I can attest to this considering one of my friends worked on it, did an animation and got paid [I]$25[/I] in return lmao, requested not to be in the credits

Because, I mean, that's generally the first thing you discuss before doing any work for any project - is it paid work or is it free? And if it's paid, how much is it? I don't blame your friend for asking to not be credited, though. Even if he was paid a competitive rate for the work, I wouldn't want my name attached to this dumpster fire regardless.

Once the military realized the scope of the problem, they started sending in kill squads.

If they told them "you're gonna kill some american scientists for us" from the start some soldiers might have had a problem with it, but once you are on-site in the middle of a desert and there are aliens all around you trying to kill you your options start to decrease a little bit
