Here is the thing. In tf2 you have to be aware of distant stuff. For instance sniper is a class and can basically instantly kill anyone. A crit rocket blaring at you is at least a little bit more noticeable than a sniper (or their laser dot) hiding somewhere.
Rockets don't do 270 damage though. They do 90 damage with falloff and rampup, at all times. That's how it should be.
Hours don't mean shit, stop pointing at that. I don't have issues with crits at all and I have over 7k across two accounts. Then again it's impossible for me to get mad at tf2 because how can you, the game's a fucking meme.
You have to be trolling. You have 1k hours in TF2, you can't be this ridiculously blind to these issues. Of course it's your fault that you were unaware, but in normal gameplay, the game wouldn't punish you with death for being unaware of a distant rocket, unless you were already at low health.

Rockets don't do 270 damage though. Another lesser example is the Cow-Mangler 5000 whose charged attack can basically oneshot 3 out of 9 classes at long range.
the game's a fucking meme.
This is the biggest problem with the TF2 community. The game will only grow if competitive is supported and advertised by Valve, with massive balance changes and overhauls that make the game much better, but there are still people out there that believe that the game is nothing but a joke, a hat simulator, a party game, or any other term used to describe the game as non-serious.

If you want that go play Overwatch, and see how forcing their competitive shitfest on the community did.
Not every game needs to be super serious competitive. Overwatch is an unskillful hybrid of MOBAs and FPS games (rock paper scissors, press q to win). TF2 is probably the most skillful first person shooter there is (CS:GO may top it but I've never played it so I don't know).

Id like to use this hour of distress as another mention that if we do get real comp this Smissmas, all these issues would be solved as the crit-lovers can just play casual while the real boys go for comp as a way to play tf2 without crits that isnt tf2center. Lets hope for the best amen
why are you shifting to non-random crits (which literally 100% of everyone is ok with) ?
I was pointing out an issue in those posts of his I quoted. Some of the things he said about random crockets from long distance also applies to those.

No thank you, TF2Center, I don't want possibly malware-laden advertisements to appear just because I feel like playing a better version of TF2. Ask for donations or fuck off
[t]https://i.imgur.com/heTEcSP.png[/t]
Wait, did you make this [del]bike[/del] crit-cuck picture because of my post?
The Cow Mangler might be just a hair OP, at least in pubs, since Jungle Inferno's re-jiggled afterburn mechanics. In my opinion it's still less of a straight upgrade than the Iron Bomber. Also, full disclosure here, killing snipers with full changed shots and seeing them get mad about being killed from across the map is one of my favorite things in TF2. I don't think anyone ever has considered the Kritzkrieg OP. While it's a hell of a lot of fun to use, it's basically a straight downgrade from stock in most situations.
I'm way ahead of you guys. And if comp does get fixed, the TF2 Team will also have to take care of cheaters as well, or at least make reports do something. It's not going to be a magical "fix" for crit haters, and there's also the lack-luster map pool which I hope they fix.

its not like all of the weapons that have the downside of no random crits suddenly become broken once all weapons can't randomly crit, if anything it'd be a well needed buff for some of the less powerful weapons that cant random crit
I think I just experienced the memory leak glitch with TF2. I played for about two hours this morning, and as soon as I exited the game, my computed BSOD'ed with the error code "memory management." I also recall bringing up the command box in game briefly, and it being completely covered with red error messages (probably the MP3 file can not be found error)
No amount of RNG should exist in TF2. At all.
Personally, I don't mind randomized spread patterns too much, as it promotes aiming for the center of mass and designates an optimum range for the weapon. As long as it isn't too crazy, and the player is aware of it (the reticle being a ring that within which designates where the pellets are guaranteed to hit an enemy), I think keeping it random is, at worst, tolerable. [editline]12th December 2017[/editline]
Wait, did you make this [del]bike[/del] crit-cuck picture because of my post?
I made it more for the argument in general. For some reason, your posts were the ones that made me connect the dots between the arguement and the meme. So yes and no.
Random critical hits are a communist idealology. Anybody who supports them thinks every player in every match should have an equal amount of skill. A player day one to the game should not have a chance to kill a player with 3,000 hours to the game.

I know I have over a hundred health. I know if I hit him point-blank I will kill him. I know I can close that distance faster than he can shoot two rockets. I know that even if he hits me with a direct rocket I'll survive. I know that he only way he could live is if he jumps away OR perfectly places a rocket beneath my feet to juggle me straight up in the air. If they can pull that off, I'd be impressed and say they deserve that kill. lol nvm he got a random crit and killed me, sure am glad I used all that game sense to take that risk :^)

The point of the weapon should be to always aim for center mass, but in games like CS:GO where spray isn't random, you can aim the weapon based on the non-random spray, and it's as if there is no spread at all, something I'm not in support of.

That there is no way you could react to prevent dying when up close?
Random critical hits are a communist idealology. Anybody who supports them thinks every player in every match should have an equal amount of skill. A player day one to the game should not have a chance to kill a player with 3,000 hours to the game.
classes are all naturally stronger against another. if you got basic knowledge of WASD and mouse1, pick your class well and stick with your team you have just as much chance as anyone.
don't be fooled by the new airblast. some of the old problems are gone but it has its own new idiotic issues and it's nowhere as close as say, a rocket push. we're not quite there just yet. Although it's somewhat an improvement yes.
What’s wrong with it? I’ve seen you say this a few times but it’s hard to judge when airblast is “invisible”.
So, whats the basic issue you have here? That there is no way you could react to prevent dying when up close?
The issue was that he WAS going to win, in that scenario, had RNG not decided to give the soldier a random crit. His skill at the game was going to let him win, then a completely random variable got him killed for no reason. He was the better player in this instance, and he died anyway.
What’s wrong with it? I’ve seen you say this a few times but it’s hard to judge when airblast is “invisible”.
well first of all its "new strength" is questionable. One push being as long as the 2fort bridge isn't exactly fun for anyone. I don't want my targets to get that far as pyro. I'm a close range class. the "aimable" thing is not really true. No special care is required at all to pull an effective push, it's exactly like before. you don't actually need to duck or aim upward where you want them to go. just do exactly the same thing as before and people will slide 10 meters backward. again, airblasting people straight down into the ground shouldn't magically push them up. it's still super baked and full of nonsense. the only positive fix they did is it's easier to escape from when moving.
Not every game needs to be super serious competitive. If you want that go play Overwatch, and see how forcing their competitive shitfest on the community did.
Overwatch is a garbage competitive game, unlike TF2 Blizzard lablelled it as competitive right out the window, forgetting that A. games need to actually be entertaining and interesting to watch to be worth being competitive, B. The core game itself needs to be balanced and fun to play, a game can't just be solely competitive, which they failed at when they let the meta be dominated by 3 specific characters for a half of a year, and C. Just because MOBAs are popular doesn't mean every game needs skills inspired by them, it severely limits how much fun and interactivity you get out of specific characters, while also making them hell to balance because they all add up to the character, instead of weapons (like in TF2) being the problem
I'm pretty sure the last two were because they were airblasted onto a slope or something, and not because of the airblast
i'd love to see a rocket or pipe trigger that.
