tbh i dislike the "pocket X" trend. "pocket medic" works because of the pun in the name, but having 20 items in game named "pocket X" is just uncreative. Why not use "Adorable Snowman" like its called in the workshop description? Why "Pocket Santa" when you could use "Lil' St. Nick?"
Also i thought demo already had a bagpipe cosmetic either on its own or as part of another cosmetic. Not saying the one in this update shouldn't've be added, but i wanted to compare the date it was added as this update's was submitted in 2012.
probably cause it wouldnt work as an all/multi class item, unlike a generic npc character or reference which "fits" each class and would be more popular to unboxers.
To be honest with you it was the secondary name valve picked the one they preferred
Ill be frank with you: Pocket Items would be the Nr.1 bad cosmetic type if it wasnt for medals.
When we finally get a badge/medal slot they will be redeemed cause theres quite a few donation medals that id wear if we had a slot for them.

As the main concept artist behind the balloonihoodie, I never knew it'd make so many people angry and upset. I know I came in earlier to talk, but being gone for half the day and coming back to so many pages filled with so much steam, I just have to throw in one more post. I really do apologize I made so many people upset for something that I intended to make people smile about, from the bottom of my heart.
Like I mentioned before, I do concept/texture art and all the workshop stuff to cope with some not so fun feelings. I love cute stuff with all of my heart. My desk is filled with cute lil knick-knacks to help make me smile, to not worry for awhile, and to hopefully inspire me to create something that'd replace dreary days for others with something bright and warming.
Contrary to what others say, the workshop, at least for me, is not for the money. The money helps, sure. Like holy hell, I was able to get back on anti-depressants for the first time in years today because the workshop is so damned supportive of letting people have the artistic freedom to create anything to their heart's content. I have so much to be thankful for when it comes to the positivity this community has brought into my life. I've learned so much because of the tf2 community, and I have many new skills to take home because of this all.
Right now though, my emotions are a mixed bag. I feel embarrassed I even helped make the item. I feel like I have to second guess my cosmetic loadout choices now because people will get upset that I'm wearing a "pony" item when my only intention was to spread a little bit of happiness to others in the form of a soft hoodie. I feel like I have to apologize to my co-contributors for helping because of all this stuff that's been happening for a good day now. They don't deserve all the hate, and I can't help but to apologize again for making something that many people find distasteful. I feel bad about all of this.
I don't do this to pander. I don't do this to become rich and wealthy. I do this so I have something to look forward to creating when I can. While I can only speak for my story, please remember that workshoppers are all doing this for matters other than lots of the bad that I've seen many people think.
When it all boils down, please e-mail the tf2 team with your worries. Writing something constructive and polite can make your voice heard. I'm not sure how to end this, but I'll do better next time. I'm sorry.

Don't worry about it though, It's just a game and It's just virtual items. It's all good.
T-Thanks.

be so careful and realize that FP is a vocal minority when it comes to things like this and that there are more than enough people out there thatll have a dumb grin on their face seein cute shit in tf2
hell even in FP id say the peeps hating on this item are a vocal minority, dont get the wrong idea - even though I can understand where their frustration comes from, tf2 as of late has gotten more wacky and cute stuff than actually war themed stuff but that has nothin to do with your work
I don't see how the Balloonihoodie is very unfitting to be honest. Frankly while I do think it works better as a Pyro exclusive than all class it's not as offensive as like, the Banana can be at times. The only thing it calls in to question for me is the pony hat being Halloween only still, if this thing is allowed.
Don't worry about it Retrocitrus, I'm sure there are tons of people out there who really enjoy your item. I like it a lot.
Dumb question, but can you giftapult a giftapult?
Is there a pro version of CP_Foundry?
edit: I guess Foundry was Valve's attempt to make a competitive map themselves besides Badlands, but I don't think it's really liked.
It seems like they would've reverted it quite quickly if it was the case, because economy and all.
Yeah they could have fixed it in the second patch yesterday or in a patch today but they didn't so it seems pretty likely making Aussies festive is a feature.

Honestly dude, it sucks that people are making you feel that way about all of this. Getting your item accepted is awesome, and a huge honor.
[sp]also, if you want my opinion, the hoodie isn't even that bad, since it's basically just a hoodie of something that's already been established in the game[/sp]
Keep making stuff, and don't worry about people trying to stifle your creativity, you're a very talented dude.
The Balloonihoodie is a cute hat that makes atleast a modicum of sense, since it's already established that other Balloonicorn paraphernalia exists.
You'll always get people who dislike such items due to them being cutesy, but part of having choice in customization and community-provided additions means having styles from all kinds, military gear to futuristic/cyborg, comically edgy to flashy and cute. It's the nature of the beast that obviously not everyone will like every hat introduced.

You should never be sorry; you should be ecstatic that your work was accepted. The item isn't my cup of tea, but I don't mind that it's in the game. People should be focusing their ire on Valve and the fact that we only get one normal-sized major update a year.
Gentlemen, I have created a theory on the most obnoxious possible loadout in tf2. Unfortunately at this time it remains a theory as I do not have the necessary equipment to test it.
By obnoxious I mean the most visually obnoxious, and I am not going to be including renamed items.
More expensive doesn't necessarily imply more obnoxious either, and most people don't have backpack.tf open whenever they play to judge their teammates.
The upsides of this is that your team will notice you, the down side is that the enemy team will DEFINITELY notice you.
Let's start.
An interesting fact fact is that it is possible to wear multiple unusuals at once, without abusing bugs. This may not be possible on certain classes, but it does work on multiple. For instance Pyro can wear the Hazmat Headcase, Coffin Kit, and any other hat unusual (like the boot). If any of those unusual are paintable you will want to paint them. Lime or Pink is best. If multiple unusuals are paintable, then do not paint them the same color.
That isn't obnoxious enough though.
We now need an unusual (and preferably strange) war paint or skin on the primary weapon. Isotope is probably best, as it most likely doesn't match the color of the weapon and is more likely to be noticeable from a distance. You then festivize it.
You then add a Professional Killstreak kit to it. Fire horns effect are probably the most noticeable, and you want to make sure the effect's color does not match that of you hat (or any unusual effect your hat has).
Now on to action items, you should probably equip the Contracker. Preferably an australium one. If it is Christmas, then you could alternately equip the holiday noisemaker. This noisemaker doesn't only make noise, it also makes a snow particle effect for a little while when used.
But wait, there's more.
We will now use halloween spells. For when it's halloween, a full moon, someone enabled it in the server settings, or someone ACTUALLY went and used an eternaween.
You will want to use a foot print effect on one of your hats. Only one though. Footprint effects do not stack.
You then want to use 2 spells on your primary weapon, one of them is Exorcism. The other is the weapon projectile/flame coloring, but only some classes have these. On Pyro this is Spectral Flame.

I remember giving Bang a lot of shit for making the holiday headcase and now i own one.
The balloonicorn stuff is just really bizarre for Valve to constantly focus on when Pyroland as a concept was a one off thing used to carry an underwhelming Meet The video.
The balloonicorn stuff isn't weird to me, it's a unique and appealing design, but it is bugging me how they're basically oversaturating the game with balloonicorn stuff. Like, the majority of non-workshop TF2 merchandise is Balloonicorn stuff, inflatable Balloonicorn, Balloonicorn stuffed animals, a Mystery Box rare Ballonicorn Pyro figure (which I'll admit looks really cute), even a god-damn Balloonicorn key sleeve, and now in the game itself there's a Balloonicorn Pyro head, Balloonicorn weapon skins, Balloonicorn hoodie...
The part that bugs me the most is for the longest time there was nothing involving Balloonicorns, from the Reindoonicorn's release up until the weapon skins. None of this is targeted at the workshop item creators either, this is purely a TF Team problem.
