So yeah, how much of a trouble is the lead dev in considering at this point they went, decompiled bunch of maps from half life 2 and added their shitty sections on top of work that valve had done ?
The entire concept/story for this game is just like something you could find on fanfiction.net but this one is behind a $20 paywall
I'm just curious if, assuming the number of players posted previously are accurate, how much money the dev is going to have left over, after all the court fees and legal penalties he's going to rack up with all the copyright infringement.
I fear this thread is going to keep me from sleeping. :excited:

Ohh fuck. So one of the guys on Mac's stream is worried that either in the currently released version or else the warez version the debugging tool for source might have been left in, meaning that someone could reverse engineer a fair bit of the Source engine with it.

So what you're saying is that Hunt Down The Freeman might be so bad that it could accidentally let people reverse engineer an whole engine?

So if that's true does that mean that Hunt Down the Freeman actually did something good for once? Or what does this mean?
So what you're saying is that Hunt Down The Freeman might be so bad that it could accidentally let people reverse engineer an whole engine?
That, and that we'll get to see Gabe Newell put his knife collection to use on Frank.

Seems like something you would see with shitty games in old consoles being gateways to cracking and reverse engineering said consoles because a clueless developer left something extremely crucial

I'm guessing they're referring to the PDBs (normal debug info). They can help a lot with RE but aren't exactly critical.
Tyler just entered the graveyard from the end of ravenholm lol

Apparently it's possible to spawn the physgun among other gmod tools.
as if source modding wasnt already dead enough, this disaster happens
I think i need more beer to get through this.

So what does this actually mean if it's true? would it make it possible for someone to make a custom version of the Source engine similar to the plentiful custom Doom/Quake engines?
why are we still here?

I have no idea, I don't really know the mechanics myself, but it was someone in Mac's stream who I believe worked on this early on before GTFOing early on, and also probably does a bunch of stuff on his own. Mac has had a few people who worked on this on throughout the night talking about the shit development.

Welp they found a map that just outright crashes the game every time it loads, so rip Kiwi's speedrun
In case it wasn't said, they've been banning people and deleting their posts for actually reporting glitches on the chat intended to be used to report glitches. They've locked it, too.
