cap and for attracting the toxic or fuck-around-for-hours-and-DM type of crowd that actively ignore or even discourage playing for objectives and finishing rounds, to the point where they literally harass and kick others. A clash of cultures in all its glory, regular folks doing contracts having to share servers with the special-breed weirdos (no offense, I can't describe them as anything else) that treat these maps as their little fiefdoms/havens where normal habits don't apply and anyone coming in for contracts during an active Campaign is intruding on their concept of mindless 'fun' that they've been at for years and will still be able to after the campaign ends. What kind of an idiot/sadist/troll within the TF2 Team chose these maps for objective-based contracts, I have no idea. Newsflash, when it comes to certain all-popular TF2 maps, a map's extreme popularity does not mean that map is actually played with objectives in mind or loved because of its gamemode, and might foster a very specific culture or attitude among people who play it religiously.
Sadist? Troll? Jill.
yeah DF is fine after some more testing. Two questions regarding how War Paint rewards work: 1. Are the Decorated Hero War Paints that you get from Keyless Cases guaranteed to be FN (like the ones you specifically buy with Blood Money) or is their wear random? 2. Are Contract Campaigner War Paints (the ones you get as contract rewards) all FN or is their wear level random? I'm thinking whether I should buy such War Paints in FN condition off the Market or wait untill I can get them with Blood Money or as contract rewards, but I'd like to know what wear level those rewards can have.
yeah DF is fine after some more testing. It's easily countered by flamers, DDS and decent movement.
It's basically the direct hit for Pyro. Yeah you'll output a lot of damage but it's nothing to cry over since it's so easy to counter.
Except that it doesn't do any more damage than stock.
Except that it doesn't do any more damage than stock.
Oh, I thought the minicrits make the DF out-damage stock in DPS. Guess I'm mistaken then.

Random, opened several keyless cases and got varying results. 2. Paints you get by completing contracts? You only get keyless cases that work like the ones I explained above.

Sell those on the Market and use the proceeds to get the FN Contract Campaigner/Decorated War Hero skins off the Market instead?
Oh, I thought the minicrits make the DF out-damage stock in DPS. With the Dragon's Fury, Pyro is now afforded the ability to corner strafe while outputting good damage. Because of its range increase, a Dragon's Fury Pyro certainly has an edge over enemy Pyros granted he doesn't needlessly engage them at close quarters.

Since it's sent back as a mini-crit and you presumably burn the pyro right before the reflect, it's massive damage and there's little the DF can do. really, stock and degreaser shit on the dragon fury.
They doubled the speed boost effect duration for the Disciplinary Action (from 2 to 4 seconds), not sure if intentional or not. EDIT: This is no longer the case, as the duration was reversed in the next patch.
They doubled the speed boost effect duration for the Disciplinary Action (from 2 to 4 seconds), not sure if intentional or not.
As someone who uses it fairly often, i'd be very confused if it was intentional considering how valuable speed boost already is.

If you were wondering why valve switched offices the designated pyroland room needed to be somewhere Source boys
I'm pretty sure it fires faster than the Pyro can airblast.
you don't need more than one reflect and a little burn. it's 135 damage. Not to mention DF isn't going to get its firing bonus if the cloud is sent back to him.
I think reflecting dragons fury shots is a viable option, but due to having a shorter range to work with and the situation of hitting them with flame particles+land a reflect nigh simultaneously, it's not some one-sided thing where traditional flamethrowers dominate DF. It's a pretty decent matchup really.
1. Random, opened several keyless cases and got varying results.
Was it originally like random wear, was it changed to that from factory new?
Was it originally like random wear, was it changed to that from factory new?
It was always random.
AFAIK, the only warpaint from the contracts that's always Factory New is the Dragon Slayer, for obvious reasons.
AFAIK, the only warpaint from the contracts that's always Factory New is the Dragon Slayer, for obvious reasons.
I believe that there's no other warpaint in the contracts, besides the cases. Also, congrats on 2k posts.
Also, congrats on 2k posts.
hmm i'm gay also! something about tf2. The Nuke looks good. I like it.
God whoever made 2fort the gateway to the map contracts was a fucking idiot. I've been sitting in our intel room from 10 minutes now and nobody has shown up the entire time.
