Retractable rebreather thing in the neckpiece.
Some kind of system which separates oxygen from the water, which explains why Gordon runs out of oxygen faster if he uses his flashlight, and why you regen health underwater until your O2 runs out.
The "oxygen" gauge is just a meter for the rebreathing system. Once power runs out, Gordon has to hold his breath.
He still survives in alien environments and in heavy radiation. A simple re-breather and amazing glasses wouldn't be enough.
can we get an actual CONFIRMED list of stolen assets instead of a bunch of random shit thats being accused without evidence? all of this nonsense with "battlefield models" and the "kf2 magnum" which are clearly not evident is just muddying things up and making it hard to tell what is and isn't stolen
*all cutscenes*
Jesus, lol, this is like watching a badly dubbed anime written by a twelve year old trying to be deep and dramatic. I'd be more lenient if this were just a free mod, but this is a product. I'm sorry if this is late or whatever, but this really was fun to watch (and mock).
-Needless childhood backstory
-Alcoholic bum joins the Marines (or should I say Army pretending to be Marines).
-Poorly written dialogue (and poor voice actors to match).
-"HECU? What are Special Forces doing here?" "I was about to ask the same question. National Guards?" "Anyways..." Psst, National Guard is about the least "special forces" as one can get.
-The whole meeting with the Black Ops guy... I don't know how to describe how dumb this scene is.
-Colonel Q is a parody, right? ...Right?! We're supposed to take these guys seriously?
-As a Marine, the military stuff aggravates me a lot more than it should.
-The ship captain quoting the bible and telling us the ~profound~ reasoning they chose the name "Mitchell"
-Mitchell bounces back and forth from trying to be a "sympathetic reluctant hero" to "messianic badass try-hard" to "cocky smart-ass."
-This reverence of crowbars; I mean, we get it, Freeman uses a crowbar, but it's such a generic item that it's really dumb that people are taking it as a symbol when there's nothing that distinguishes it as Gordon's (and G-Man taking it to give to Freeman, lol).
-This pretentious music; it's a Half-Life story, not Schindler's List...
-"...There was just a man; a man in a suit." "A man in a suit?" "Yes, a man... in a suit." What the fuck is this dialogue? Lol.
-Thanks for shooting the chick I've been conversing with for the last five minutes, because... ~dramatic tension before "the truth"~
-Lol, what a cheap twist. You advertise him getting the shit beat out of him as Gordon, only to cover the man's face in the actual thing, leaving Mitchell to just assume that it's Freeman based on his suit; despite the fact that HEV suits are common among Black Mesa's science team and why the fuck was a Black Ops guy dressed in an HEV suit to begin with?
-Random Gordon dream.
-Everyone just mind your business as your boss(es) chase each other and one kills the other.
-"Badass" one-liner to kill the antagonist (stolen directly from The Dark Knight Rises, no less). Not to mention we get no explanation as to why any of this happened because Mitchell wanted to be edgy.
-Sequel hook to the Borealis. Fans know why that's significant, but contextually there's no reason why Bitchell should or why he should even know of it in the first place.

"All this time, the man I was looking for wasn't Gordon Freeman."
literally the biggest plot twist of the year holy shit
Currently installing this, I'm really not looking forward to this but at the same time I kind of am.
I should get some weed.

Like, the entire story happens because the main character might actually be mentally handicapped. "A dude in an HEV suit beat me up, must be Freeman."
Like, There are 3 named characters wearing them alone, and that's not including the dozen or so dead ones.
Just sat through the cutscenes.
Is this fuckin edgy sasuke supposed to be Adrian Shephards brother.

Makes sense, he probably got a pretty serious head trauma from all that beating.
Clearly this was the intention from the very beginning!

I think it may be a reflection of the writer's own psychosis as he seems to use vagaries to describe people: Crowbar --> Gordon Freeman; Man in a Suit --> G-Man; which, incidentally, would explain why all the characters are as deep as a roadside puddle.
for those who want solid proof HDTF stole assets, the ZAZ i found in the files is the exact model from STALKER

Hunt down the REAL Freeman?
Also, the creators of this are huge cockteases all around:
-Hunt Down the Freeman --> Hunt Down Black Ops guy because raisins
-Trailer: Freeman beats the shit out of protag --> Game: Anonymous HEV guy beats the shit out of protag
-Trailer: "ADRIAN?!" --> Last few minutes of the game: "ADRIAN?!" *zero follow-up* (Stay tuned for the sequel folks XD)

Hi guys, unlike some devs, I am willing to talk about my experience working for Berkan (Frank) on Hunt Down The Freeman.
Since the game is released, I'm more or less able to discuss anything even though the NDA that I was bound to was too vague and non-legally binding.

explain the stolen assets
I don't get the Crack-Life comparison. I actually liked Crack-Life because as stupid as it was, it wasn't afraid to embrace it and roll with it. (Crazed scientists flipping you off with deformed, giant heads and screaming in slow motion as you fire gluon beams out of your hands.)
Crack-Life was also playable, and free. Unlike HDTF which is just horrible. HDTF is so bad, it's good, then goes past "so bad it's good", rolls over to amazing, then falls down to bad.
So the main twist literally makes the whole story pointless.
Meh, otherwise A++ writing.
Stolen assets, why?
While my work was original, I found that some devs were tempted by the fact they could plagiarize work and get money for it. Call it being "inspired", or whatever; but that should not excuse the amount of familiar looking work in HDTF.
I guess this is the byproduct of hiring relatively immature devs.
Why did you string together stolen trouble in terrorist town maps? Why were the enemies placed incoherently and why did you use infinite spawners. Why were sections of the game just flat expanses? Why did the game use shitty backtracking? Why did you not object to such amoral behavior from berkan?

You have to understand that only around three people (Berkan, Metaman, and some unknown figure) had access to source files and the game itself. No one else had played the game before its debut yesterday.
I think a better question is why did nobody ever question the fact that there was apparently no playable build available to all team members?
And why wasn't it on Steam before the release? You can have a build that's only accessible to team members for testing, which would've avoided the (alleged) outdated build upload issue.

It was my understanding that Berkan wanted the game kept secret and under lock-down to prevent leaks, in an event of devs going angry at him.

Fat lot of good that did him.
