Highlights from Rob's stream, some may have already been clipped by others, I think I might have posted a couple before. Here they all are in one neat post though. Anybody here know what I could use to chop up my stream btw? Thinking of trying my hand at throwing videos up on YouTube, a la Broteam's style with the Screech Reel vids, kinda.
:v:
Late, but I had a feeling IHE would do a video on it. This got me thinking though: What if all the other Youtubers who worked on this game come out with videos talking about their experiences with it too?
Guess I'll see to getting my hands on a copy of this game and recording a playthrough. Haven't spoiled anything for myself but the general idea I've gotten thus far is that the game is bad as expected. Is it the enjoyable kind of bad or is it just a rotting shit slog?
Is it the enjoyable kind of bad or is it just a rotting shit slog?
The latter.
Guess I'll see to getting my hands on a copy of this game and recording a playthrough.
Do yourself a favor, and don't. Buying volcano insurance is a far better investment.
Haven't spoiled anything for myself but the general idea I've gotten thus far is that the game is bad as expected.
It's worse than expected, actually. It's not even The Room levels of bad, it's just one aggravating waste of time.
Honestly I'd say that if this game were to be compared to a movie i'd compare it to the Emoji Movie.
The only person who donated on the Indiegogo got a perk which allows to throw potatoes, what happened to that? Are there any potatoes in the final build of the game?
Shit...I was hoping to at least get a laugh out of it...
Welp HDTF has broken MacD, he's just gonna show the cutscenes over youtube and then go play something else
i waited for this all weekend, going to stream this piece of shit right now Wish me luck, because i might get crazy

Fuck this sham of a company. Shame on Frank.

(the reason why I say it's garbage is because the OP is full of irrelevant crap like "L4D2 ripoffs" and FUSE models.
Because of how Mitchell's normal map is set up his stitches are fucking indented into his flesh [t]https://cdn.discordapp.com/attachments/413757278974378003/417598765038567424/unknown.png[/t]

Can I try and say something nice about this trash heap? I would've watched their original idea of a short film. Even if it was as bad as some of the in-game cutscenes I would've enjoyed watching it, it would have been a corny romp as a free short film. The animation isn't all that bad in some places, he didn't do too bad of a job at animating Gmans face, for example. I hear he is a source film animator originally so this idea would've fared out so much better for him I don't know why he was kidding himself with jumping straight into a paid game title.
Welp HDTF has broken MacD, he's just gonna show the cutscenes over youtube and then go play something else
It was really hard to keep going when Act 2 featured "open world" levels where the game expects you to just figure out wherever the hell you're supposed to go without making it clear at all where the level transition is.
Why does it look worse? I mean in the 2016 version he's even in proper patient attire and not a PCV and HECU uniform. Look at the dead surgeons and how "real" the room looks compared to the bland, dull, lifeless room in 2018?

Maybe it was a scenebuild/animation through SFM?
I'm confused about the storyline. So the G-Man offered Mitchell a deal after the latter survived a near fatal encounter with Gordon at Black Mesa, although we know the G-Man had already been watching Mitchell for months (maybe years?) now since his basic training. So flash forward three years after the resonance cascade when Mitchell goes to Alaska where he makes a deal with Combine-loyalist Boris and his daughter Sasha, but we learn 17 years later than the G-Man had also made a deal with Boris and Sasha shortly after they had met Mitchell, but then former Black Ops guy Adam who had befriended Mitchell for the last 20 years betrays Mitchell by killing Sasha causing Boris to send the Combine after Mitchell which helps Gordon in City 17, but we learn it was the G-Man who made a deal with Adam 20 years earlier at Black Mesa to almost-kill Mitchell as a fake Gordon Freeman but then pretend to be his friend for 20 years and then finally betray him. But then Mitchell made a new deal with the G-Man to survive Boris's Combine ambush so he could return to his ship and kill Adam, then redirecting the ship's course towards the Borealis. So why did the G-Man need to mastermind the lives of at least four people (not including the hundred or so little boys from the Alaskan Cremator head factory that Mitchell liberated and raised into his personal army) over the course of 20 years to set up a diversionary tactic for Gordon that lasts for, at maximum, one day? And how does Mitchell being the twin brother of Adrian Shephard fit into this?
Yeah, it's bullshit, but it's funny bullshit, at least, the "best" part of this thing. My only concern is what the hell was he trying to do with those 6 Gordon Freeman waiting on a train? Was that supposed to be a dream? Is that alternate reality Gordon? Honestly, I thought when Mitchell sat down, he'd transform too on another Gordon Freeman, as the others were survivors (Gordon, but also Shephard, and other guys from other mods...) changed into "Gordon Freeman" in case the main one, if he dies, would be quickly remplaced, but no, next scene we have to deal with Mitchell facing Adrian... because, well, the end credits reveal that it's Mitchell SHEPHARD... what's this information bring you to the plot, or to your life, exactly nothing, apart from the fact we're supposed to handle that this dark emo big boy is the brother to our beloved HECU.
FUCKING W H A T
Mitchell is Adrian's long lost twin brother. When they were children, their parent (the scene is too dark for me to tell if the body is a man or woman) committed suicide in front of them. The two were then separated when Adrian was taken to a different foster family. As a young adult, Mitchell became a depressed alcoholic but then decided to join the Marines, eventually becoming a member of the HECU. Seemingly entirely by coincidence, Adrian also joined the Marines and then the HECU. It seems the two never encountered each other through training or Black Mesa, however. However however, despite this seemingly amazing coincidence, the intro also shows that the G-Man had been observing Mitchell during his basic training long before Black Mesa, just as he had also been observing Adrian's training as seen in Opposing Force's Bootcamp. It seems the implication is that the G-Man orchestrated both Mitchell's and Adrian's recruitment into the HECU. In fact, the G-Man may have even been manipulating their lives since they were children, meaning the G-Man spent nearly forty years on Mitchell to enact his plan of creating a diversion for Gordon.

This whole thing sounds like a bad fanfiction
