Damn i was hoping i could put them on the invasion or bread reskins.
Blame valve for accepting artstyle killers, not hardworking community members making what valve chooses to be successful items.
Disliking items for their out of placeness is fine. Taking that out on the creators is not.
Has anyone insulted the creators?
edit: yes apparently

dont you love how people keeps using "art style" as a buzzword for "i dont like this cosmetic item that ruins my spytech 1960 fantasy"
mfw smissmass doesn't have any rebalances and the ambassador is most likely going to continue to be unusable until summer

I see tons of people using it, quite sucessfully aswell.

It's objectively worse than stock or Diamondback, even if you headshot every shot. What used to be a strong sidegrade is a straight downgrade now. Unless your target is already hurt and you're close to them (and don't feel like just Revolver bodyshotting instead, which is way quicker and easier) there's no point in running it.

Then they aren't aware of the Diamondback or L'etranger, both of which are insanely better.
All in all, I think this was a great update. As I said a few pages back, I was expecting absolutely nothing, and instead some of my favourite workshop skins were added to the game. But from this point forward, can we please stop with the pink/sky blue with random cutesy cuddly animals skin theme now please? They all look gaudy, unoriginal, and almost exactly alike. Let's leave that theme with the Tough Break update.

1960s spytech fantasy? You mean the game's very design and setting?
Oh excuse me, I didn't realize that the goddamn plot premise was now some fantasy afterthought pushed aside by pastel and unicorn hoodies.

You're gonna be shocked to hear that the Tyrant's helm, a(n inaccurate) viking helmet, was one of the first hats ever added, and was not in fact related to spytech in any way.
I used to also believe the "the artstyle has a purpose and you shouldn't betray it for cosmetics" stance, but after looking through update pages, one of the very first updates talks about rocket jumping being invented by Abe Lincoln. The game can be goofy and have weird cosmetics. It's when the cosmetics are promotions or straight up ripped from other games (like the Batman hood that is literally just Batman's hood from the Arkham promotional thing) that you should be upset.
That being said, the Balloonicorn fad should hopefully end with this baloonicorn hat, especially since it's not even Pyroland exclusive like every other balloonicorn cosmetic.

you know he had to do it to it
Next thing you're going to tell me 1960s Russian expat mercenaries didn't wear football helmets.

Just the pyroland stuff finding its way outside of pyroland. That's the whole reason why it exists separately from the main game.
Those items are purposefully meant to be unfitting for the main game, but also fitting in pyro land, so keep them there.
Football helmets and Viking hats aren't as visually jarring as a bright unicorn hoodie being worn by a grown man also carrying a pastel pink minigun in the middle of a firefight in a clearly non-frilly atmosphere.
I do understand your dislike but at the same time, it definitely is as visually jarring, especially when you can paint the viking helmet to be pastel pink or mint. You have a fair argument with the war paints, but I personally am always for cosmetics, even if people get their more jarring ugly preferences, more customization is never bad.

We don't have a playerbase that cares about art style of the game. Probably like 5% of the playerbase does, if not less. Valve doesn't care either, as long as it makes them money, they'll release it.
Reason why festivizer bug was not reverted. Those festivizers are making them a fortune rn, mass sales on scm, crates being unboxed to get festivizers, etc.
The lime and pink sort of paints were a mistake too. But we can't do anything about that now.
The pyroland enthusiasts can have all the customization they want, so long as it's kept within pyroland where it actually makes sense.
Do you also apologize for the banana? :v:
I'm in talks with Valve RIGHT NOW about getting the Bananades removed from the game.
Don't apologize for anyone.
It's a joke
I like the new cosmetics, skins, and the new festive weapons.

so what's the reason there's only a specific handful of weapons selected for warpaints, again?

Maybe they asked the makers of the community made models if they would use war paints with them, also model recognition, a painted minigun and natascha would be very similar. I would like the force-a-nature, baby face's blaster, and hitman's heatmaker to be able to use war paints though. Maybe the quickiebomb launcher too.

I don't think it has anything to do with model recognition. Shahansa can be painted but not stock kukri or bushwacka. Soda popper can be painted but not force-a-nature or bfb or backscatter. Winger can be painted but not Pretty Boy's Pocket Pistol. None of the scout bats can be reskinned. List goes on.
Maybe they only added paintability to the most used weapons to maximize money?
so can we finally 'remove kebab' ingame with all these taunts now?

shahanshah but no kukri kills that thesis

The "Pyro The Flamedeer" cosmetic could be lumped in as well.
On a similar note, the new Balloonihoodie cosmetic has officially convinced me that Halloween restrictions might as well be removed. If that kind of shit is allowed on the reg, just allow octopus-bird-pony Heavies full time now. It's almost the same thing as the Magical Mercenary.
