The stuff of Nightmares.
All for Pyro too, when will heavy get this outfit?! [t]https://i.imgur.com/yxt4xRA.jpg[/t]
The "Pyro The Flamedeer" cosmetic could be lumped in as well. On a similar note, the new Balloonihoodie cosmetic has officially convinced me that Halloween restrictions might as well be removed. If that kind of shit is allowed on the reg, just allow octopus-bird-pony Heavies full time now. It's almost the same thing as the Magical Mercenary.
Where's the profit in that? Bring out the one time use tool that removes the Halloween restriction and allows full year use and everyone can see it! Only $100 off the steam store... If people still buy that crappy ring, they'll eat this up! Valve's set for life!

Come on guys, chill out a bit on raggin' on the new items. A lot of people worked really hard on these things, and I understand that for some people, its not their cup of tea - and that's fine! People make items for fun, to relax, and to just have good times doing what they love. You're not obligated to like the items, just let people be happy that their work got in, you don't have to like the item if you don't want to - just don't drag it through the dirt as hard as you can. Be excellent to each other!

That doesn't mean I'm not going to express my distaste towards said item.

But they submitted these things fully knowing that they help crumble what's left of TF2's 1960s spytech aesthetic. Until valve gives up and redesigns the friggin' box art or something, that's a valid thing to beat these things up over.
Used the Unusualifier box troter and got the effect Screaming Tiger... [t]https://steamuserimages-a.akamaihd.net/ugc/904526663727377060/4BDE48F402A027CCAC970398F4B204AB53020001/[/t] No one will ever suspect a thing! I swear!
Seeing as everybody has gotten a free backpack expander, how does everyone organize their backpacks? Right now I have my first page just as the one where weapon drops to craft in to metal go, and the next 3 pages are the entire library of weapons in the game. Then it's war paints, junk like gargoyles, achievement hats, power up canteen, spellbooks and stuff I would like to sell off. Then after it's weapons with special skins or reskins, and then my cosmetics.

That doesn't mean I'm not going to express my distaste towards said item.
I'm gonna regret throwing in my two cents here, but remember that the people you "express your distaste towards said item(s)" are human, and people who create these things for fun and leisure. Some do it to escape and forget about life for awhile, and some hope to find happiness in it. I can be fine and swell if people say they don't like or even hate said items. I've even had people say they've hated a handful of things I helped create through direct messages. But when it's a constant drag of comments on a thread for over two pages or so, though, is when it's already past the point. With the current topic of cute/pink items- it's not hurting anybody. Turn a blind eye to it, if you really must. If you happen to uncrate any of said items, feel free to delete it or even trade it off to someone who might enjoy it more. You can express distaste, but when it starts becoming a cry to get these things removed downright is when you're hurting contributors and the passion of what they love to do. This community is huge, and I can only hope for more positive comments to be thrown to the people who work hard to deliver what they hope you all enjoy. Just more positivity in general does a community in itself good. I'm not gonna lie when I say it's a bit discouraging to see certain negativities when I browse around the internet in my free time, but if these items really hurt the people playing the game so much, don't be afraid to e-mail the tf2 team about it. While hard to get a response from them, when I met with Eric back in August he stated for a fact that they read every single e-mail they receive. Send them something constructive, your worries, your questions. Eric was one of the most genuine people I've met in a long, long time, and I'm sure they put consideration in for all the e-mails they get. A bit out there, but it's a direct approach to all of this stuff goin' on if people are really this bothered At the end of things, I still hope people enjoy playing the game. I hope these cutesy items don't stop people from having a good time. Sorry if any of this sounds dumb, but I had to jump in just real quick.
Lazypurples server is the best place to unbox crates, and unusualify taunts. Congrats, you found the loophole.
I unboxed that on a server Lord Exor runs... He blessed me! But then again, my unusual war paint came from Lazy Purples server lol.
None of that sounds dumb, well said fuzzy. I think people take so much of an issue, because a big part of this game's appeal comes from a consistent art style, found both in pyro land and normal gameplay, respectively, allowing the user to immerse themselves in one or the other. Ive seen people only really get mad when that consistency is broken, and you have suddenly a user experience that doesn't make sense and is visually jarring, as not everyone understands what pyro land is and why its relevant to an otherwise '60s spytech world, and instead see a bunch of otherwise out of place cosmetics that detract from the aesthetic that drew them to the game in the first place. Although valve here is just as much responsible for this problem too, as they accept the items on whatever grounds they do.

Second page is soldier cosmetics, followed by weapons, so on and so forth. I have a few misc pages for things like tools and paints. Sorry if any of this sounds dumb, but I had to jump in just real quick.
I'm not asking for the pink cutesy items to be removed from the game, as much as they may bother me. That is fruitless; the TFTeam seldom removes anything. I did suggest outright removing Halloween restrictions in light of these kinds of items just being allowed full time. If an all-class pony hoodie is just in the game now, just go ahead and remove the restriction on the other all-class pony hoodie, why not. It is absurd how items like the aforementioned are allowed un-restricted, but at the same time we have stuff like the Emerald Jarate which fits with the game perfectly, but is restricted. And as for the negativity, I agree that more positivity does any community good. But you cannot force people to be positive about something. There is a reason why these kinds of items are widely disliked, and have been for years and years, and will never not be in that status.
mfw smissmass doesn't have any rebalances and the ambassador is most likely going to continue to be unusable until summer [t]https://puu.sh/yLt67/0daa1e6401[/t]
I like how the ambassador being shit has made the enforcer "good".
So something is seriously wrong with my TF2 and I can NOT figure out how to fix it For Starters the console just clips through the hud, which in turn is compltley missing the background [t]https://i.imgur.com/nQWqnCm.png[/t] Bonus: Pressing on ANY key or drop down menu will not work, it just wont. I have NO mods installed, NO custom configurations I reinstalled the game, verified cache etc... It's just, broken The only way to get ANYTHING to work is by joining a game, which I can't do because again clicking anything doesnt work, and the console is completely invisible.

Artstyle/theme killers aren't going to disappear. At this point outlandish cosmetics are pretty much the only thing keeping the game relevant. I don't mean that spitefully, I mean when the average person thinks of TF2 the most common perception is its existence as a dress-up simulator. Which is unfortunate because it's so much more than that. The game is old and TFTeam's doing the only thing they can think of that will satiate players who have waited years for something new. Adding wacky XD items. And if the bottom feeders are lucky enough, one day the game might get a real form of progression that doesn't rely on cosmetics.
wonder if we're gonna get a pink "Jungle Inferno" at valentines we're on the third form of JI now.
if you dislike it that much send valve an email.

I just want winter themed cosmetics in my winter themed case
Add "2007 vision goggles" to the game that remove all cosmetics, skins, etc for the viewer
Add "2007 vision goggles" to the game that remove all cosmetics, skins, etc for the viewer
hatless mods exist and i imagine would be pretty easy to self-engineer
I like hats.
Add "2007 vision goggles" to the game that remove all cosmetics, skins, etc for the viewer
I wouldn't mind this, just lock it behind a new 2007-related achievement (play a round without any cosmetics?) so anyone can get it if they want to
The Blast Blocker (not to be confused with the Blast Defender) is definitely the best actually demolition-related Demoman cosmetic that's been added since the Double Dynamite in 2014.

I was having a similar issue when I tried using Discord's in-game overlay.
I like how the ambassador being shit has made the enforcer "good".
even then "Good" is a bit of a stretch, you'd still be better off running any other non-Amby gun. now it's just...not the worst, I guess. on the bright side, I guess I can continue my crusade of getting Diamondback nerfed/avenging Amby's unjust death by abusing it to hell and high water. I saved up 7 crits earlier today and used most of them to melt a buffed Heavy before he could do anything about it.
