So how would you make the Back Scatter useful?
full crits.
So how would you make the Back Scatter useful?
Remove minicrits from back. Give bonk on kill from back. Would reward proper flanking and allow you to get out or retreat further behind, but not be able to assassinate several people at once.
So how would you make the Back Scatter useful?
Always minicrits from behind regardless of distance and no accuracy penalty.
I really hope tf2mods.net comes back one day. All of the downloads on the main site are broken, as well as half of the mods for Living Update 2012.
full crits.
Scouts doing 200+ damage just for flanking seems a bit suspect. Even the shooting noise probably isn't much louder than the spy backstab/victim scream sounds.
Just a random experiment I did while I was bored. Steam "restore" achievement items via Steam Support is automated. They always say " One time only ". I've made an experiment, It searches for keywords in your Support ticket like "Gibus" and etc. They have restored 4 achievement items for me so far, I've tried every month = 1 Item. If you want your achievement item restored (That you deleted it not crafted, gave away etc ) go for it. If your request gets denied try sending in another one, just keep it simple and short, make sure words (deleted, achievement and item name) are in the request. I had request cancelled but after changing some words it got through. I've always had the same messege for each support ticket and only changed the item names. It's an interesting find I think, since some people on reddit told me they are not automated. Edit: afaik they only send in non-bot responese to a support ticket after you tick in "Issue not resolved" after their bot response. Feel free to prove me wrong, would like to know more about this. Also i wrote all of this on phone pls no judge spelling :((
I'd love to get all my achievement weapons back. i've hold to most of them as best as i could but instead i sent them an email to consider achievement weapons as Special Quality ones(thus preventing you from selecting them if the option is ticked), so people like me would not end up accidentally crafting them.

Off the top of my head, Sandvich and Gunslinger I can recall still owning.
So how would you make the Back Scatter useful?
get rid of the stupid accuracy penalty.
So how would you make the Back Scatter useful?
Firing speed bonus on successive back hits
So how would you make the Back Scatter useful?
Rework the weapon into something entirely different because Scout is already a flanking class and Spy already kills on backstab.
Scouts doing 200+ damage just for flanking seems a bit suspect. Even the shooting noise probably isn't much louder than the spy backstab/victim scream sounds.
first of all it's 180 on a perfect scatter crit there's a distance system setup on the backscatter to avoid overkills and you gravely underestimate just how awful 20% bigger spread is on something like a scattergun, aswell as -2 shots. you'd need to be way closer to the target for the 180 than normal. so yes full crits is 100% justified on the current itteration of the back scatter.

Every time the game needs to load the backpack icon for it, the game crashes. Is there any way to remove the festivizer without looking at the backpack icon? Or modding out the icon in some way? If not I'll put it back on the steam market until Valve fixes it.
So how would you make the Back Scatter useful?
I think simply removing the accuracy penalty would be a nice first step, I think it might turn it into a decent, though situational sidegrade. Normal accuracy would mean it'd generally be as effective in 1v1 fights as the stock Scattergun (it's a much worse option now in pretty much any open fight that doesn't involve sneaking up on an enemy or shooting a fleeing one in the back), but having 4 instead of 6 loaded shots would mean it'd still be less versatile in prolonged fights. Minicrits from the back aren't useless, they can work for flanking and chasing fleeing enemies, but they're simply not worth the price of both a smaller magazine and less overall accuracy. I don't think giving it full crits or piling on extra bonuses while keeping both the lower magazine size and lower accuracy would be a smart thing to do, though. Too bad that the TF2 Team are so damn slow with balance changes, I really don't understand why they need a year to ship significant changes like that, why they withhold such changes for major update releases, and why it takes them several years to revert or fix changes that nobody really likes. It would be so good for the game's balance if they shipped major changes every 2 or 3 months, as it would allow them to both revert unpopular ones, or make further attempts at improving UP stuff without the uproar of leaving stuff in a broken or UP state for 2+ years. I really don't get it, I understand new maps, new weapons, cosmetics, campaigns, assets, Matchmaking code changes and such take a long time to develop, but surely coding some balance changes every few months while they're working on other stuff isn't THAT time consuming, right? More frequent balance changes would also mean that a lot of the 'real world' playtesting can be done by the playerbase, and the players would generally be less angry if they knew that a newly broken/UP/OP weapon will likely get reverted or changed again in a few months if it's very controversial, and they won't have to wait years for further changes or reverts.
Got added by an OPskins scammer again. I've just started screwing around with them now, it's pretty fun. Congrats to all the people that unboxed unusuals, but since it seems more and more people are getting them and sharing them here, maybe it's time somebody make a thread dedicated to unusual unboxes?

I guess it's a profile used for trading and scam attempts, makes sense, but I've never seen a scammer use an ancient 13-year old Steam account for it. Also, the account is level 30, which means a hell of a lot of Steam badges crafted to reach that rank for no apparent reason. If it's a barren, expendable old account (a stolen one?) with no games and hours played, why rank it all the way up to level 30? That's a lot of trading cards/badges? Maybe for the increased Friend list?

Especially when account creation is practically free and infinite. My guess is they levelled the account up because some traders (believe it or not) judge you on your steam level as it's far quicker than scanning through an entire profile. I've met traders that dropped my trade and upon investigating their profile states they only accept trade offers or friend requests from level 50 and above profiles.
It would really help if there would be an actual captcha in Steam registration.

I guess it's likely a very old account made for Day of Defeat or the original CS (assuming from its Library) that ended up never being used or stolen by someone else, but I'm still wondering about all the badges crafted in random, obscure games not even owned, and hitting rank 30 on a 'empty' profile. Might really be to appear legit among the trading community, I agree. Funny thing about having trades denied for being below level 50... I have nearly a 100 games on Steam, have had the account for 9 years, have bought and traded for a bunch of items (though mostly cheaper stuff), and have about 50 badges crafted (some level 5), and I'm still 'only' level 47... Do these guys realize that in order to reach rank 50+ on a Steam account, one has to craft a shitton of badges? How is that a sign of someone being legit/trustworthy? It's bizzarre to think that such people would deny trading with perfectly honest, regular Steam users that simply haven't put the money and effort into crafting badges in order to reach an absurdly high profile level?
Oh hey, I found some more. I'm still debating putting Community Server Support on there. Or maybe the Matchmaking system in general. I'm honestly surprised Valve still does promo items and comp medals. They probably automated that in some way.
