This whole thing sounds like a bad fanfiction
That's because it is.
Mitchell is Adrian's long lost twin brother. When they were children, their parent (the scene is too dark for me to tell if the body is a man or woman) committed suicide in front of them. The two were then separated when Adrian was taken to a different foster family. As a young adult, Mitchell became a depressed alcoholic but then decided to join the Marines, eventually becoming a member of the HECU. Seemingly entirely by coincidence, Adrian also joined the Marines and then the HECU. It seems the two never encountered each other through training or Black Mesa, however.
However however, despite this seemingly amazing coincidence, the intro also shows that the G-Man had been observing Mitchell during his basic training long before Black Mesa, just as he had also been observing Adrian's training as seen in Opposing Force. It seems the implication is that the G-Man orchestrated both Mitchell's and Adrian's recruitment into the HECU.
In fact, the G-Man may have even been manipulating their lives since they were children, meaning the G-Man spent nearly forty years on Mitchell to enact his plan of creating a diversion for Gordon.
Wait, are you telling me that even though they were taken to seperate foster families, their surnames were not changed?
Suspension of disbelief gone.
Did we ever get a good OpFor sequel mod?
All this Shepard talk is getting me to replay OpFor
I like that their defense is "We just copy pasted a massive part of the content of our game from existing games but it's not illegal!"
Nice standards. Imagine defending the barely usable product you're selling for real world money (while not paying your devs) by claiming it's "just an asset flip, not an asset flip AND a copyrights law violation", and still complaining about the reception of the game.
And I'm still convinced there's a lot of content they have not right to use in this.
Honestly nobody would have cared about its awfulness and all the asset flipping beside probably some memes about mitchell's edgyness if they didn't sell it on steam and instead released it for free.
Im just waiting for the news about him going to jail for basicaly stealing content from other games, not paying his employees and possibly leaking the some important stuff about source

That's going too far tbh. I really doubt he's gonna make a profit now and many people want their money back or to be paid (and according to a reddit post are ready to sue for breach of contract to get it), so he's already in enough trouble.
Also I think it was confirmed the source debugging tool were not in the files many pages ago.

Jail? Proberbly not. Suing? Maybe.

Another clip for you lovely people

I guess we'll have to wait for the real game to be uploaded to Steam because it's apparently all outdated stuff. Makes you wonder why the day one patch had map fixes that didn't also update it to the latest version though. /s

So they stole this map: https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=844856045
Anybody know where in the game this shows up?

Why did they steal so many maps in the first place? For inspiration? Did Berkan himself steal those things?
sorry that my stream ended suddenly, fucking ghetto internet setup.

In my experience decompiling and recompiling maps, the map has to be very, very deliberately obfuscated in order for a recompile not to work. Anti-decompiling flags and methods are surprisingly easy to overcome (they merely become warnings), and at most, entities that don't rely on being on a specific position can be obfuscated by being set to (0, 0, 0) coordinates on compile so the map's functionality is much difficult to understand. Another method is saving the crucial, non-internal entities along with its parameters and inputs in a text file or within the code, compile the map without these entities, and have the game place the entities themselves when the map loads.
Regardless, pretty funny and ironic.
Yeah, it's bullshit, but it's funny bullshit, at least, the "best" part of this thing.
My only concern is what the hell was he trying to do with those 6 Gordon Freeman waiting on a train? Was that supposed to be a dream? Is that alternate reality Gordon?
Honestly, I thought when Mitchell sat down, he'd transform too on another Gordon Freeman, as the others were survivors (Gordon, but also Shephard, and other guys from other mods...) changed into "Gordon Freeman" in case the main one, if he dies, would be quickly remplaced,
but no, next scene we have to deal with Mitchell facing Adrian... because, well, the end credits reveal that it's Mitchell SHEPHARD... what's this information bring you to the plot, or to your life, exactly nothing, apart from the fact we're supposed to handle that this dark emo big boy is the brother to our beloved HECU.
This is misleading, BLACKM3SA is allegedly a mapper for HDTF and the guy that is blacked out is just some random trying to decompile a map.

3 million at 3 subdivisions would be 194 million.
Even at 4 subdivs it'd "only" be 768 million.
Idk how 2 billion got introduced unless he was exaggerating for comedy aspect.
3000000*4*4*4*4*4 gets 3 billion but that's on a subdivision level of five.
Honestly, if Frank really wanted this trash fire to sell he should've offered Mitchell's loss scars and greasy shit hair as cosmetics for TF2.
Hey at least the fp animations were good

But you can put something shiny in it
I just remembered the amount of wrong comment in this game, even the gloves, my god, change when you change the weapon, leather gloves or fur gloves, Mitchell is the fastest glove-changing guy in the world.
Again, the whole thing being retail just makes it worse.
And if "old" people like me remember, we've got in the past, an "amateur" mod gone retail, which was Gunman Chronicles, a Total Conversion which was fun, and professional, and it is nowadays an obscure FPS, because for some reason, VALVe never put that game on STEAM, even though it was in the beginning, a TC HL1/GoldSrc mod. You can still play it if you buy the game, though, some people may have it on Ebay.

This thread is pretty garbage in the first place but I thought I'd post the dev response. (the reason why I say it's garbage is because the OP is full of irrelevant crap like "L4D2 ripoffs" and FUSE models.

This is misleading, BLACKM3SA is allegedly a mapper for HDTF and the guy that is blacked out is just some random trying to decompile a map.
There are so many shitposts, that is hard to guess which information is true ( BTW never understood the critics agaisnt using L4D content as Valve allows it, another story is if it fits into the style ). I had to lose this weekend three hours watching a stream first, and later with someone who bought the game to check into the files to debunk rumours about HDTF using content from Obsidian Conflict.
Personally I feel sad ( and even angry ) for this because I feel the intent, but they failed miserably on every single aspect.
The plot is cheesy as any Call of Duty game which can be a bit tolerable sometimes ( but the whole 20 years of revenge is just plain silly ) and full of mistakes when taking into reference the HL lore, mapping is just plain terrible in both gameplay, design, graphics and performance, and the quality of the content is all over the place ( if you are going to use the low poly models that had HL2 among others at least update them like Black Mesa did ) with different styles being crammed in for no reason.
However I must recognize their brave attempt to play across the "three stages" of the HL2 storyline with the Seven Hour War, part of the "leak" storyline and the retail one. The idea of moving across undetected with a boat was interesting ( just throw some "we use Combine tech for avoid being detected" and you are set ), and the SFM cutscenes, while they still having mistakes, they are at least decent.
Aside of creating better stuff, they should have concentrated on making a better plot. For example, when you have the part of the protagonist collaborating with the Combine, they could have gone with the "alright, but we will enhance you as Combine Soldier" and then after the whole Black Mesa East part, you could pull something like "the mind control chip failed, I'm free" and have stuff like this possible ( or hell, just implement all of the concepts Jack Monahan did, they would have well fitted into the different settings of the game http://lambdageneration.com/creations/half-life/jack-gauss-monaghans-valve-portfolio-fantastical-visions-of-the-half-life-continuum/ ), or rather than insist on the idea of revenge only into Freeman, make it expand and redirect into the Administrator, into Breen first and then into Gman ( "who was the ultimate responsible for this?" idea if one goes with the silly plan on focusing only on revenge ). Play with the idea of "double agent", go play directly into a diversion for Freeman rather than just leave it at the surface.
There were so many parts where they could have reach this to a decent or even a good state, but the minimum effort ( I don't truly want to think all of this was done on purpose as scam ) they did on this game was truly terrible. And the fact is not a mod, but a game is what it makes me even sadder ( like what happened with Prospekt ).
