Basically everything we see of the source engine is a little, public fragment of it. A lot of the serious inner workings and such are hidden away. Foundation level stuff. If they reverse engineer the engine they'd be able to see any holes or bugs or whatever that could be used for hacking it or recreating.

Well the developers are fucked. Not only did they accidentally release the debug tools for the source engine, the game is also right now on piratebay with the tools included. Expect lots of new csgo cheats to popup soon.

Its not confirmed that the debug shit is in the current version, but if what Frank said is true about this being an early build, its quite possible with his stupidity that he left them in.
You can download the current release through Steam even if you don't own the game through the Steam depot stuff

That's the main thing is that Valve might be proactive enough to have Steam scrub those files from any Source game released on Steam to keep those from getting out, which is the hope right now.
